POPSFeds Get Huge Pay Hikes While Taxpayers are Loosing Jobs
Okay folks it is time for some straight talk. We the people need to take back our country from the thieves and robber barons occupying capital hill. We can not longer sit back and allow this outrageous behavior to continue. We need to get to the polls and vote out all the incumbents and replace them with FISCAL conservatives and strict constitutional candidates. This country was made great by adhering to the founding principles outlined in the Constitution which safeguards the rights of the citizenry, and restricts the powers of the federal government. Today as we watch the daily newscasts we are being assalted by an out of control federal government with an insatiable appetite for more and more of our hard earned money which they squander on useless pork barrel projects designed to buy votes and nothing else. IN addition they continually vote themselves hefty pay increases and benefit packages and then give us the bill. It is high time congress gets a pay cut!

POPSResponding to modern Marxism Every single Democrat in the current majority, including Barack Obama, swore an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution. Yet, they absolutely ignore the limitation of power set forth in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. None of the 17 powers enumerated there authorizes the current health-care bills or the cap-and-trade bill, or the bailout, or the stimulus package – all recently passed by the House of Representatives. When asked by a reporter to identify the constitutional authority for the current health-care bills, Sen. Patrick Leahy said: "We have plenty of authority, why would you say we don't have authority?" Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reply to the same question was: "Are you serious? Are you serious?" Obviously, neither one is "preserving, protecting or defending" the Constitution when they ignore its limitation of congressional power.

POPSUS founded as a Christian Nation Most of the fifty-five Founding Fathers who worked on the Constitution were members of orthodox Christian churches and many were even evangelical Christians. The first official act in the First Continental Congress was to open in Christian prayer, which ended in these words: "...the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Savior. Amen". Sounds Christian to me. Ben Franklin, at the Constitutional Convention, said: "...God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?" John Adams stated so eloquently during this period of time that; "The general principles on which the fathers achieved Independence were ... the general principles of Christianity ... I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that the general principles of Christianity are as etemal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." more at source

POPSSelf Proclaimed Elites and Tyranny
"there’s little or no distinction between Nazism and socialism. Even the word Nazi is short for National Socialist German Workers Party. The origins of the unspeakable horrors of Nazism, Stalinism and Maoism did not begin in the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s. Those horrors were simply the end result of long evolution of ideas leading to consolidation of power in central government in the quest for “social justice.” "Few Americans have the stomach or ruthlessness to do what is necessary to make their governmental wishes come true. They are willing to abandon constitutional principles and rule of law so that the nation’s elite, who believe they are morally and intellectually superior to the rest of us, can have the tools to implement “social justice.” "Those tools are massive centralized government power. "It just turns out last century’s notables in acquiring powerful central government, in the name of social justice, were Hitler, Stalin, Mao, but the struggle for social j

POPSHey, stupid! Fix health care This is a common sense article. It's practical, fair and do-able. His suggestions won't please those who want all things for all people but it's sensible. His ideas for "free clinics" and "free health care" are, again, reasonable. Even the ideas about getting doctors and hospitals to participate are reasonable and appropriate. It really isn't that complicated if Congress is willing to take some common sense approaches instead of trying to throw out our entire healthcare system for the sake of special interest groups. And his bottom line: "There definitely is no provision in there (the Constitution) for a federal takeover of health care."

POPSWhat States Rights Really Mean
More from an article about the book, Reclaiming the American Revolution: The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions and Their Legacy (New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2004). By William J. Watkins, Jr. "An anonymous Jefferson (who was vice president at the time) penned what became known as the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798, which spelled out the objectionable aspects of the Alien and Sedition Acts as well as the states’ rightful response: nullification." "Madison penned similar resolutions that were approved by the Virginia legislature. Although Virginia and Kentucky found little support in other states for these ideas in 1798, with the passage of time all sections of the country would appeal at one time or another to what became known as the “Principles of ’98.” "the line of thought that culminated in the Resolutions of 1798 can be traced all the way back to the Virginia ratifying convention, where its central principles were laid out by prominent Virginia Federalists. POPSA New 4th of July Declaration of Independence
They propose, for specious, scientistic purposes, to destroy major mining and manufacturing industries. A political party of foreign ideology such as the Democrat/Socialists, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. The Democrat/Socialist welfare-nanny-state is imposing burdensome new taxes, strangling regulations governing our every-day lives, takeovers of private businesses, and the highest levels of deficit spending and public debt ever imagined in human history. From this will flow either, or both, ravaging inflation and economic stagnation. If we do not revolt and stop this ideological madness, the United States will not survive. We shall become, like present-day California and New York City in 1975, the ward of outside creditors. China, Japan, and other creditor nations will not forever finance our heedless, self-indulgent profligacy. The wages of socialism is economic death.

