POPS Obama and The Union Thugs In St. Louis, Democratic Representative Russ Carnahan held a town hall meeting. In attendance at this meeting were members of the union S.E.I.U, Service Employees International Union. They were not wearing brown shirts, but wore purple t-shirts with their union logo on the shirts. After the meeting outside was a gentleman named Kenneth Gladney. Mr. Gladney was giving out or selling little yellow flags from the American Revolution, which pictured a snake with the words, "Do not tread on me." The union thugs engaged Mr. Gladney, a conservative in a heated dialog. During which a union thug punched Mr. Gladney in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, giving a union member the opportunity to kick Mr. Gladney while on the ground. Mr. Gladney had to be taken to the hospital as a result of this vicious beating from these brown shirt type thugs. Could you just see Hitler smiling? Mr. Gladney was interviewed by Neil Cavuto, and related the following in part:

POPSAnti-Obama Taxpayer Tea Parties steeped in insanity
The original Boston Tea Party was caffeinated by a very simple injustice: American Colonists refused to be taxed by a government that lacked any popular representation. That was remedied a few years later in a heroic struggle that stretched from Concord to Yorktown. So, if you'll excuse the mixed metaphor, what's the beef behind today's protests? The Obama administration is cutting taxes for all except the very richest of Americans. Reduced withholding is already showing up in millions of paychecks. Then again, this rash of tea parties is being organized not only by the pseudo-journalists at Fox News (with Glenn Beck, Neil Cavuto and Sean Hannity actively stoking the flames) but also by FreedomWorks, a conservative lobbying outfit headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey. I suppose it was Armey's constitutional if morally dubious privilege to have built an entire political career out of defending the wealthy. But are common folks actually going to dump Earl Grey into

POPSWhen in Doubt, Reach for the Friedmans Recent events have many times inspired a reach for the top of the bookshelf to pull down some old favorites, chief among them Milton and Rose Friedman’s Free to Choose: a Personal Statement. I suspect we wouldn’t find the Friedmans’ book on Rep. Grayson’s shelves. More’s the pity.

POPSNeil Cavuto Tells Glenn Beck He's Scaring People FTA: Cavuto: No, no, no. I am a realist and I look at it -- No, no no no. You are scaring people. And here's what you're doing -- Beck: I'm not scaring! I am letting them -- Cavuto: I am a big enough appreciator of history to know that we always get through these things. Now the government cannot -- Beck: And I believe that too. Cavuto: Then why are you doing this stuff in 2014 we'll all be eating lead? Beck: Because when the market hit 14,000 I said, 'Get the hell out of the market!' And when -- Cavuto: You, you will say -- people watch you in droves. Your ratings are through the roof. You're radio rock star. So everything you say, when you say it, they're gonna say, 'Gee, well, Glenn just said, you know, we're all gonna be dead.' ... I just think that you're scaring people. I love you dearly, because you are a rock star. I'm just saying, I look at it, I watch it in my office as I'm getting ready for my Fox Business

POPSBarack Obama Criticizes Fox News: Neil Cavuto Takes Exception aying 'I am convinced that if there were no Fox News I might be 2 or 3 points higher in the polls.' He goes on to say, 'If I were watching Fox News I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak. I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?' Of course, just because we challenge some of your economic assumptions senator, we say nothing about whether you like lattes or not. Um, it's just putting up with a little bit of the heat that maybe you're not getting in the media kitchen."

POPSBlaming the Victim It seems it's become de rigueur for the Conservatives to blame the victims these days. IMO, it shows how out of touch these conservative pundits truly are. BTW, for those not familiar, the SPLC is a watchdog organization dedicated to exposing hate groups and suing them out of business. They've done impressive work particularly against the KKK and the American Aryan party.

POPSBank Loans Have Not 'Dried Up' Such alarming comments never mention any facts. Why not? As Neil Cavuto recently noted on Fox Business News, the Fed reports bank loans every week. Contrary to many comments, consumer and industrial loans actually increased in the latest week. Troubled giant banks have cut back on lending, but smaller banks have picked up the slack. Consumer and real estate loans dipped insignificantly through Sept. 17, remaining much higher than they were a year earlier. If all the recent hysterical chatter about lending being "frozen" or "shut down" refers to anything real, it is not about banks loans (through Sept. 17) but about such arcane financial markets as asset-backed commercial paper or loans between banks. But this too is mainly about financial firms, not Main Street. Non-financial commercial paper increased from $156 billion at the start of the year to more than $204 billion from Sept. 3 to Sept. 17, dipping only modestly since then.

POPSBut She Attends a Church Where They Speak in Tongues She vowed to go all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. “Without question, litigation challenging the Secretary's decision will be of immense significance to Alaska and the nation,” she said. “I would not be at all surprised if the case is ultimately decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. As governor, I believe that my responsibility requires full State participation beginning at the trial court and ending with the last appeal.” On Fox News, in an interview with Neil Cavuto she explained her reasoning. “We don`t believe that this speculation, again unprecedented, on computer modeling could forecast the effects of climate change, to the degree that leaves us in a comfortable position,” she said. “It’s just too far out into the future, this speculative modeling.”

