POPSRetro Futurism Design: Cool Images and Tutorials I work with and employ some phenomenal graphic artists and designers. At every turn, I am constantly amazed at what they can create and I have the utmost respect for their talent. Most of the graphic designers are young. Well, young to me, I'm 41. Today's market is extremely competitive, so when I find gems like these, I think we owe it to them to give them "mad props." Have a gander at this amazing raw talent. The images are splendid and created from the bright minds that are shaping our future. At the end of the article, they so generously provide the tutorials so you can learn how to do it, too.

POPSFun at Archive.org more: "One of my favorite uses for the WayBack Machine is to locate lost web pages/sites. You know how it is. You are clicking through a site and start coming across “File Not Found pages. Next time that happens to you head over to the WayBack Machine. Most of the time you will find exactly what you are looking for."

POPS Booty and the Beasts “A lightbulb went off and they realize they can get ransoms by taking unarmed ships,” said Robert Rotberg, a Harvard University Kennedy School professor. Here are some Somali pirate particulars: • Khat, pronounced like “caught,” is a mild stimulant that can have a euphoric effect. It’s grown mainly in Yemen, but is wildly popular in the lawless East African nation. • It took 206 years, but the Bainbridge name has been avenged. The USS Bainbridge, the American warship dispatched to rescue the crew of the Maersk Alabama, was named for the last American naval commander to lose his ship to pirates. Commodore William Bainbridge was at the helm of the USS Philadelphia when Barbary pirates captured it off the coast of Tripoli in what is now Libya. He also commanded the USS Constitution during the War of 1812, when the ship earned the moniker “Old Ironsides.” HT jules crittenden

POPSCommodore 64 laptop... Not coming to a store near you. I'm so jealous of the people that have time to do this stuff... I can't begin to imagine how much fun it would be to build something like this. And even more fun would be the reaction you get from people when you show it off. This really brings back some memories for me. I never had a c64 myself but several of my friends did and I remember being in awe over them... I would really love to get my hands on one now!
