POPSHouse GOP Brings Transparency To HealthCare Bill Online The GOP will continue its online push against the bill on Thursday, when Rep. POPSJoe Lieberman must go. Sen. Lieberman has indicated he plans to join with Republicans to filibuster any health care bill that contains a public option. Alone, the Republicans don't have the votes for a filibuster. So by joining with them, Lieberman would be tipping the balance of power in order to sink health care reform. We need to push the leaders of the Democratic caucus to take a tough stand against Lieberman. "We need every vote. He's with us on everything but the war." Sign the petition

POPSGOP House members call for investigation of Muslim political activity Just to underscore how extremist the House GOP caucus is, this hysteria is all based on a new book entitled "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America." That's the source which these House members are using. In fact, one of the GOP House members, Rep. Sue Myrick of North Carolina, wrote the foreword to the book. One of the two authors of that book, Dave Gaubatz, maintains this website, where he's hawking the book through Paypal. In 2006, Gaubatz created a project called "Mapping Sharia in America", the purpose of which was to create a comprehensive map of every mosque and Islamic school in the U.S. This is what he wrote: It is our task to conduct an extensive mapping of all the Islamic day schools, mosques, and other identifiable organizations in the US and to determine which ones teach or preach Islamic law, Sharib.

POPS'Now We Have Proof' Jihadis Infiltrating D.C.
Noting that CAIR has tried to hide its strategy, finances, membership, internal disputes and much more from public view since its founding in 1994, Islam expert Daniel Pipes lauded "Muslim Mafia" for definitively exposing the "tawdry and often illegal inner workings of radical Islam's most aggressive organization in North America." "The revelations in this book should both put CAIR out of business and permanently discredit the Islamist cause," Pipes said. Undercover Along with declassified government documents, the book unveils thousands of e-mails, faxes and internal memos that were never meant for public viewing. "Muslim Mafia" also exposes the inner workings of the mob-like Brotherhood and explains its broader conspiracy of infiltrating the American government and "destroying Western civilization from within." "The evidence found in the investigation is incontrovertible," said co-author Sperry, noting that the book has more than 40 pages of footnotes and an

POPSObama Speaks At Congressional Black Caucus, Talked About What A Great Job He's Doing The New York Times is reporting today: Job seekers now outnumber openings six to one, the worst ratio since the government began tracking open positions in 2000. According to the Labor Department’s latest numbers, from July, only 2.4 million full-time permanent jobs were open, with 14.5 million people officially unemployed. And even though the pace of layoffs is slowing, many companies remain anxious about growth prospects in the months ahead, making them reluctant to add to their payrolls. Expect those numbers to increase even further if our president tries to push through cap-and-trade.

POPSObama: Legalize illegals to get them health care No, he wasn't planning on covering illegals with health care. That was a "Right Wing Scare Tactic". What he really meant is that he was going to make them legals first and then cover them. You libs better watch these "Right Wing Scare Tactics" . You may find out it is really the truth.

POPSSunday Morning Talk Shows Schedule: ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN If there’s one thing this White House doesn’t seem worried about, it is that Americans will get tired of seeing President Obama. His talk-show marathon will come after the speech on Wall Street today and a rally in Maryland later this week. The appearances will come at the end of a week in which the Senate Finance Committee will presumably have proposed its long-awaited version of a health care bill; the White House’s consideration of this idea suggests just how pivotal time this is in the health care negotiations. It’s also a reminder of just how much Mr. Obama is out there. As of his seven-month in office mark in August, he had done 114 interviews, compared to 37 by former President George W. Bush and 41 by former president Bill Clinton at a similar point in their administrations, according to Martha Joynt Kumar, a political science professor at Towson University in Maryland.

POPSPelosi Sees Support Ebbing for Afghan War Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D., Calif.), co-chair of the 82-member Congressional Progressive Caucus, said her group is unified in wanting to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. "The Progressive Caucus is pretty much together on what is going on in Afghanistan, in being against escalating and in favor of bringing the troops home," Ms. Woolsey said in a recent interview. "We will have to stand up to our own president."