There is no one in public life who could, and based on your stated principles and promises should, do more to move America forward toward becoming a country in which LGBT people are respected and treated as fully equal under our Constitution and laws. We ask for your leadership and voice. When you lead, we will back you with every bit of heart and determination we can muster."

POPSSilence Is Not Neutrality Obama needs to support freedom in Iran The regime has always blamed Great Britain, the United States, Bahais, Zionists, and/or Jews for every ill that befalls the country. When the leadership claims God's mantle, it is hard to accept accountability for the failure of leadership; it is far easier to find straw men to blame. Don't underestimate the Iranian people, however. The protestors are no longer supporting former Prime Minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi; they are chanting "Death to the Dictator" . They are opposing the Islamic Republic. While conspiracy theories loom large in Iranian culture " indeed, Iranians poke fun at their conspiratorial nature in often-humorous ways " the Iranian people can separate the wheat from the chaff. Those inclined to believe Kayhan, the Islamic Republic News Agency, or the Fars News Agency will do so no matter what we do. Those disinclined will not swallow regime propaganda simple mindedly.

POPSLawsuit Against Torture Moves Forward
The lawsuit is against the lawyer in the Bush White House who wrote legal opinions justifying torture. The lawsuit is filed by a victim of torture, a U.S. native-born citizen who was held in prison, in indefinite detention for three years and tortured during that time. This is how the "system," is suppose to work. Torture is a crime. It's supposed to be handled in courts. This is very good to see - although I'd add a caution against utopian idealism. People have been hurt here. Core principles of our justice systems betrayed and broken. Hundreds of thousands killed by a war started with deliberately fabricated lies; it's not like they're is a cure-all, instant 'happy ending.' It's like if you're caught in an avalanche. People die in avalanches. Or bones get broken and lives crippled. Homes get destroyed, etc. Later a team will probably arrive to clear the road, clean things up, provide aid for the wounded...but they don't buy you a new home, don't replace your wife or

POPSThe Majority Spoke...And the Court Did It's Job Regardless of your position on same-sex marriage, the majority decides. In California, the voters decided that 'marriage' will remain traditional. The California Supreme Court, as is it's job, ruled dispassionately, relying on the constitution of the state instead of personal positions. But the main reason I clipped this article is because - regardless of my stance on the subject - I applaud the Court for doing the job it was hired to do: decide cases without prejudice. I hope Obama's new Supreme Court nominee is of the same ilk.

POPSYoung Conservatives Coalition Uses Modern Tools to Promote Timeless Principles A recent Gallup Poll shows that 18 to 29 year olds are more likely to be libertarian than conservative and that Republicans have an opportunity to “get in front of this train”, Kirby told hundreds young activists. There were over a million such voters who supported Ron Paul in the Republican presidential primary last year, but only one-third came back and voted Republican in the general election. Christopher Malagisi, president and principal founder of the YCC said his organization is ideally positioned to communicate the many appealing aspects of the conservative philosophy to a new generation of voters that did not have a living memory of notable figures like former President Reagan. Both parties have been complicit in expanding government beyond its constitutional boundaries and in accelerating wasteful spending, Sarah Smith vice-president of YCC observed.

POPSCPAC Straw Poll Vindicates Ron Paul, Huckabee Distanced
Ron Paul in virtual tie for 2nd, with Palin, well above Huckabee. Conservatives, unlike the republican establishment, like Ron Paul's principles on economics, preserving Constitutional law and liberty, and apparently even foreign policy (surprise, surprise) over others . This shows that conservatives then are divided, and not ready to throw all their weight behind one lead candidate (i.e. Romney, a CFR member and RINO who has no real conservative or Constitutional record). It must be acknowledged that Ron Paul's principles are vindicated as attractive among conservatives, and been missing from the Republican party. While Romney won the poll this still means Republicans are out of touch with conservatives listening now to Paul outside the heat of political campaigns. The fact that he fairs so much better here than during the primaries (although he trampled Giuliani then) says that conservatives are awakening and listening to his message, finally.

