POPS It’s Clinton-Bush! Hey, whatever happened to Donald Rumsfeld, anyway? Never mind, someone in the Obama admin is going to need to have strong opinions, anyway, seeing as the boss doesn’t. “But understand, I will be setting policy as president. I will be responsible for the vision that this team carries out, and I will expect them to implement that vision once decisions are made.” Vision thing, compliments of George Bush, with a Clinton assist. Hey Obama, good moves so far. But here’s a clue. While you’re working on that vision thing, make sure your mind isn’t so open your brains fall out! Here’s a fun AP sentiment: Gates’ presence in Chicago made him a visible symbol of the transition in power from the old administration to the new. I dunno. I’d say it made him a visible symbol of Obama’s acknowledgement that Bush was right, Obama was wrong, and it’s now Obama’s job to try not to screw it up.

POPSNow it's "Cool America" "I think that the election of Senator Obama would send an extraordinary signal to the rest of the world," the former head of Britain's Conservative Party said, describing an Obama victory as "the most powerful declaration of what America at its best has stood for - the most globalized country in the world - because America is made up of the rest of the world."

POPSPraise or cash? Your brain doesn't care. If compliments don't work try flattery. Cash as a last resort. Praise is a lot more economical, and often a lot more productive. The main complication - anyone can pay cash, paying compliments can be a fine art.

POPSAbby Z Soho Top I had a much less expensive version of this top a few years ago. I didn't think much of it, but I got more compliments - it flatters the chest, looks all professional and layered, and the black on the front makes it harder to see when you spill your coffee on yourself.

POPSNiceness - A substitute for goodness?
" the word "nice" is often used as a synonym for "good," as when someone compliments a man for being "a nice guy." But a world of difference separates the bland quality of being "nice" from the Christian virtue of charity and the virtue of justice. While it is relatively easy to be "nice," charity and justice are exacting and demanding. Anyone can be nice -- that is, easygoing, non-threatening, non-judgmental, and tolerant. A nice person never criticizes or judges; a nice person avoids confrontations and arguments; a nice person does anything and everything to keep peace and make life comfortable for everyone. He hears no evil and sees no evil. A nice person never insists on virtue or ever questions the prevalent practices and trends of the day. A nice person never feels outraged at shameless behavior or shocking injustice. While being nice easily leads to popularity and respectability and never creates enemies, it does not inspire admiration, cultivate heroism, or evoke respect.'

POPSHuckabee To Be Giuliani's VP? This scenario looks to be true. Those who support Huckabee then should see just what an unprincipled man he is, in even praising Giuliani. Religious hypocrisy is again be used to deceive and capture the large and naive evangelical voters in order to put a worse tyrant than even Bush into office.
