Bank of England holds Base Rate
dreamzloanz

The Bank of England (BoE) has maintained interest rates at 0.5% for the eighth consecutive month. It is also pumping a further £25bn into its quantitative easing programme. Neil Young, chief executive of Young Group, said the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is unlikely to make any significant change to the base rate until the economy is firmly back on track.

ABC "V" TV SERIES PILOT PROMO TRAILER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQoSCEMzJYE Kenneth Johnson, who wrote and directed the 1983 miniseries (it spawned a sequel and then a regular network series over the next two years), took his inspiration from a 1935 Sinclair Lewis novel called It Can’t Happen Here that depicted an imaginary fascist takeover of the United States. The aliens in the original V were patterned after Nazis, and, just in case anyone missed the point, an elderly Jewish character who was a Holocaust survivor periodically hammered on the similarities. But ABC’s series takes aim not at a German dictator from the misty past but a sitting " and popular " U.S. president.

TV Series "V" -- Allegory or Propaganda?
blueridge
by blueridge  11-4-2009    4
Tyranny comes with a smiling face and a promise of "hope" and "change". It means to "help" but it intends to dominate. Don't miss this "negative light" clip -- so well portrayed how the media is subdued. Of course the crafty deceiver is played so perfectly and politically-correct, by a woman. It does seem to have an apt moral to the story, a warning of universal global domination under the pretense of kindness, hope, love with a lot of change--an potent warning against Global Governance that we are moving toward. Be sure, however, that it is propaganda of some kind that only Hollywood would front, and Hollywood is not to be trusted either. After all, Star Trek's "Federation" represents precisely the same thing of utopian world or universal governance, or World Federal Union , versus the "Cling-Ons" that resist it which are painted as evil.

Studies of a variety of natural processes, including ocean cycles and solar variability, indicate that they can account for variations in the Earth’s climate on the time scale of decades and centuries. Current climate models appear insufficiently reliable to properly account for natural and anthropogenic contributions to past climate change, much less project future climate. The APS supports an objective scientific effort to understand the effects of all processes – natural and human --on the Earth’s climate and the biosphere’s response to climate change, and promotes technological options for meeting challenges of future climate changes, regardless of cause.  If you haven't turned them back already, then don't forget to turn your clocks back. "Spring ahead and fall back," as the old saying goes. But, don't be surprised if you find yourself feeling just a little bit "dis-combobulated" today as a result of the time change. Personally, I have always experienced some difficulties when it is time to change the clocks. Apparently, I am not the only one. According to sleep researchers, many people experience disruption in their sleep patterns. Below, you will find some recommendations for how to minimize sleep disruptions and make sure you get sufficient sleep to keep on amplifying, clipping, clicking, tweeting, and blogging.

Electronic Waste - A Call For Change
celestialdancer
by celestialdancer  10-31-2009
It goes deeper into the way electronic gadgets are manufactured. People have noticed this for a long while but no one had/has done anything to change the real cause of this problem. No one questions why a perfectly good TV, stereo, printer etc has to get thrown away because a very minor part no longer functions and manufacturers make it more expensive to buy the replacement part that would fix it. So, it works out cheaper for people to throw it out and buy a new one. Everyone knows this, but why is this allowed to continue. Printers are soooo cheap, but the ink to refill is expensive. It is cheaper to use the printer once, throw it out and buy a new one compared to replacing the ink. The list goes on... Doesn't this have to change??? Isn't this the real culprit???

Britain's Lord Monckton Warns About Dangers of Climate Change Treaty - Video 10/30/09

Bolton thinks the treaty is dangerous, but is not prepared to go as far as Monckton yet. But he said it does have the potential to do great damage. Even if Obama signs it, it would require a two-thirds vote of the U.S. Senate to ratify the treaty and make us bound to the terms. Fascinating discussion. The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam By John Coleman January 28, 2009 (Revised and edited February 11, 2009) Back in the 1960s, this global warming research came to the attention of a Canadian born United Nation's bureaucrat named Maurice Strong. He was looking for issues he could use to fulfill his dream of one-world government. Strong organized a World Earth Day event in Stockholm, Sweden in 1970. From this he developed a committee of scientists, environmentalists and political operatives from the UN to continue a series of meetings. Strong developed the concept that the UN could demand payments from the advanced nations for the climatic

My books, accompanied by my speeches, caught the attention of a nation. I was hailed as an excellent orator, a powerful organizer, and an agent of change for my country." "I am calling for a new world order -- change that everyone in the world can believe in." "My country is experiencing one of the largest economic crises in its history. I will offer solutions. I will clamp down on big business and provide government options to take over the industry. Our current system rewards those that are greedy and exploits those that are economically weak. I will offer healthcare for every man, woman, and child in the nation." "I will remove the greedy from their posi

WARNING! Goodbye Sovereignty... Hello One World Government! - The Copenhagen Treaty December 09
The Infowarrior
by The Infowarrior  10-30-2009    6
Enjoy your freedom WHILE it lasts! You got a little over a month and counting down. The Treaty on Climate change will effectively end the sovereignty of nations, no liberty, no democracy, no vote. This is it, heads up! Global government by December 09? Will you stand by and let freedom, justice and sovereignty be signed away for profit and control. If you haven't made provisions for you and you family now would be (a little late perhaps) good time to do so, anything could happen, what with the swine flu, the redistribution of the wealth of the rich nations to the poor, the carbon tax etc. Given the current political & economic climate it would be foolish not have some sort of preparedness plan in case TSHTF.

Hope-n-Change Futures Are Down Across The Board
merrie
by merrie  10-29-2009
When asked about Obama’s policy agenda, in November 2008 the responses split 43/45 (Liberal/Moderate) while recently the split was 54/34 (Liberal/Moderate). These are just a couple of highlights of the questions and I encourage you to check out the interactive data for the suprising shifts in the publics attitudes, especially the priorities and the policy expectations. But based on the results it’s becoming clearer that the public perception of Obama 1 year ago is vastly different from the President the public has come to know. In fact, to use the formula of the President himself, the public thinking is, “This is not the Obama we thought we elected.” >>Read more http://powip.com/2009/10/hope-n-change-futures-are-down-across-the-board/

Maybe this is why Glenn Beck thought it was better that Obama got elected over McCain. McCain may have continued to "blur the lines" but with Obama in office, the difference in ideology of the Republicans is Stark and Bold... Let's hope Republicans and Conservative Independents can capitalize on it.

 * Media change of all kinds must expose and directly confront the mechanics of structural racism and systemic oppression. * Leaders from historically marginalized communities must be developed as effective media activists and strategic movement communicators. * Media policy advocacy and strategic communications are more effective when clearly relevant to the primary justice issues of the movement for racial justice, economic and gender equity, and youth rights. * Compelling communications and media activism campaigns must be both rooted in critical issues and coordinated across issue, sector, and region for national impact. * When justice sectors strengthen communications strategies, center the use of culture as a communications tool, employ winning frames and messages, and strengthen their influence over media rules and rights, the possibilities for transformative change skyrocket. “Transformative change” = a media landscape purged of the Right’s most powerful voices.

UN Signals Delay in Climate Change Treaty
merrie
by merrie  10-28-2009
But he indicated that Copenhagen most likely won't produce a treaty, but instead will push governments as far as they can go on the content of an agreement. "The secretary-general believes that we must maintain the political momentum established by the 101 heads of state and government who attended the climate change summit and continue to aim for an ambitious, politically binding agreement in Copenhagen that would chart the way for future post-Copenhagen negotiations that lead to a legally binding global agreement," Pasztor said.
