POPSThe Top Antivirus and Spyware Removals to Avoid Like the Plague Eventually getting hit by a nasty computer virus, trojan or severe Adware infection is bound to happen. These problems strike both experienced as well as novice computer users, and the only indication that something is wrong might be that a strange ad window keeps automatically popping up whenever you’re browsing the Internet or your computer slows down to an annoying crawl. Many people who are faced with these issues automatically turn to the Internet for either free or paid antivirus software. There have been many MUO articles covering various free antivirus or antispyware tools, such as Mark’s review of AVG or Bill’s review of Spyware Terminator. However, since so many people turn to the Internet when such a tragedy strikes, I wanted to take a moment to list some of the fake antivirus and spyware removals that you should stay away from or you’ll find your computer infected even worse.~~~~~~~~~ more at the site

POPSConficker virus begins to attack computers malicious software programme known as Conficker is slowly being activated, weeks after being dismissed as a false alarm, according to computer security experts. Conficker, also known as Downadup or Kido, was expected to wreak havoc on April 1 when it was due to be activated, but it failed to cause many problems. Internet virus experts, however, claim it is now quietly turning thousands of personal computers into servers of e-mail spam and installing spyware.

POPSConficker Worm Awakens to Drop Potentially Dangerous Payload The Conficker worm is currently active and updating via peer-to-peer (P2P). Researchers and security experts are analyzing the code of the software that is being dropped onto infected computers. We suspect that the code may be some type of logging program that has the ability to steal or compromise data on an infected system. Many people are surprised as to the new developments of Conficker as they thought April 1st marked the date for Conficker performing any malicious actions but they failed to realize that Conficker only downloaded an update on April Fool’s day. Judging from today’s actions, it is safe to say that we have yet to see the true devastation of Conficker.C.

POPSApril Fool’s Day and Still No Sign of Conficker.C Was Conficker.C really an April Fool’s Day joke? Many experts believe we may see other malicious actions take place from Conficker.C in the days to come. The April Fool’s Day Worm or Conficker.C infection has not caused any major issues as of yet. We have kept an eye on Coficker.C all day for April 1st and so far and we do not have any incidents to report. This does not mean everyone is in the clear when it comes to being infected with Conficker.C as experts continually work with 116 countries to combat the worm before anything malicious happens.

POPSConficker Wakes Up, Updates, Drops Payload The development was found when Trend Micro researchers noticed a new file in the Windows Temp folder and a large encrypted TCP response from a known Conficker P2P IP node hosted in Korea: Two things can be summed up from the events that transpired: 1. As expected, the P2P communications of the Downad/Conficker botnet may have just been used to serve an update, and not via HTTP. The Conficker/Downad P2P communications is now running in full swing! 2. Conficker-Waledac connection? Possible, but we still have to dig deeper into this…

POPSConficker Starts...Well, Doing Something The first seven words of this story are pretty telling. Basically, we still don't know what the megaworm is up to. If it were simply keylogging, as Trend Micro speculates, that could mean major identity theft. But it would also be much less scary than some of the distributed denial of service scenarios others cybarmageddon scenarios others have worried about.

POPSConficker Computer Worm a Bust so Far The attackers didn't attack today, even though the virus has April 1st in the code. The worm creators are likely to sell slices of a 'botnet' to spammers so that the infected computers can be used to send spam.

POPSConficker.C Worm Flaw Found: Security Experts Expect Easy Detection Security experts have discovered a security hole within the coding that commands Conficker Worm. This discovery may be the light at the end of the tunnel for those who worry that Conficker.C may be a devastating and an uncontrollable worm infection, infecting millions of computers all over the world. POPSConflicker worm remedy just in case. Clipmarking this article, just in case. So far there isn't too much activity caused by this worm... But you never know if one of these human created machine viruses will strike you or I mean your puter. Keep your computer updated plus your virus protection. I use AVG because IT'S FREE and it seems to do the job. Too bad we can't fix the economy as easy. Maybe there should be a banking protector Like AVG... oh, I forgot there was but it went to sleep.

POPSPC Virus 'Time Bomb' Precautions And Remedies We're less than a day away from a global computer meltdown — or a terrific April Fool's joke. At some point on April 1, the Conficker virus, which has quietly infected millions of PCs worldwide to herd them into a "botnet" of linked machines, will phone home for new instructions. What it'll do next is anyone's guess. It could muster enough silicon firepower to take down any Web site on the planet, or send out enough spam to fill the inboxes of every e-mail user on Earth. It could offer itself up to the highest bidder, mostly likely an Eastern European cybercriminal. Or it could do what it's been doing for months — nothing. If it turns out you are infected, Microsoft's put up instructions on how to clean your PC, but it's not easy. If you're not, downloading and installing Microsoft's latest software updates should protect you.

POPSBrace For April 1 Computer Attack: "Conficker" Worm Those infections haven't spawned many symptoms, but on April 1 a master computer is scheduled to gain control of these zombie machines, said Don DeBolt, director of threat research for CA, a New York-based IT and software company. All the national news outlets are making it perfectly clear that if you have heard a rumor about a virus that is set to attack computers on April 1, that rumor is now confirmed as fact. I would like to see some of these virus creators treated more harshly. They should have to serve at least 25 years for these computer attacks. Enough is enough. ----------------- Cathy Green is the owner of UpperCrust Maids, LLC and enjoys writing about the service industry and consumer rights.
