POPSAdding to the discussion on climate change Conservative bloggers have a very selective way of ignoring facts. Perhaps this can serve as a reminder to collect facts before they shout. "Light travels faster than sound and that is why some people appear bright until they speak"

POPSUPDATE: Obama Blog Propaganda is Government-Wide of the Department of Justice, Holder and President Obama. One conservative editor recently told the Muffled Oar that they have noticed a significant increase in the number and aggressiveness of comments to stories critical of the Holder Justice Department. “There is clearly a designed effort to rebut stories that are exposing the Holder Justice Department as more political than the last. We’ve seen a change in the pattern of anonymous emails we receive and comments posted at our paper’s webpage.” One shivers at the thought of a team of Department of Justice Bloggers anonymously trolling the web to spin the message of a President. It is particularly terrifying when those same anonymous government employees at the Department attack media outlets and newspapers anonymously. How much longer before the Blog Squad operates in the open to intimidate political opponents and critics? Posted by Isaac Muzzey

POPS"Democrat-Media Complex" “The unorthodox roll-out was orchestrated to protect James and Hannah,” said Breitbart. “The moment that their peril ended, was when Jon Stewart reported on this, making fun of the media for missing the story. At that moment I called James and Hannah and said, “You’re mostly in the clear, and the only people left who’ll attack you will be some liberal bloggers.’” Breitbart knows something about liberal bloggers. His pre-BigGovernment career included many months working to launch The Huffington Post. (He had been a researcher for Arianna Huffington in the early 1990s, before he joined Drudge, when both of them were still conservatives.) “I wanted the world to see what the Left and the Los Angeles/Manhattan salons had to think about national politics,” Breitbart told TWI. “Sunlight is the best disinfectant. I thought it would be great for Arianna and I thought it would be great for the right, because it gave them source material.”

POPS Irving Kristol Irving Kristol, 1920-2009: Godfather of Neoconservatism (Read WP posts from Donald Douglas) | (Read MT posts from Donald Douglas) The Astute Bloggers graciously provides the New York Times link, “Irving Kristol, Godfather of Modern Conservatism, Dies at 89.” Also, my good friend Ken Davenport has written his own thoughtful commemoration, “Irving Kristol, 1920-2009.” Ken focuses on how Kristol’s neoconservatism has become the most important critique of modern statist ideologies (and of especially the consequences of post-1960s Democratic Party social policy). There’s lots of commentary at Memeorandum. See Jules Crittenden, GayPatriot, Power Line, The Other McCain, and Outside The Beltway. See especially John Podoretz’s obituary at Commentary, and Robert Kagan at the Washington Post. And Myron Magnet, at City Journal, shares a personal anecdote about Kristol’s compassion: Read more >>> http://www.memeorandum.com/090918/p115#a090918p115

POPSA Fake 9-12 Rally Photo to overestimate DC crowd. What else would Glenn Beck and his followers do but produce a fake photo of the 9-12 crowd in DC. Lying is a way of life for these jokers. Why stop now? The problem is, since their zombies hang on every lie they come up with... They are starting to believe the rest of us can be so easily duped as well... Silly Boys.

POPSOther People's Money The organizations he champions are no better. The problem for the ordinary citizen when it comes to Obama cronies is twofold. First, the main news outlets have been loath to take a hard look at Obama's friends, colleagues and allies. Each person is lauded as a brilliant choice and it's only been thanks to dogged work from Republican politicos and conservative bloggers that the rot under each person's shining carapace was revealed. The organizations are ignored. Second, the myriad failings dogging Barack's buddies are so voluminous and diverse that it's very easy to lose track of things or to throw up one's hands in despair and ignore the whole problem entirely. Michelle Malkin has taken it upon herself to resolve this twofold problem. In a single, compulsively easy-to-read book, she organizes the various players in the Obama administration: his tax-defective cabinet; his "bitter half," aka Michelle Obama; his nepotistic Veep; his unusually crooked cabinet;

