POPSHastings Court Prevents Defendant from Obeying the Ruling. This raises quite a few questions for the court and the press to research; 1. One could ask whether Hastings Court actually have any jurisdiction over a property placed in Spain? 2. If Hasting Court rules differently to the Spanish court…Which court order takes priority? 3. Why doesn’t DeCotta McKenna & Santafè not want to “waste the courts time” with a hearing? Could it be that the same law firm is more concerned with the fact that the Court in Spain have denied DeCotta, McKenna & Santafè`s Client any costs from 2004 and up till now, than they are about wasting court-time? 4. Could it be that the big law firm and especially Jon Sutton are not really keen on discussing the circumstances that have been going on in Spain and certainly do not want any questions asked about how the company could act on a mistranslated Court Order before it was even translated?

POPSIssuers Slashing Card Balances "And there can be a Catch-22: those with the fewest assets are the likeliest to receive a settlement offer, but they are also the least able to come up with the cash for that final negotiated payment. Some creditors, though, are helpfully letting people stretch this out over months."

POPSAmerican's Draconian, Catch 22 private aircraft security. This will be of interest to people with an interest in aviation or America's vanishing freedom. This is a write up by a pilot who recently attended a meeting held by America's TSA (Transportation Security Administration) at the Montrose, Colorado Airport. The TSA -- which has no funding to carry out this Security Directive (SD) -- is applying these draconian regulations to all airports that support any type of commercial operations. That would include airports WITHOUT control towers that may have one or two flights per day serviced by a small commuter airline with, perhaps, a 19 seat prop aircraft.

POPSSecond Amendment Under Fire: Gun Ownership in the Obama Era . . . . attempting to make it all but impossible for Illinois citizens to own firearms. It’s an insidious scheme which would force citizens to carry at least $1 million in insurance to own a gun. The kicker? There do not seem to be companies offering the kind of insurance Dunkin would require — something Dunkin presumably knew as he wrote his bill, since he is on the Insurance Committee of the Illinois General Assembly. It seems that Dunkin’s plan is to attempt to trap Illinois gun owners in a Catch-22 that would make it impossible for anyone in Illinois to legally own a gun because the insurance required doesn’t exist. Congressman Bobby Rush has introduced H.R.45, the Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009, Rush’s bill would dictate how firearms are stored in a gun owner’s home, essentially making it impossible to defend one’s home by making it illegal to store a gun where it can be readily accessed.

POPSThe Status of "Spaceship Earth" In his speech to the Royal Society, he will argue that when a model includes the whole Earth system it shows that "…when the carbon dioxide in the air exceeds 500 parts per million the global temperature suddenly rises 6ºC and becomes stable again despite further increases or decreases of atmospheric carbon dioxide. This contrasts with the IPCC models that predict that temperature rises and falls smoothly with increasing or decreasing carbon dioxide." The man is not solely alarmist. He believes that we should attempt to lower greenhouse gases, and minimize the destruction of forests; but he believes that that will simply not be enough. The bottom line, according to Lovelock, is that we will simply have to adapt.

POPSThe Status of "Spaceship Earth" What’s worse is that Lovelock believes that the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are underestimating the severity of climate change. He has labeled a report issued by the IPCC earlier this year as "properly cautious", adding that he believes the report leaves a tone of “we can fix this”, when there is none. He continues and adds that a possibly six to eight billion people will suffer food and water shortages, intolerable climates, and the extinction of entire ecosystems. Global Dimming - 47min:44sec

POPSMaterialists in catch-22 Note that "classroom banter" now qualifies as grounds for a federal civil-rights lawsuit, whereas soliciting oral sex from interns in the Oval Office -- hey, what kind of right-wing prude would object to that? Sexual harassment law does not prevent professors or anyone else from using positions of power to obtain sexual favors. That happens every day. What it does is punish the unattractive and awkward -- those who fail in the pursuit of seduction -- whereas the attractive and charming succeed, and are cagey enough to avoid legal entanglements. There are probably oboe professors who are getting all the undergrad action they can handle, but they are the cute and clever ones. It is only the clumsy rejects who get accused of harassment. If Title VII abolished one sort of inequality, it institutionalized another. And remember: Equality is for Ugly Losers!

POPSSunday's C-Span Opportunity: 3rd-Party Candidates Debate (cont.)Nader maintains that if he could get into the debates run by the Commission on Presidential Debates, his numbers would immediately climb because "two-thirds of the people don't know we're running." "It's a Catch-22." Nader describes the debate commission as "a two-party dictatorial company that doesn't want anybody else on the stage." The commission, created in 1987, is a corporation headed by two former chairs of the Democratic and Republican parties.
