POPSAnother Watergate? Unbelievable! Three different members of the Bush State Department bust into the passport files on Barack Obama, and we are expected to believe it was in error, or merely curiosity. The sad thing is that even Hillary Clinton's campaign has some explaining to do, as one of the people who resigned over this incident was President Clinton's ambassador to Paraguay. This campaign is just getting dirtier and dirtier. And hell, this is only the primary. I'm already getting sick over thinking what the fall will bring.

POPSWe have nothing to fear...but these bozos Taken as a whole, these stories nicely define the current state of Republicans when it comes to popularity. Having kowtowed to the Neocon brand of fascism for over two decades, they are finally being seen as the belching bozos they are. The majority of Americans are clearly suffering not only from "coulrophobia," but from "scatophobia," the fear of fecal matter, as well. This explains the low turnout in the Republican primaries.

POPSOpie & Anthony apologize for rape jokes
Recently, Opie & Anthony had a guest on named "Homeless Charlie" who talked about having sex with Condoleeza Rice and punching her face. Not surprisingly, they've now apologized. The content of what they aired was really disgraceful, regardless of whom they were talking about. HOWEVER, one other thing that bothers me about these shows is that they are making fun of homeless people. They get this guy on their show to say all of this awful stuff, and let's face it--they're using him like a circus animal. Last year, I visited California and I heard a show on the radio where they would get these barely literature homeless men to read snippets of dialogue from movies, and then they had contestants who had to correctly answer what movie the dialogue was from. This is just shameful, but no one cares about that. We crack down on people who demean powerful women (we should do that, regardless of how powerful they are), but no one cares when they simultaneously demean homeless people.

POPSRice: "We can't give them a united Iraq" If the administration is now conceding that we can't unite Iraq - what the hell are we still doing there? Playing a minor support role? If this is a minor support role why have we committed all our troops? Why are we breaking the bank for a region we now admit we can't stabilize? If our benchmarks show that we're not succeeding, isn't that an admission that the challenges we face today are not how to win in Iraq, but rather how to recover from the strategic mistake of invading Iraq in the first place? Maybe someone should sit Bush down and explain the law of diminishing returns.

POPSIgnoring the Democrats doesn't work anymore The strategy is indeed short sighted and foolish. This administration's justice department, ironically, invented the tactic of charging for the cover-up not the crime. If department officials continue to do this they can expect the treatment Gonzales is getting despite having the power to fire US Attorneys. They should start answering the questions, its a lot less painful and makes for less speculation that plays into democrats' hands.

POPSBush Worse Than Nixon-Bernstein Bernstein rightfully expresses that Bush has done far more harm to the country and the world than Nixon. As the old bumper sticker says "Nobody died at Watergate." This administration has trampled over our constitution in the most dangerous and murderous way. His lies have cost hundreds of thousands of deaths, not the least being over 3,00, thus far, of our youngest and finest men and women. Of those who serve and did not die, many of them are without one or more limbs, lost their sight and hearing, or suffered permanent brain damage. All in the name of neo-Conservatism of the most militaristic kind. I am grateful that Jay Rockefeller is finally re-opening the hearings of how the White House manipulated the intelligence leading up to the Iraq invasion. Pat Roberts, the Republican chairman, first postponed the investigation until after the 2004 election and then dropped it altogether. This could be the equivalent of the Nixon tapes in revelations.

POPSBush and Lucifer, Part 2 This clip is in response to the comments about my other clip on the subject. This offers a little more info and even mentions that in the same poll Bush was named biggest hero too.

POPSRice speaks out about protests and Iran Not sure there is much the U.S. can do about all this, but i think that the insane behavior of these "protesters" and the outlandish remarks by the Iranian president are playing into the U.S.'s hands. Not sure i'm seeing all the different chess moves that are taking place here...do others agree with my perspective?