POPSPres. Obama's Speech = Huge Progress
Once again our new President Obama stepped up to the plate and blasted another home run. His speech last night to a rare joint session of Congress (i.e. all our politicians), was firm, assertive, inspiring and pointed to real and positive changes, i.e. 1) no disqualifications for pre-existing conditions and 2) Not dropping people's health insurance when they get sick! Gads! -- Not needing is much I had no idea the health insurance industry was so cruel and so criminal...criminal, imo, that someone has insurance then when they get cancer their policy is NOT RENEWED! Wow...that's evil. (If you've been reading any of the 80 posts by merri today, or only listening to USA corrosive and toxic news, you may have missed the boat on where this is going: It's going to certain victory on the two (2) points mentioned above. It surreal the vile Republican spin that trys to drag Obama down, call things failed, and the dude hasn't even gotten up to bat yet! He hit this one out of t

POPSObama Makes Moral Case for Health Care Reform Obama did four key things in the speech. * He made the moral case for health care reform, referencing Senator Ted Kennedy many times throughout (read the Kennedy's letter to the president here), saying: "We are the only advanced democracy on Earth – the only wealthy nation – that allows such hardships for millions of its people. There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two year period, one in every three Americans goes without health care coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone." He made the reasonable case for bipartisanship He demonstrated that he will no longer suffer fools: And he provided the Congressional Progressive Caucus the cover it needs to pass a plan with a strong public option:

POPSPelosi will let Rangel hold post despite latest allegations FTA: There is also the danger of alienating members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), a large bloc of liberals in the Democratic Caucus. Many of them take pride in the fact that one of their members sits atop Ways and Means. Pelosi: Jan. 2006 ""It is long past time for the Congress to address the systemic Republican culture of corruption that has undermined the American people's confidence in this institution," Pelosi said. "I am proud that some of the best minds in our Caucus will be leading the Democratic effort to clean up the corrupt Republican Congress. These great leaders will work to restore truth and trust to the People's House." Hypocrite.

POPSSC GOP reps to discuss impeaching philandering governor He needs to be impeached since he has refused to resign. It's sad that his fellow Party members have to do this. Now if only those in Washington would impeach those of more serious *crimes* such as fraud, tax evasion, conspiring with our enemies, unlawful use of taxpayers money, etc....

POPSFAIR Spokesman lies about health Even the Congressional Hispanic Caucus — which Stein cites as pressing for inclusion of the undocumented — has issued a statement supporting coverage only for “legal, law abiding” immigrants who pay their “fair share.” In fact, the bill “severely restricts” health care benefits even for legal immigrants. Ultimately, Stein has his own agenda and it has little do with health care.

POPSHow Barack Obama Played the Race Card and Blamed Hillary Clinton February 27, 2008
The Obama mass mailings also attempt to appeal to Ohio's labor vote by claiming that Clinton believed that the North American Free Trade Agreement, signed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, was a "'boon' to our economy." More falsehood: In fact, Clinton had not said that; Newsday originally applied the word "boon" and has now noted the Obama campaign's distortion. In this campaign, Clinton has called for a moratorium on all trade agreements until they are made consistent with labor and environmental standards-- Ignoring all that, the Obama flyer features an alarming photograph of closed plant gates, having no connection to any action of Senator Clinton's, as well as the dubious quotation about her from Newsday in 2006. Newsday has criticized "Obama's use of the quotation" as "misleading ... an example of the kind of slim reeds campaigns use to try and win an office." As insidious as these tactics are, though, the Obama campaign's most effective . . . . .

POPSWe've seen this frothing, red-faced rage before People who can't handle change coming to their world reacting with rage and threats of violence: we've been through this before. More: And my lord, Eric Cantor, the number two guy over there, is Jewish. I mean the immediately came out and talked about how horrible it was for this swastika to be painted and said we need to investigate and find out who did it. And to have a Jewish member of the Republican leadership not say a word about that that is just beyond me. I don't understand that. And I'm bothered by that.

POPSConservatives Plan: Putting Patients First! It also expands the individual market by creating several pooling mechanisms. #3: Improve the Health Care Delivery Structure Physicians know the best care for their patient. That's why this legislation establishes doctor-led quality measures, ensuring that you get the quality care you need. It also reimburses physicians to ensure the stability of your care, and encourages healthier lifestyles by allowing employers to offer discounts for healthy habits through wellness and prevention programs. #4: Rein in Out-of-Control Costs A key concern in positive reform is reining in out-of control costs. This legislation does this by reforming the medical liability system. Also, the cost of the plan is completely offset through decreasing defensive medicine, savings from health care efficiencies, sifting out waste, fraud and abuse, plus an annual one-percent non defense discretionary spending step down.

POPSMexican Standoff: Obama Pressed to Renounce North American Union Nor is this coalition giving Bush a pass in this non-partisan issue: "The members and supporters of The American Cause hereby call on President Obama to renounce at the North American Leaders Summit in Guadalajara the failed and destructive Bush policy of moving the United States, Mexico and Canada towards any sort of union or integration.