POPS1,500 Tea Party Protesters Drove For an Hour Through The Rain
From today's tea party speech (excerpt): First of all there is a cable news channel today that is relatively fair and balanced. And it’s doing quite well by the way….. In the second quarter that just ended FOX News had the Top 10 rated shows. The top 10 rated shows. There is obviously a market for fair and balanced news!! So that is one avenue of truth for you. If you want the truth….. There is also Talk Radio! There is Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Neal Boortz, Tammy Bruce, etc. There is 97.1 FM and Jamie Allman and the Great Dana Show! There is Mark Reardon. There is DIANE JONES of KPLW Most of these radio hosts have there own websites too. There are also conservative websites and foundations. POPSMichael J. Totten's Posts on Iranian Populists' Revolt
Rural areas in the Middle East are often startlingly conservative, especially from the point of view of Western visitors like me and my colleagues in the media. This does not mean, however, that country people are more likely to support fascist political movements. Egypt’s Bedouin, for instance, are far more open-minded about and friendly toward Jews and Israelis than are the denizens of cities like Cairo. This strange meme in many media reports that Ahmadinejad has a “base” of support beyond Iran’s cities is not only wrong, it has everything backwards. The uprising we’re all watching on YouTube is taking place inside Ahmadinejad’s “strongholds,” such as they are. Ahmadinejad is a “conservative” in the relative sense of the word, as he resists any and all reform of the 1979 revolution. He is not, however, a conservative in the traditional sense. Khomeinism and radical Islamism are 20th Century totalitarian ideologies. Traditional village people, conservative

POPSDefining the World by their Prejudices Because, they believe, the shooter hated Jews, he had to be a “right-winger” because the right wing is the source for anti-Semitism in America. Such an attitude shows that while they accuse those of us on the right of living in the past, their understanding of anti-Semitism dates back at least forty years. Their views of conservatives have little to do with the reality of the conservative movement in America today, indeed, with the conservative movement as it has been evolving at least since William F. Buckely, Jr. launched the National Review in 1955. And yet, all too many in the MSM, equally clueless about the ideas undergirding American conservatism, don’t challenge them on their misunderstanding.

POPSWhen Rape Fantasies Involve Conservative Women, Feminists Are Silent
Playboy made the miscalculation of assuming that conservative men are misogynistic pigs and, yes, sent the press release to them. They thought they would have a friendly audience that would link back. Did liberal men bloggers get the list? Probably not, but Playboy would have found more sympathy with them. As conservative women know, the most vicious attacks come from leftist male bloggers. Spending some time in the comment section of an opinionated conservative woman blogger will curl toes. It’s not for the faint of heart. Conservative women bloggers are used to being sexualized, objectified, and called names. Conservative women generally know that any voiced public opinion or any public involvement will mean attempted personal destruction. Which is the point of the Playboy list — get conservative women to shut up. Specifically, get beautiful, smart, young conservative women to shut up. Get them to leave the public sphere. Can you say Sarah Palin?

POPSTens of thousands rally at tax day 'tea parties' I think whoever wrote the article just didn't get it - the people are mad as hell and since The Obama Media Syndicate refuses to air the rallies - Fox was relied on to carry them. At least the protesters can say that taxpayer funds were not utilized - since it was not an ACORN event.

POPSGlen Beck says Crooksandliars.com and liberal blogs are blaming him for the Pittsburgh shooting Beck: Blaming anyone except the nut job for what happened in Pittsburgh is crazy. Police officers over the weekend were killed by a crazy with a gun and blaming anybody else besides him is like blaming the flight attendant after a terrorist takes down a plane. Giving passengers a nice little safety talk to prepare them doesn't mean your responsible should a terrorist actually make that worst case scenario happen. One person is providing who would have acted that way no matter what. Bloggers rushed to paint this killer as a conservative, presumably one who is clinging to his God and his guns. Actually, we didn't paint him as a "conservative," we called him a "right-winger" -- which he is. It turned out he was an extreme right-winger, but the description was accurate.

