POPSFoursquare - Location Based Coupons - The Next Twitter? Foursquare says they'll help you meet up with your friends and let you earn points and unlock badges for discovering new places, doing new things and meeting new people. Will have to try the iphone app. Logo looks like a guy bowling. The next Twitter? Probably not. 5k followers on their twitter blog at http://twitter.com/foursquare . Carve out a piece of the Twitter pie? Possibly. Most venues listed for Seattle have few check ins. All new. Steps to use: #1 find your friends nearby: use iphone app or mobile browser #2 points and badges: earn check in points. #3 explore the city - find all of the cool things to do in the city (NYC) and make to do lists of things you want to do.

POPSJo Public is making money designing apps. Here's a squeaky clean iphone app that took Kostas Eleftheriou a week to make and so far has netted him 40K. It really doesn't do anything but one cool effect. New java based userfriendly WYSWYG software is currently in development that can pare that one week timeframe into 1 day. The upside is this software develops across multiple platforms, not just iphone friendly apps. See http://www.xpressmo.com for more details.

POPSqtweeter this is an awesome thing beyond belief. sharing links to fb and twitter is a breeze, it looks cool, and no icon cluttering the springboard. worth the few dollars the dev asks for. you get 15 tweets free to try it out. i'd jailbreak for this alone,

POPSThe iPod of e-Readers? Hmm. Not sure about this one. Form factor not very inventive and I've heard Kindle's iPhone app is quite adequate for filling in the gaps when you have short chunks of time to read for a few minutes. I give them credit for going after a fast growing niche, but they've got their work cut out for them IMO.

POPSSkype for iPhone: It's official Way Cool. Now I wonder if GoogleVoice will show up on iPhone and Android soon? What will make Skype on iPhone even more useful is if the next gen has the video conf camera on it.

POPS10 Awesome Tools That'll Make You A Twitter User Expert! 7. Twitterfone Twitterfone is a nifty tool which let's you post messages to your twitter account using your voice. It translates your voice into text and posts them. You can use it when you don't feel like using your cellphone's keypad to tweet. 8. Twittercal Twittercal, as it says, connects your Twitter account to your Google Calendar account and let's you easily add events from twitter. 9. Quotably Quotably let's you view the twitter conversations as a discussion thread and also allows you to reply to them and participate in the discussion. This can be very useful if you are looking to follow a particular discussion. 10. Timer Last but not the least, Timer does a very simple but extremely useful thing. It uses twitter to remind you about a task at the time specified so that you don't forget to accomplish it. I hope you'll find all or some of these tools useful as a twitter user. You could also follow me on twitter.