POPSPalin vs Palin Sarah Palin isn’t in this election to change anything in Washington, she is in this race to win. This is nothing more than a contest to her. Her competitive spirit is dictating that she not back down (an unthinkable act contrary to her very nature) and do whatever it takes to win. The current state of the republican party has degenerated into an unethical, immoral, propaganda generating, smear machine designed more for character assassination than solidifying itself as a viable platform of positive change. John McCain, who I believe is a decent person, has made a grave error in judgment, perhaps blinded by the prize, but nonetheless, has done himself and his party (and therefore his country) a grave disservice. As a result of his choice the world now sees him as selling out his principles for his party. His only hope to win this election (and granted it would be an unprecedented and desperate attempt) is to replace Sarah Palin with, pretty much, anyone else.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that President George W. POPSRon Paul's GOP Counter-Convention Continues to get his revolutionary message out that the GOP is way off the mark in regard to their own traditional republican principles of limited government and individual liberty which the neoconservatives have trampled entirely. The popularity of the message cannot be overlooked and demonstrates the latent great dissatisfaction with the presumptive party nominees of McCain and Obama (who is continuing the talk of the "war on terrorism" as if it is a legitimate and constitutional war--see comments on Afghanistan). This might be the year of the greatest number of alternative candidates on the Presidential ticket: Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, Green Party, will probably be on every state ballot.

POPSArizona State Senator(R): 9/11 Controlled Demolition
Her commentary appeared in this newspaper. She makes a well sustainable argument that cannot be denied has merit. • The theory that the buildings collapsed due to controlled-demolition explosives, however, is consistent with scientific principles and the facts. The “demolition” theory, in fact, is the only one which scientists have been able to corroborate. That is, “… all observations are in accord with the use of explosives in a time sequence.” (Legge and Szamboti, December, Journal of 9/11 Studies.) The events of 9/11 led immediately to the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and passage of the Patriot Act (what double-speak), both of which deprive us of Constitutional rights and have brought us to the brink of becoming a police state. Homeland Security is currently trying to force a national ID card down our throats, although some governors have politely (or not so politely) told Secretary Michael Chertoff where he can go.

POPSKhaled Abou el Fadl: "God Does Not Have an Equal Partner" Khaled Abou el Fadl is both a prominent Islamic jurist and an American lawyer. In his many books he has accused radical Islamists of ignorance concerning the Koran and Sharia law. "We can debate God's will as much as we like. I encourage Muslims to do so in order to discover God's will," says Abou el Fadl. "If, however, we adopt a law and the state implements it, we cannot assume that it represents God's will. If, on the other hand, we give the state the power to represent God, that is not a democracy, but a form of ideology. This contradicts Islamic theology, because God does not have an equal partner." This is why the divine law should only cover questions of faith and should not be subject to the state. It is not the job of the state to regulate the relationship between God and the faithful. POPSUphold Our Founding Fathers' Intent And TheTenth Amendment
Force Congress to Cite Constitutional Authority for Bills! John Shadegg (R-AZ) has reintroduced H.R. 1359, the "Enumerated Powers Act", a bill that highlights the importance of the Tenth Amendment and forces a continual reexamination of the role of the federal government. As Barry Goldwater wrote in "The Conscience of a Conservative": "I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for......................."

POPSBush commits troops to Iraq for the long term Bush has repeatedly overstepped his bounds as president, and it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to hold our government to a moral standard. POPSBush -- Hypocritical Defender of the Constitution The entire article is worth reading. This is a typical neo-republican message where "judges that legislate from the bench" really is against judges who uphold the Constitution versus anti-Constitutional legislation or Executive usurpation of powers. Orwell would call this "newspeak". Parry calls it, justly, "cognitive dissonance", but it apparently applies as well to too many other Americans also in a stupor and blind denial of the facts.
