POPSThe Globlization Of Gay Bashing "This destitute nation is the kind of place that you may have seen in late night infomercials where flies buzz around the lips of starving children. Yet, the good citizens of Burundi have time to chant and hold signs demanding the imprisonment of homosexuals. n Nigeria, lawmakers are debating a bill that would imprison gay people who live together and jail anyone who doesn’t rat out the gay couples. What we are seeing in front of our eyes is the globalization of gay bashing. The United States has exported marketing techniques and church structures to culturally homophobic countries. The sexual minorities caught in these nations do not have the same freedoms that we enjoy in the west, so they can’t fight back. They are essentially voiceless and fearful – allowing insidious myths and stereotypes to go unchallenged. With gay people effectively demonized and hatred promoted by civic and religious leaders, hysteria on gay issues ensues. "

POPSDeath Toll Rises to 10 as Clashes in Iran Intensify of the protests so far. The Shah’s forces never fired on protesters during Ashura, wary of violating the day’s sanctity. Obama Silent as Iranians Die for Freedom Iranian youth no longer chant “death to America.” Now they shout “death to the dictators” as they trample photos of Iran’s Supreme Leader. They also chant “Obama are you with us or with them ?” The reaction from the White House to the latest violence and the calls for recognition of the freedom movement? Silence. Once again, Obama doesn’t want to rock the boat with his hopes for a deal with the mad Mullahs who hold the Iranian people hostage to their warped ideology. Why won’t Obama adopt Reagan’s successful Cold War winning strategy? Because he was raised by a cadre of leftists who despised Reagan and resented the application of U.S. power especially when it was aimed at the Soviet Union with which many of Obama’s mentors and family had great sympathy.

POPSAnother school indoctrination chant The most effective way to influence people....put your message within a little bit of good. I'd have my child out of there in a heart-beat. I can easily tell them that their education is of maximum importance....don't need a chant.

POPSMore docs for healthcare change than against it Don't know where all the heat is coming from when most in healthcare want meaningful reform. Is it just that those who oppose the President want to win by trying to make him lose? Weird country this - at times like these. I know tons of folks who don't get the preventive and corrective care they need because they can't afford it. and then theres' my 70 year-old buddy who is doing great because he is fully covered because of his coverage from the VA and Medicare - two government run healthcare programs that some say we should be afraid of - go figure.

POPSProtests Resume In Iran With The Government-Backed Quds Day Ceremony
11.57am: At least 10 protesters have been arrested, according to Reuters. "Supporters of Ahmadinejad are beating supporters of Mousavi near the Vali-ye Asr street. At least two protesters were injured," it quoted a witness as saying. 12.02pm: Al Jazeera's Alireza Ronaghi, reporting from Tehran, said the security forces were out in force, attempting to keep opposition demonstrators away from Tehran University where Ahmadinejad was speaking earlier. "I didn't expect the protests to be as big," he said Another video appears to confirm that thousands have been involved in the protests today. It also seems to show attempts to prevent filming taking place. 12.57pm: NBC has released more of its interview with Ahmadinejad. In the latest segment, he defended the detention of three Americans, who have been held for more than seven weeks. They "trampled the law, and in accordance with the laws, they need to be punished," he said. The full interview will be broadcast on Sunday.

POPSTibetan Sky Burial - DO NOT LOOK!! if you are sensitive believe that a person re-incarnates after dying the body serves no real purpose. There is no need to preserve the body, as it is now an empty vessel. Birds may eat it, or nature may let it decompose. The body is cut in specific places, and left on a mountain top, exposing it to the elements. According to Buddhist teaching, this makes it easier for the soul of the deceased to move on from the uncertain plane between life and death onto the next life. So as barbaric as this might look, there is an actual purpose to this.

POPSObama Health Care Endorses Cannibalism
who energetically supported a plea from a 1972 Andes airplane crash survivor where 16 soccer team mates lived after 72 days of dining off the corpses of their companions until help arrived. Obama embraced survivor Jose Louis "Coohe" Inciarte in his efforts to promote organ donation as a key stone of his revolving health care plan. "No longer will you have to lament the humane death of your grandma," the President said, " for her heart will live on!" A Fox news reporter was shouted down when he attempted to link this comment with tribal Zulu warriors practice of eating the raw heart of vanquished enemies killed in battles. Outside the front yard was filled with protesters with hastily made signs proclaiming "Don't Eat My Grandma"....and other signs commenting " Eat Shit, But Not My Sister!" Rahm Emanuel was said to have jumped all over the opportunity to promote the new policy, in part encouraged by the recent arrest of New Jersey Rabbis accused of trading in fresh kidney

POPSDogging Lloyd Doggett: 'Just Say No' to Obamacare!
But as Phillip Klein indicates: The liberal effort to discredit American citizens who are expressing their views on an issue of vital importance is completely without merit, but it is instructive. It tells us that liberals know that despite their tremendous advantages in terms of resources and power in Washington, they are losing the health care messaging war. It’s becoming clear that Americans are not ready for a government takeover of the health care system, and they aren’t going to sit by idly while Democrats ram it down their throats. Congressman Doggett Urges Return to Fiscal Responsibility Official Government website On the House floor, I urged my colleagues to support the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act. This bill is an important step to restore the kind of fiscal discipline abandoned in 2002. If we have any hope to invest in the vital priorities that are critical to our economic future, including health care, education, and clean energy policies,

POPSWhy the #$%! Do We Swear? For Pain Relief There is a catch, though: The more we swear, the less emotionally potent the words become, Stephens cautions. And without emotion, all that is left of a swearword is the word itself, unlikely to soothe anyone's pain.

POPSThe Green Brief #21 (July 07)
. . . Rafsanjani himself has so far not supported this statement and where he stands is still unknown at this time. 6. There are partially-confirmed reports that Mousavi met with one, mourning protester’s family on Monday night. The protester’s father told Mousavi that his son was not very political, yet had taken a great deal of interest in Mr. Mousavi’s message. He also claimed that his son was not violent. Mousavi told the grieving family that the blood of the innocent never goes in vain. 7. After US Vice President Joe Biden’s statement yesterday, that suggested the US would not interfere if Israel were to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, Saudi Arabia was reported as offering Israel its airspace for any future attacks on Iran. However, Saudi Arabia today denied that it had made such comments. In the meantime, US President Obama has vehemently denied that Biden’s statements implied that the US had given Israel “a green light” to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
