"They are the ones who help lock up criminals who violate the law, and yet they don't obey the law they're trying to enforce." POPSPresident Ihaveano Dinnajaket of Iran wins Nobel War Prize Dinnajaket's press secretary and minister for warmongering woke him with the news before dawn, because his wife Dawn sleeps in until 12.00, and the president felt "humbled", which is the name for his pet dog, a Western infidel called Derek, by the award, a senior administration official said. When informed by the Iranian Records Agency (IRA) that many people around the world and parts of Grimsby were stunned by the announcement, Dinnajaket's senior adviser, Ahmed Olunacy replied "Let's bomb Denmark." Not the first 100% lunatic to hold his country's highest office, Dinnajaket has called for world armament and is working to restart the stalled Cadilac in his car park.

POPSCalifornia going down the drain?
Sitting propped up against a lamp post, waiting for her number to be called, is Debbie Tuua, 33. It is her birthday, but she has taken a day off work to bring her elderly parents to the Forum, and they have driven through the night to get here. They wait in a car as the heat of the day begins to rise. "It is awful for them, but what choice do we have?" Tuua says. "I have no other way to get care to them." Yet California is currently cutting healthcare, slashing the "Healthy Families" programme that helped an estimated one million of its poorest children. Los Angeles now has a poverty rate of 20%. Other cities across the state, such as Fresno and Modesto, have jobless rates that rival Detroit's. In order to pass its state budget, California's government has had to agree to a deal that cuts billions of dollars from education and sacks 60,000 state employees. Some teachers have launched a hunger strike in protest. California's education system has become so poor so quickly that it is n

POPSTrailing Indicators: Out of a Job, Some Decide to Take a Hike I am surprised no one has written a site or app to allow people to plan all this out and for those looking for hikers to work to post their exchange, etc. Seems like it would be a nice little business, of course one would need to plan and schedule all this out before they hit the trail.

POPSNot Your Fathers Mobile Home Park
The roof is a butterfly roof for water conservation, a new design vernacular we are seeing more of. The wheels lift the structures well above the meadow, keeping the footprint of each hut to the barest minimum, making for a low-tech and low-impact design. The construction of each identical hut is very simple. It is just an offset steel clad box on a steel platform with a wood deck on top. Unlike a typical mobile home, less than half of the space on each structure is indoor space; outdoor decks comprise 55% of the usable space. While the interiors leave some design issues unsolved, the exteriors are well thought out. They are built of simple, durable and no-maintenance materials – steel, plywood and car-decking. No effort is made to soften this reality. The steel exterior is just allowed to rust naturally. The huts are “grouped as a herd” while each faces a view of the mountains (and away from the other structures), they are also gathered together as a unit.

POPSChange 4 Climage Change? Sure, Someone (else) Should Do Something! You don't need a psychologist to tell you why people agree there should be change but do nothing. If you own a car, are you going to voluntarily use it less? Without someone holding a gun to your head? If gas went sort of permanently up to $4.50 a gallon, the first thing most people would do would be to complain and try to get Washington to lower the price. It takes 15 minutes, on average to walk a mile. Are you willing to park you car one mile further away from your work and spend 30 minutes walking to and from work? Now you have your answer why people are not doing much about climate change - it's way toooo hard and distant from them to do anything.... duh.

POPSGun Control Bill H.R. 45 Not a Hoax: Universal Licensing Requirement Updated. This article in a blog (inaccurately mentioning "Senate bill") was deleted, but the House Bill HR 45 is real (proof here at Thomas/Library of Congress) , not "an internet hoax", although not proceeding with any sponsors.. It was introduced on Jan. 6, 2009 before Obama's inauguration. This COULD happen, though it appears dead now. "Owning guns is not a right, but a privilege", will be their mantra--the 2nd amendment of the Constitution be damned. This was how your owning a car has been used against you too, first licensing, then collecting your SSN and other personal data, then attaching all kinds of other requirements (from draft registration to property taxes, child support payments, et al) in order to legally drive or even park a car that you purchased yourself as a "free American". Do not buy into this "privilege, not right" rhetoric which they will soon begin to parrot.
