POPSFile 87 Obama's Socialist Appointees-Where is the Spotlight?
Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production. Our immediate task is to limit the capitalist class’s prerogatives in the workplace... In the short run we must at least minimize the degree of exploitation of workers by capitalists. We can accomplish this by promoting full employment policies, passing local living wage laws, but most of all by increasing the union movement’s power... DSA has some cross membership with the Communist Party and considerable cross-membership with the the equally militant Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism. DSA has close ties to many Congressman, including John Conyers, Danny Davis, Jan Schakowsky (all close Obama supporters) Jerrold Nadler and Bob Filner. DSA has key personnel or allies at the top of AFL-CIO, SEIU, United Auto Workers, United Steelworkers of America and other major unions. DSA has considerable influence in ACORN, Working Families Party, Green Party, Democratic Party . . .

POPSTop 50 USA War Criminals This is a pretty good list. If you don't know, btw, the idea comes from the USA having a Top 50 (Top 52) list of Iraqi alleged war criminals and putting their faces on a deck of cards (like this article does). Of course, these are just accusations. They should be arrested first, held in secret prisons for a few years, tortured and then maybe...maybe we have a trial for a few of them. That would be Bush League Justice (i.e., injustice). Maybe a few on the list are innocent or dupes...but we should let that get in the way. I note the clip calls not only for activist, U.S. appropriate officials but also for foreign courts and the International Criminal Court to get involved. That would be a good thing to lobby for, esp. for those who live outside the country, could put lobby effort there...because you can't expect a guilty nation to hold guilty people as accountable as they should...it's sort of like expecting a fox to guard the hen house.

POPSThe Firm of Rush, Muddle, and Malign Sometimes it's hard to remember in the midst of this hilarity that the verbiage is all about setting up a humongous federal bureaucracy, staffed by members of some federal workers' union, spending trillions of our dollars as they "save" money, pretend to give us "options," and keep us healthy.

POPSBend It Like Barack - Into The Red Despite Barack Obama’s promises, the cost-saving techniques in ObamaCare only offset about a quarter of all the new spending in the plan by 2019. The offsetting tax increase, Rangel’s surtax, will only generate $87 billion a year by that time, slightly more than half of the next spending increase " and note that revenues almost flatline while spending increases at a much higher rate. What does that mean for the second decade? Click on the image if you need a better look at the data. By the time we get to 2029, ObamaCare will run a $205 billion deficit in that year alone, almost as much as the CBO estimate of the program’s entire first decade. It’s a devastating analysis of ObamaCare, one which Hennessey calls a TKO of the proposal. These charts certainly make that case. Be sure to read all of his analysis. Curl up in front of a fire. In fact, throw John Conyers’ copy on the logs, since he won’t be reading it before he votes.

POPSDon't need leaders who just can't be bothered to read.. We have elected to represent us the lowest form of Americans. At least Conyers said flat-out what we all believed anyway. These entitled elitists are foisting on us (as LAW) things they don't even know about and frankly, isn't important because (as the article says) it won't apply to them. They spend their days at 'luncheons', traveling, making idiotic speeches that are as empty and superficial as their own sense of leadership and accomplishments. Americans....please don't let the likes of this man continue with his arrogant, lazy, pompous crafting of policies that will effect our future and every detail of our daily lives.

POPSBarney Frank Admits Overloaded the Schedule, Conyers Cant Read Bills = Aliinsky Rule # 8 - Overwhelm Its amazing what small things you pick up when you actually PAY ATTENTION to the Government as they cover up their tracks. Aside from the Obvious story re: the Transparency and Vision of the Federal Reserve, Cross reference this with another story that dovetails into this one. CHUCK TODD, W.H. Correspondant describes a principle Rahm Emmanual Learned about HOW TO PASS Bills in D.C. "Dont just deal with one big issue.. Any bill Can be killed if you give opposition time to unite and organize around it." ~ Chuck Todd, , political Dir. and chief White House correspondent for NBC News, on Rahm Emmanuel's learning experience from Clinton healthcare crash, and how he intends on fixing that mistake.

POPSConyers: Why Bother to Read Bill? Conyers Sees No Point in Members Reading 1,000-Page Health Care Bill--Unless They Have 2 Lawyers to Interpret It for Them Monday, July 27, 2009 By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter (CNSNews.com) - During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill. “I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,’” said Conyers. “What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill? eyeblast.tv video (0:36) http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=GduzuzqGqG Also: Conyers: Obama Suffers from ‘Rahm Emanuel Factor’--He's Willing to ‘Make a Deal About Anything' http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=51625

POPSA prophetic voice needed in healthcare debate Time for the religious and humanist communities to insist that reform itself is not enough: we want the plan that gives "care" priority over "profits" and over "what will fly in D.C." (simply code words for “what those congressional reps who are dependent on the contributions of the health care industry are willing to allow to get through their committees.”)

POPS"Take Action: 'Hate-Crimes' Bill Headed for a Vote" "'The problem, which few want to acknowledge for fear of being labeled politically incorrect, or worse homophobic, is that in order to crack down on hateful behavior ... thoughts and expression must also be targeted — which runs diametrically counter to the First Amendment's protections for free speech and expression,' he wrote in a commentary today." "TAKE ACTION Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and reportedly said he is not hearing from family advocates on this issue. Please e-mail and/or call your U.S. representative and request a vote against the hate-crimes bill (H.R. 1913). You can find contact information through our Action Center."

POPS Reparations For Slavery? http://www.jewishworldreview.com -- Thomas Sowell --- THE FIRST THING to understand about the issue of reparations for slavery is that no money is going to be paid. The very people who are demanding reparations know it is not going to happen. Why then are they demanding something that they know they are not going to get? Because the demagogues themselves will benefit, even if nobody else does. Stirring up historic grievances pays off in publicity and votes. Some are saying that Congress should at least issue an official apology for slavery. But slavery is not something you apologize for, any more than you apologize for murder. You apologize for accidentally stepping on someone's toes or for playing your TV too loud at night. But, if you have ever enslaved anybody, an apology is not going to cut it. And if you never enslaved anybody, then what are you apologizing for?

POPSCongressman Threatens Rove with Jail For a better background on the Seigelman case than I can give in the limited space here, check this -- it's pretty thorough. Long story short, it was a gross miscarriage of justice and about as clearly illegal as is possible. Seigelman was a political prisoner of the United States, whose only real crime was being a Democratic Governor that the GOP "could not beat fair and square," according to a former Republican Attorney General of Arizona. In Rove's defense stands Bush's assertion that executive privilege lasts forever. It's looking more and more like that BS claim is going to be tested in court.

POPSPelosi Promises Investigation of Bush Crimes Man, just when I was all set to get back to hating Nancy. As Michael Corleone said in Godfather III (I think), "Just when you think you're out, they suck you back in!" The piece goes on: he was far less restrained when asked about the White House role in the firings of eight U.S. attorneys, vowing to push forward on hearings that could lead to prosecutions. "That's not up to us to say that doesn't matter anymore... We cannot let the politicizing of, for example, the Justice Department to go unreviewed," she added. "I want to see the truth come forth." Wow, maybe the neocons aren't going to get away with it...
