Politican Cartoons
righthand
by righthand  9-22-2007    19
"The United States, some years back, found its new bogeyman "Islam" to replace its former imaginary enemy "Communism." And now the European press appears to have finally (?) found a replacement for the Jewish people that they used to malign and attack. Anti-Islam/Muslimism appears to now have officially replaced anti-Jewish sentiments in Europe. The roots of these attacks are the same: an inability to acknowledge and respect a diversity of people that might result in a Europe that is non-White and/or non-Christian. The anti-Muslim/Islam cartoons of today are little different than the anti-Jewish cartoons that were published by the Nazis during WW II."

A MUST for Windows Users! Get it NOW!!
closeupman

This s/w allows you to create alias for ANY folder. This is similar to what the web does with using names instead of IP address (e.g. www.cnn.com instead of 122.1.2.2). This program allows you to name say, c:\my documents\my pictures\family photos\wedding pics as simply Wedding Pics. Then whenever you want to get to that folder simply right click anywhere on the desktop, choose folder guide, then choose Wedding Pics. 3 whole clicks! You can also use this in 'Save As' dialogs. Simply right click in the area where the folders are and do the same thing. I don't know why Microsoft didn't include this as a default tool. I wonder if it's in vista or not. A great program that does something right....and it's FREE!!!

Dubya dissed by world leaders: Or is it? [SEE COMMENTS]
Spiritualmonkey
by Spiritualmonkey  11-20-2008    16
11/21/08 Okay, CNN has come out with the official explanation . Maybe it wasn't an official snub after all. Protocol & all that. I still bet Angela Merkel thinks Bush is a dick and that he'll be remembered as the WORST PRESIDENT EVAR! We liberals don't hate America, we love America. We just hate Bush and what he stands for and what he's done to the country. Nor do we think speaking bad of the Great Leader is disloyalty to the state like the right-wing Kool-Aid drinkers seem to. ORIG COMMENT: Notice how the WORST AMERICAN PRESIDENT IN HISTORY doesn't even make eye contact with Angela Merkel of Germany, nor she with him. Guess she figures getting groped on camera by a by him once before was enough. There's an old Irish saying that 19 world leaders seem to have gotten wind of: Touch the Devil and you can't let go.

I'm as much to blame as anyone, but i really am disappointed that the American people site by so idly while the Bush administration screws people so badly. It's great that we "disapprove" of them in polls, but when push comes to shove, we are allowing them to do whatever they want...and the results are truly sickening.

Without being an expert in how international affairs like this should be dealt with, I know that i've recently witnessed the military of one or more countries entering other countries to initiate change. Does the current situation in Myanmar not warrant this type of action!!?? Do the people of Myanmar not deserve some kind of outside help!!??

Female Fighters: We Won't Stand for Male Dominance
dulios
by dulios  10-7-2008    1
Back in 1998, the fighters say, their now-jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan declared the group "a women's party." It was initially difficult to accept, says Karim, a 42-year-old male member of the PKK. Today, the PKK's ideology revolves around a belief that global crises and injustice are a result of millennia of male-dominated rule. Here, the women run their own assaults and have their own command structure. All tasks are shared, both on and off the battlefield. Discipline is paramount to survival, they say, and weapons are always clean and never out of reach.

Mohamed Nasheed, a 41-year-old journalist and a former political prisoner, was among the fiercest critics of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, who ruled the Maldives for 30 years. Nasheed came to office last October in the country first multi party election. "No other citizens in the world in modern times have changed a 30-year-old regime so peacefully," Nasheed said in address. may he succeed to change sea level as well ? .. ))

No matter who wins the electoral college, the 2008 presidential election will be a historic one, as the nation will send either an African-American or the oldest first-term president to the White House. A McCain win would also mean the first female vice president in the nation's history. The 2008 presidential election has proved to be the most expensive in history. Americans are expected to head to the polls in record numbers. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/election.president/index.html?eref=time_us

Israel Using Cluster Bombs on Gaza
blueridge
by blueridge  1-4-2009    11
Cluster bombs do not "target" militants tightly, urban areas especially. "Collateral damage" is absolutely guaranteed. More evidence that Israel is not making war on just Hamas, but Palestinians in their "collective punishment" tactics. The first pic was posted on Drudge. The last link in this clipmark has posted the CNN video showing general news of the Israeli attacks on Gaza which inadvertantly captured these bombs in action. 93 nations have banned them, except for US, Russia, and Israel.

Silkweaver

"It took us a while to make that first breakthrough, but as soon as you have the first element of it working the rest often comes more rapidly," he said. "What we are doing now is trying to make the model better. What we showed is just one color, what we are doing now is trying to use three colors. The original display was four inches by four inches and now we're going for something at least as big as a computer screen." There are no more great barriers to overcome now, he said. The breakthrough has made some long-time researchers of the technology believe that it could now come to fruition.
