POPS10 Myths Conservatives Believe About Progressives
1. Liberals Hate America - a difference in the interpretation of the Constitution 2. Liberals want to leave us defenseless in the face of evildoers around the world - bigger guns do not create more security 3. Liberals hate the free market - try bundling free market ideas with free market labor (open borders) and fully informed choices 4. Liberals hate our troops - we love them so much, we want them home 5. Liberals are a bunch of elitists who hate decent working-middle-class Americans - as opposed to CEO's who fly around in private jets and cut thousands of jobs at a time 6. Liberals are against family values - our families are just as healthy, valid, and sacred as yours 7. Liberals want to raise our taxes - who is going to pay for your dirty little war? 8. Liberals are Godless and therefore, amoral - secularism is not amoral 9. Liberals don't believe in personal responsibility 10. Liberals are wimps - is a humane government too much to ask for?

POPSSelective Service Registration Raises Serious Questions EXCLUSIVE: Did Next Commander-in-Chief Falsify Selective Service Registration? First, there is the Document Location Number (DLN) on the form. In the upper right hand corner of the Selective Service form SSS Form 1, there is the standard Bates-stamped DLN, in this case "0897080632," which I've labeled as "A" on both the SSS Form and the computer printout document. On the form, it reflects a 2008 creation, but on the printout, an extra eight was added in front of the number to make it look like it is from 1980, when it was actually created in 2008. POPSFirst Bush-Obama Meeting: Hard Feelings and Hand Sanitizer
"I hope you don't mind me giving you a piece of advice." "Not at all, Mr. President," Obama told the commander-in-chief. "You've got a bright future," Bush said presciently. "Very bright. But I've been in this town awhile and, let me tell you, it can be tough. When you get a lot of attention like you've been getting, people start gunnin' for ya. And it won't necessarily just be coming from my side, you understand. From yours, too. Everybody'll be waiting for you to slip, know what I mean? So watch yourself." Bush then noted that he and Obama had something in common. "We both had to debate Alan Keyes," the president said. "That guy's a piece of work, isn't he?" Obama laughed and even "put my arm around his shoulder as we talked," he recalled, although he added the gesture "might have made many of my friends, not to mention the Secret Service agents in the room, more than a little uneasy." Despite this display of bonhomie, Obama said the president's demeanor turned down

POPS"Nation Finally Awful Enough to Make Social Progress" ""Today Americans have grudgingly taken a giant leap forward," Williams continued. "And all it took was severe economic downturn, a bloody and unjust war, terrorist attacks on lower Manhattan, nearly 2,000 deaths in New Orleans, and more than three centuries of frequently violent racial turmoil." Said Williams, "The American people should be commended for their long-overdue courage."

POPSNation Finally Shitty Enough To Make Social Progress I know the Onion is satire but this strikes much too close to home to be labeled mere satire. As we enter a new era of equality for all people, the election of Barack Obama will decidedly be a milestone in U.S. history, undeniable proof that Americans, when pushed to the very brink, are willing to look past outward appearances and judge a person by the quality of his character and strength of his record. So as long as that person is not a woman.

POPSMcCain Totally Trashes George Bush!
This, just 11 days before the election, is astounding. IMO, and many others think that if McCain had talked like this -- and focuses his criticism on Barack Obama's lack of military experience and thus a poor choice for the president's role as Commander-in-Chief -- he could have won. His list of criticism and emphatically also the list of many Democrats criticisms (except the war) and also spelled out a list of many Republican dissatisfactions about Bush (esp. big government, spending too much money). It also shows off his real 'maverick' streak.which has a lot of appeal to Independents (one-third the electorate). Yup...appeal to Democrats by echoing some of their gripes, appeal to Republican gripes, appeal to Independents, point to himself as better Commander-in-Chief -- it was a path to victory. But no...he made ridiculous smears to link Obama to terrorist; he made empty accusations of voter fraud, he talked 'Joe the Plumber," he picked Palin for VP -- it was like a c

POPSWhy Barack Obama Is Winning Cont I would be making the exact same argument," he began. "Your job is to succeed in Iraq on as favorable terms as we can get. But my job as a potential Commander in Chief is to view your counsel and interests through the prism of our overall national security." Obama talked about the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, the financial costs of the occupation of Iraq, the stress it was putting on the military. Barack Obama has prospered in this presidential campaign because of the steadiness of his temperament and the judicious quality of his decision-making. They are his best-known qualities. The most important decision he has made — the selection of a running mate — was done carefully, with an exhaustive attention to detail and contemplation of all the possible angles. Two months later, as John McCain's peremptory selection of Governor Sarah Palin has come to seem a liability,

POPSHow Obama Is Winning Veterans "David McGinnis, a retired Army brigadier general and combat infantryman, spoke of meeting Obama for the first time and spending three hours discussing a broad range of military issues. "Here's a man who wanted to learn how to be commander-in-chief and was willing to listen and was willing to be held accountable," he said. "That's what you want in a leader." McGinnis was also impressed with Obama's efforts on behalf of veterans dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse and homelessness." Damn you Gen. McGinnis, you turn coat commie lover! How dare you sir! Now get back in line behind the President and stand in attention. A little to the left. Smile. Good boy!

The right wing blogosphere will smear Retired General Powell up one side of the street and down the other.