POPSLeftist Economic Nonsense It was astonishing to hear Maxine Waters openly discuss nationalizing the oil industry. She was talking to the heads of America’s oil companies, and she was a little worked up, so it was also possible to say that it was just one person, speaking impulsively in a moment of anger, and easily dismissed. What left most conservatives and libertarians staring in slack jawed wonder was when Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) stood before the press and advocated nationalizing the oil refineries. While most have known about the socialist beliefs of the left, what surprised them was the matter of fact manner in which they were suggesting socialist controls over the oil industry. Finally, the socialist trifecta was complete with Obama supporter Malai Lazu, of the non-profit group Oil Change International calling for “price controls” on Neal Cavuto’s “Your World.” As she simply put it, “When Congress can set prices, Congress can set prices.”

POPS Your Car Can't Run On Congress' Hot Air: Mark Steyn substantial, and reasonably foreseeable effect on the market, supply, price or distribution of oil, natural gas or other petroleum product in the United States." Er, OK. But, before we start suing distant sheikhs in exotic lands for violating the NOPEC act, why don't we start by suing Congress? After all, who "limits the production or distribution of oil" right here in the United States by declaring that there'll be no drilling in the Gulf of Florida or the Arctic National Mosquito Refuge? As Rep. Wasserman Schultz herself told Neil Cavuto on Fox News, "We can't drill our way out of this problem." Well, maybe not. But maybe we could drill our way back to $3.25 a gallon. More to the point, if the House of Representatives has now declared it "illegal" for the government of Saudi Arabia to restrict oil production, why is it still legal for the government of the United States to restrict oil production?

POPSRepublican Hypocrites Release Campaign Ads in Spanish More: Think Progress also noted: "Last fall, the owner of Philadelphia cheesesteak restaurant Geno's Steaks endorsed Giuliani. Vento became notorious for posting a sign in his restaurant that read: 'This is America. When Ordering Please Speak English.' " The Giuliani campaign posted a video clip of Vento's endorsement from an interview with Fox News' Neil Cavuto on the campaign's official YouTube site. In an October 3, 2007, Philadelphia Inquirer column, Monica Yant Kinney reported that during a visit to Vento's restaurant Giuliani told a local reporter: "Whenever I'm at Geno's, I order in English." As campaign cliches go, it doesn't get much better than Giuliani dropping by Joey Vento's neon palace in South Philly. The Italian American who wants to seal the border, bonding with the Italian American who once told a reporter that immigrants are infecting the U.S. with disease because "Mexicans play and drink out of the same water."

POPSThe GRATEFUL IGNORANT who watch FOX NEWS
This is so prototypical of a typical FOX NEWS broadcast. Whenever, I stumble upon a video of a Fox news item ... (Stumble, because I can't stomach even a few minutes of the so called News Source on my TV, since I've CONTRACTED THE BAD HABIT OF "THINKING") I can't help but think... (Darn, there I go again THINKING) WHO ARE THE IGNORAMUSES WHO NEED A DAILY DOSE OF THIS B.S. EVERYDAY? They must not listen or watch anything else but Fox, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Michelle Malkin and slanderous of all, ANN COULTER who recently said "U.S. is a 'Christian nation' and Jews needed to 'perfect' themselves into Christians" or the many other right-winged noise makers, to believe ANYTHING they have to say. Because if they would pick up a legitimate magazine or newspaper and glance at it or maybe even, "cringe", look at a different channel like... "OH NO", Link TV, FreeSpeech TV or PBS, they might develop that annoying habit of THINKING FOR THEMSELVES, too! :-?

POPSFox Business Channel To Launch In October News Corp. finally nails down a launch date for its much anticipated Fox Business Channel. It remains to be seen how the channel will position itself. Some observers have suggested that Fox might take a more Main Street approach to business news than the financial-market focus of CNBC. Either way, the acquisition of Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal would provide the fledging network with instant street cred. As CNBC awaits the arrival of the competing network, it has been adding distinctly Fox-like flourishes to its programming, such as the "Keeping America Great" tagline it uses to introduce some of its stories. - Louis Hau

POPSDemocrat Class Warfare Now ... here's where the frustration comes in. Cavuto asks Senator Klobuchar whether or not she thinks that the 35% of earnings that the richest 1% earn now is enough; whether or not that's fair. He asked this question three times, and three times Klobuchar refused to answer it. She would launch into a discussion of rising tuition rates and health insurance premiums in Minnesota. Now excuse me ... but in what way do comments on rising tuitions and health insurance rates constitute a response to a question as to whether or not a 35% tax rate is high enough for evil high-achievers?
