POPSThe Keyboard Commandos want Obama to be tough
To Brooks, the big question is whether Obama possesses "the trait that is more important than intellectual sophistication and, in fact, stands in tension with it." That is, whether the president is "a very manly, virile, manful person, and a firm believer in strict discipline, corporal punishment, and nude apartment wrestling." Oops, never mind. That last bit was Captain Ned. But it does get old hearing this cohort of Ivy League toughs -- most of whom one suspects haven't had even a fistfight since third grade -- describe every U.S. foreign policy issue as a testosterone test. One suspects it may not be Obama's virility they're worried about. Next came Cheney's devoted daughter. After President Obama paid a 4 a.m. visit to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to salute the flag-draped caskets of 18 American servicemen arriving home from Afghanistan, and to console their families, Liz Cheney appeared on -- where else? -- Fox News radio to suggest a cheap political stunt.

POPSAfghanistan: 'No Democracy~Just Islam' and Burn Obama Effigy Afghan university students shout anti-US slogans and hold a banner reading 'No Democracy; We want just Islam!' during a demonstration in Kabul on October 25, 2009. ISLAMIZATION WATCH More than 100,000 foreign troops are battling a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan, where violence this year reached its highest level since the austere Islamists were ousted by U.S.-backed Afghan forces in 2001. Thick plumes of smoke rose above the crowd as protesters set fire to a large effigy of what they said was U.S. President Barack Obama. "Death to America. Down with Israel," chanted one man at the rally, which was organized mainly by university students. Others threw stones and clashed with police but no casualties were reported. "No to democracy. We just want Islam," said one banner carried by protesters, many of whom shook their fists in the air. Captain Elizabeth Mathias, a media officer for U.S. and NATO-led forces in Afghanistan,

POPSPink Dolphin Have you ever seen a pink dolphin? Me either...but Believe It or Not!, here it is! Charter boat captain Erik Rue, 42, captured this image after the mammal first surfaced in Lake Calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary, north of the Gulf of Mexico in southwestern USA. He said: "I just happened to see a little pod of dolphins, and I noticed one that was a little lighter. "It was absolutely stunningly pink.” It is actually an albino dolphin. A close relation of dolphins, the Amazon River Botos, called pink dolphins, live in South America in the Amazon. USA Photo: CATERS NEWS

POPSIraqis have second thoughts over June 30 date for US troops to leave Instead, we had Iraqi leaders kissing up to the “death to America” leaders in Iran. Instead, we had local councils demanding to be paid off instead of working to rid their cities of al-Qaeda. Instead, we had power brokers in Baghdad sticking it to George Bush at every opportunity they had. The Iraqi attitude toward the United States is mutual among the 53% who voted for the guy who opposed The Surge. Now it is dawning on some Iraqis that having the U.S. military leave is not a good thing. Iraq had a choice to make. It could have been South Korea. Instead, it decided to be South Vietnam. Men in Iraq, start growing your beard now. The Taliban likes beards.

POPSThe Day of the Dead
Very moving take on what Memorial Day has come to represent to some people. Are we really any freer today for their dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? These are very different wars with very different goals than what America previously fought. There can be no honor in fighting an illegal war. Our military machine is geared toward rewarding soldiers for taking the lives of people who threaten our country, even if those people are defending their own country against US aggression. I’m not trying to disparage anyone whose head is filled with ‘visions of glory’ for fighting for their country. Those visions tend to evaporate pretty quickly when seen in the light of reality. The man responsible for getting us into this situation did it for many selfish reasons. To avenge his father, to create a financial windfall for his cronies, to stimulate our economy and to extend our reach across this planet. And who is paying for it? The bravery we need to see now is in stopping this madness

POPSAccused Somali pirate faces life in prison The Americans responsible for this should crawl into a cess pit and rot. This teenager is the prize of the might of American power. Ignore the fact that mining companies stuffed his land; or that foreign fishermen fished out his share of the ocean. How brave and hypocritical thou art, America. Ask why these people hate those who have no respect for them as people, exploit them and then shoot or jail those who complain.

POPS Don't Mess With U.S. OK, time for Executive Grow-A-Set Order No 1. You can call it the Obama Doctrine. Anyone engaging in acts of piracy or terrorism on Americans anywhere in the world or in areas where American forces are lawfully operating can have his coconut drilled at any time, based on the discretion of the commander on scene. No further discussion. You holding your breath? I’m not. Yes, Obama allowed U.S. forces to do their job. It would have been shameful if he didn’t. But it involved no strategizing or anything beyond a yes or no by Obama, and frankly didn’t require that. It means nothing more than a happy day for America and the Phillips family, plus some wailing in a couple of Somali villages. Unless Obama has a plan, and the will to execute it. On that front, to steal a phrase, he has not yet begun to fight.

POPSMerchant Marine Organizers Demand Their Bailout Here's Robert Gibbs, the most brilliant, educated, smartest, quickest, wittiest press secretary ever: GIBBS: The president has followed the situation closely, has gotten -- got updates throughout yesterday and today, and obviously his main concern is for the safety of the captain and the rest of the crew on the ship. And he will continue to -- to receive those updates. He's staying apprised of the situation. RUSH: Yeah, he's staying apprised of it. He's out there acting like an infomercial salesman trying to sell his new mortgage plan yesterday, keeping his distance here from the merchant marine organizers. But he's keeping tabs on the situation. We're all staying apprised of it, by the way. Experts: Possible ransom may protect US hostage Capt. POPS Lt.Col.(R) Allen B.West Calls For AG Holder's Immediate Resignation on every opportunity this Country could afford, is pure foolishness. It also represents a malicious narcissism and hypocrisy from someone purported to be of great education. I am a West Man, third of four generations of military servicemen; Dad World War II combat wounded veteran, older Brother Vietnam Marine combat wounded veteran, my serving 22 years active duty in 13 different countries and three combat zones, and my young nephew, Captain Herman Bernard West, commanding an artillery unit serving his second tour in Afghanistan. We are proud American black Men who certainly are not indicative of a “nation of cowards”. Holder’s comments are offensive to the legacy my Dad established for our family. Attorney General Holder, do not ever refer to my Country with such manner of disrespect. I have stood with Americans in many foreign lands, seen them everyday across this Nation, and we are not cowards!

POPSColombia: Fascist Generals Sacked for Deaths Sources in the attorney general's office said hundreds of soldiers were under investigation in similar cases. The 11 men disappeared from the poor Bogota suburb of Soacha early this year. Their bodies were found in mass graves near the Venezuela border in August and September.