POPSHomeland Security - Stop indiscriminate raids on immigrants Leftoover zealots from the Bush years have been trying to make their own law while Obama Administration has been getting on its feet. Agent Winchell is one of those immigrant dissing zealots who was attracted by Bush League. He needs to think about a career in politics not posing as a law enforcement officer and being judge and jury.

POPSThe master plan I can't deal with this country anymore. Norquist said one in six state lawmakers across the country has signed his Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Members of Congress, governors and attorneys general also have signed it. "I'm not voting for the budget because I signed a tax pledge; I'm not voting for the bill because raising taxes will devastate our economy for all Californians," said state Sen. Tony Strickland of Thousand Oaks, one of those who kept their word. Devastate what? You mean you're going to do everything to make sure the people don't raise taxes on the rich so they can ride out the financial crisis in style? Go devastate your face.

POPSConservative Bloggers Poised to Progress The Republican Party may still be licking its wounds, but conservative bloggers, pointing to recent history of their counterparts on the left, are licking their chops. As Democrats entered the political wilderness earlier this century, liberal sites like www.dailykos.com and others thrived. “I suspect within the next four years," says Erick Erickson of www.redstate.com, "the left is going to be surprised at how well the right progresses and develops online.”

who erected the "wall" between the CIA & FBI? uh, NO!!! pointing to her experiences at both Fannie Mae and the Sept. 11 commission." To that, my response is to jump up and down with both hands waving frantically as I shout, "Damned right we are! Damned right!" Short of appointing an actual member of al Qaeda, I cannot imagine a more offensive symbolic repudiation of the Global War on Terror — nor a more enthusiastic embrace of the chronic mismanagement, cronyism, and graft which led to this fall's credit crisis — than the appointment of Jamie Gorelick as attorney general. When Obama choose an amoral, souless Hard Left hitman like Rahm Emanuel to be his chief of staff, I was willing to grant that such is his right for such a position, and I didn't even grumble. Indeed, because Emanuel is likely to be effective in doing his principal's wishes, that simply means that Barack Obama himself can be held strictly accountable for his administration's successes and fai

POPSL.A. Times Cuts Out McCain’s Remarks About Economy Then Quotes Barack Obama Saying McCain is Scared to Talk About the Economy "Our current economic crisis is a good case in point. What was his actual record in the years before the great economic crisis of our lifetimes?" At which point McCain launched into the amazing speech quoted by Ed Morrissey at Hot Air, during which he laid out the case, at great length, for the Democrats’ responsibility for the mortgage crisis. Does the L.A. Times report one word of that? No. Instead, they cut the quote of McCain’s speech short there, right before he talks about the economy, and proceed to quote Obama as claiming that McCain is scared to talk about the economy: Speaking with reporters in Asheville, N.C., where he is studying for Tuesday’s debate, which is to focus on the economy and domestic issues, Obama pointed to recent reports that the McCain camp wanted to get away from economic issues, a topic that polls show benefits the Democrats.

POPSPolitics Doesn't Get Any Dirtier This week marks the second time children have been targeted by those who don't like John McCain. And before his supporters on the political right puff up in indignation over what happened to the Palins, they should remember what the right did to McCain in 2000. The victim was his daughter Bridget, found by Cindy McCain at Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh, brought to the U.S. for medical treatment and adopted. In the South Carolina primary, anonymous McCain opponents used a telephone "push poll" across the state, asking voters what they thought of McCain's "illegitimate" black child. McCain lost South Carolina, and the Republican nomination.

POPSHow Dems grew to hate the liberal media “I used to get a lot more on the right,” said columnist Richard Cohen, who broke with liberals when he supported the Iraq war. More recently, the left has picked apart columns that are perceived as being favorable to John McCain. “If you’re a little bit critical of Barack Obama, you get really a pie of vilification right in the face,” Cohen said, adding that his liberal critics “were born too late, because they would have been great Communists.”
