POPSUnintentionally sexual comic book covers: part 1 Now, I'm no expert on primate facial expressions, but I think the look on the monkey's face can best be described as: concerned. Of course, I too would be concerned if a moon-bound astronaut mistook me for being a girl from outer space and wanted to make sweet love to my monkey butt. And maybe I'm reading too much into this, but you can only see one of the astronaut's arms on the cover. I'll let you connect the dots, but I can say this much: I've only seen a grin like that on a man's face one other time, and my parents made sure to lock the door from that day on.

POPSJapanese man petitions to marry comic book wife continues: Befitting his desire to be two-dimensional, he listed no contact details, making it impossible to reach him for comment to explain if his campaign is serious or tongue-in-cheek. But some people signing the petition are true believers. "For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love," one person wrote. "Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost," the person wrote. Japan only permits marriage between human men and women and gives no legal recognition to same-sex relationships. Japan's fans of comic books, or "manga," sometimes go to extremes. Earlier this month, a woman addicted to manga put out an online message seeking to kill her parents for asking her to throw away comic books that filled up three rooms.

POPSHow & Why Chrome will Conquer the World So this is a hilarious little comic book Google put together to explain Chrome, which I think represents a very important leap towards cloud computing, which I think is the future of both comunications and computing. We can see this leap in my three favorite features unique to Chrome...

POPSGoogle Chrome is here This is just the beginning -- Google Chrome is far from done. We're releasing this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible. We're hard at work building versions for Mac and Linux too, and will continue to make it even faster and more robust. We owe a great debt to many open source projects, and we're committed to continuing on their path. We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox, among others -- and in that spirit, we are making all of our code open source as well. We hope to collaborate with the entire community to help drive the web forward.

POPSShame on Apple - This is Censorship Plane and Simple I'm very surprised at this action by Apple. I know they want to have approval over what gets added to it's App Store, but banning content because they feel it's too obscene or graphic is absolutely censorship. A company like Apple that prides itself on "thinking different" should absolutely not be deciding what content is and is not appropriate for its users. I can't stand it when corporate America decides it's in the best position to determine what is and is not appropriate for people. If Apple is worried about kids accessing this content, what happened to the role of the parent? It should be a parent's job to determine what content their children access. Apple should not feel it needs to do this. I'm a HUGE Apple fan and am a big proponent and user of its products. However, this action will seriously lead me to reconsider my perspective and stop using and promoting Apple products.

POPS "Dudes, It's the 21st century Evolve! girl can be smart & sexy, science-y & sleek" ;-) "When physicist Lisa Randall posed for Vogue a couple of years ago, there were all sorts of outrageous criticisms of how she was playing into appearance-obsessed stereotypes and hurting the image of women in physics, blah, blah, blah. No one stopped to marvel at how incredible it was that Vogue -- which reaches millions of women around the globe each month who would never, in a million years, pick up a book or article about science -- chose to feature a woman scientist in its pages at all. If even a fraction of those millions of readers worldwide had their perceptions of female scientists changed for the better, huzzah! "
