POPSLung cancer funding lags Just another example of how the government wastes money where it is not needed. Breast cancer, in which there is already a ~90% 5 year survival rate, gets way more funding than lung cancer, for which the 5 year survival rate is 15%.

POPSJust Say No To Socialized Medicine True, other developed nations may spend less on health care as a percentage of gross domestic product than the United States does — but so does Sudan. Without considering value, such statistical evaluations are worthless. And one of the primary reasons health care costs more in America is that we are a wealthy country that demands the best. And, we’re investing a lot more in medical research. The United States produces over half of the $175 billion in health care technology products purchased globally. In 2004, the federal government funded medical research to the tune of $18.4 billion. By contrast, the European Union — which has a significantly larger population than the United States — allocated funds equal to just $3.7 billion for medical research.

POPSConverting DNA Structures into Music Highly complex DNA structures can be tranformed into musical sounds, which might eventually be used to monitor sick patients. In the acoustic translation, harmony represents good health, and discord indicates disease. Finally auditory information will allow surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other physicians to be able to focus on their task and listen at the same time.

POPSConverting genetic activity into music may be a way to monitor health. Together, the notes would form a harmonic chord in normal, healthy states and become increasingly out of tune as key physiological signs go awry, signaling disease. Alterovitz employed mathematical modeling to determine relationships between physiological signals. Much like the various systems in an automobile, many physiological signs work in synchrony to keep a body healthy.

POPSThousands Flock to Revival in Search of Miracles Too many people claim to have "spoken to their god" and used the imagined status from this to cause problems for the world. Hardship for the people. It is as if they feel that they are capable of corrupting the image of that god to sate greed. Sad that something with the potential to do good, is so abused by greedy and corrupt people.

POPSCould an Acid Trip Help to overcome anxiety ? This is an important article. I believe that psychedelic drugs not only have highly valuable therapeutic properties, but they can serve when responsibly used, to expand one's consciousness and boost intelligence and creativity in many aspects of life. The use of psychedelic drugs is one of those case where something which is highly beneficial to the individual is arbitrarily banned by the 'system' because the system do not want us too conscious, or too creative, not even too intelligence. All these threat the stability of the system while promoting independent thought. It is worth mentioning that the family of psychedelic drugs DO NOT contain dangerous addicting drugs such as opium, heroin, cocaine, crack, meth, etc.
