Why America Will Survive George W. Bush
Kore7
by Kore7  11-10-2007    16
Otto von Bismarck saw how American blunders led to American power and allegedly said that God has a special providence for drunks, fools, and the United States of America. Walter Russell Mead (of the Council on Foreign Relations) puts Bush's 8-year stint in the White House into proper perspective. America's foreign policy has been short-sighted and often self-defeating from the get-go, alternately collaborative, passive, and interventionist. And, yet, miraculously, we always come out ahead. With the unstoppable rise of a global capitalist economy, Mead makes the case that America, for all its past and current faults, will continue to be the inevitable leader of this new international buoyancy. Not even our latest mistakes (unprecedented though they may be) can derail such a powerful incentive that is the modern American world trade system. Which means, more than ever, we're literally all in this together.

Pope correcting Jesus
Johanna_G
by Johanna_G  7-16-2007    13
I don't care what the pope says, I much prefer Jesus Christ's definition of a church, which I included in my cartoon today, says Bob Englehart, who created this cartoon, in his blog .

The image you have of your own face, is highly cartoonish.
einbar
by einbar  12-27-2008    3
Our visual cortexes are wired to quickly recognize faces and then quickly substract massive amounts of detail from them, zeroing in on their essential message: Is this person happy? Angry? Fearful? Individual faces may vary greatly, but a smirk on one is like a smirk on another. Smirks are conceptual, not pictorial. Our brains are like cartoonists - and cartoonists are like our brain, simplifying and exaggerating, subordinating facial detail to abstract comic concepts.

How to Run a Meeting Like Google
ericskiff
by ericskiff  10-22-2006    1

Cool racoons
euphoriajoca

These guys are so adorable and cute, they will definitely make your day! Just look how good they feel in their own skin and how funny they are. It’s like you’re watching a cartoon. If you’re feeling bad or depressed, these little fellas will surely make you feel better and bring a big smile on your face. I’m not sure if I’m OK with what that parent on the third photo is doing, but it seems that everybody can have children and be a parent. :D
