Global warming causes 300,000 deaths a year

Civil unrest may also increase because of weather-related events, the report says: "Four billion people are vulnerable now and 500m are now at extreme risk. Weather-related disasters ... bring hunger, disease, poverty and lost livelihoods. They pose a threat to social and political stability". If emissions are not brought under control, within 25 years, the report states: • 310m more people will suffer adverse health consequences related to temperature increases • 20m more people will fall into poverty • 75m extra people will be displaced by climate change. Climate change is expected to have the most severe impact on water supplies . "Shortages in future are likely to threaten food production, reduce sanitation, hinder economic development and damage ecosystems. It causes more violent swings between floods and droughts. Hundreds of millions of people are expected to become water stressed by climate change by the 2030. ".

Has Obama found that the Enemy is Us?
nuttyriv3r
by nuttyriv3r  4-22-2009
Barely clipped 1% of this article...worth a full read. --- The Tax Day Tea Parties revealed the other hot button issue for many Americans. When the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010 and Obama institutes his Cap & Trade energy tax, the economy will receive a double whammy. At that point the failed economic policies and higher taxes will lead to consternation and resentment throughout the land. The unending economic turmoil throughout the world will result in protests and anger in many countries. The more disturbing issue is how politicians will try to divert the attention of the masses through the use of an external threat.

"Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security. Deliberate employment of weapons of mass destruction or other catastrophic capabilities, unforeseen economic collapse, loss of functioning political and legal order, purposeful domestic resistance or insurgency..."

You could be a terrorist if...
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  3-24-2009
If you are a puppet-on-a-string assiduously following every law to the letter, enthusiastically nodding in agreement to everything the government tells you, patriotically turning in your neighbors for every infraction of the law (both written and social), then you have nothing to worry about. Many Americans, Republican and Democrat, have grown tired of the direction in which this country is headed. The once occasional lapse in ethics has become common place, greed and irresponsibility by our financial institutions are being rewarded in the form of ‘bailout’ tax dollars, citizens have to watch what we say and do and how we do it, self-interest has supplanted “doing what is right for this country”, special interest groups are favored over national security and welfare, food safety has been jeopardized in favor of profit. Civil unrest is brewing and FEMA detention centers are sprouting up across the nation. http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2004/FEMA-Concentration-Camps3sep04.htm

Russian Scholar: Obama Will Declare Martial Law, US to Breakup
blueridge
by blueridge  3-4-2009    2
...by 2010. Wild as this sounds Obama declaring Martial Law (using Bush's Executive Orders which he did not rescind) is a possibility. If gas prices go back to $5 per gallon (as some are saying by summer) this would provoke an outrage by Americans who would hold the federal government, banks, Wall Street, and oil companies responsible for all of their economic woes, in revolutionary fashion , which they are being forced to pay for in record federal spending. Obama would then bring down the Iron Fist system established by Bush since 9/11 called Homeland Security (and actually intended to control the American people, not terrorists). Why do you think the government has been rehearsing scenarios of "civil unrest"?
