POPSObama Sets Trap for Republicans No matter what the Democrats say to the Republicans or anything that they try to put in there, it would only be a lie. They would sneak things in that none of us want. I believe we should wait until all of them are voted out. We get people in there who care about America and believe in the Constitution and then we can listen to them about health care. RUSH: Absolutely right. Absolutely right. The Republicans ought not get suckered by this and go anywhere near it. CALLER: Say "no!" RUSH: Say "hell, no!" POPSGeithner pushes for deficit commission Oh GAG! Just what we need; another 'commission' to milk tax dollars and tell us what we already know. The "soaring budget deficit" is a result of *your* Administration and Congress' policies. The people are not buying anymore of this "bring the people together" stuff. *You* fix it! *You* made a relatively small & manageable mess into a national disaster.

POPSPatrick “Patches” Kennedy is calling somebody else a “joke”? "During the famous “traditional Easter weekend” in Palm Beach in 1991, Patches and Teddy ducked out of St. Edwards and walked down to Chuck & Harold’s on Royal Poinciana Way." "It was 11:45 a.m. I saw the bar tab. In a half-hour, Teddy quaffed three Bloody Marys and Patches had three Long Island iced teas. This is not long after he’d gotten out of a detox center for his cocaine addiction, and he’s slopping down five-shot drinks, before noon. He’s never been all there."

POPSHolder Admits To Decision To Charge Abdulmutallab As A Criminal
Then there's Jennifer Daskal -- who just months ago was an anti-Guantanamo activist. Now she's in Justice's National Security Division -- working on detainee issues. All kinds of rules prohibit government employees from influencing policy to the benefit of their previous employers. If Katyal, Daskal and other conflicted Justice lawyers had worked for corporations, they'd almost certainly be subject to these regulations. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are hopping mad about the situation -- and rightly so. Months ago, Senate Judiciary Committee member Charles Grassley asked Attorney General Eric Holder to disclose who in the administration had previously represented or agitated for alleged terrorists. The AG's reply? "I will consider that request." In other words, f*** you. Put simply, the far left ACLU hacks appear to be controlling the Justice Department and the counterterrorism policies of this administration. And the President himself has abdicated ....

POPSNPO | Obama budget: Higher taxes on wealthy, less revenue for charity?
“It’s frankly surprising to see this proposal come back this year, it was very controversial last year,” said Tom Riley, vice president for communications at the Philanthropy Roundtable. “This of all times isn’t the time to take actions that would discourage charitable giving. The need for non-profits hasn’t been higher for a generation.” Roberton Williams, a senior fellow at the Tax Policy Center said the rule change would make it about 10 percent more expensive for individuals affected to donate to charity. He estimated that would correspond to a $10 billion drop in donations out of the $300 billion Americans give annually. “From the perspective of charities, they’re in a tough time right anyway,” Williams said. “Some charities have been seeing a drop-off in donations and charities themselves that have endowments are seeing a drop-off in return from investments. It’s a double whammy.” ___ SOURCE | http://dailycaller.twi.bz/a ___ SEARCH | http://go

POPSCongress’ New Secret Plan to Pass ObamaCare If that happens, then the game is over and the will of the American people will be ignored again. President Obama declared at the State of the Union, “here’s what I ask Congress, though: Don’t walk away from reform. Not now. Not when we are so close. Let us find a way to come together and finish the job for the American people. Let’s get it done. Let’s get it done.” This is a message from the President to Congressional liberals that he will support their efforts to ram through ObamaCare with all means at their disposal. The President showed his complete disconnect from the feelings of average Americans when he called for Congress to pass his health care proposal that has been rejected by the voters of liberal Massachusetts.

POPSObama to Propose $3.8 Trillion Budget
the National Science Foundation and the Census Bureau, which this year is conducting its decennial count of people living in the United States. The president is also proposing to cut back or eliminate 120 government programs, including projects by the Army Corps of Engineers and NASA's plan to return astronauts to the moon. It puts a three-year freeze on discretionary spending outside defense. That excludes the fastest growing parts of the budget -- entitlements like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as well as national security. The president will outline some steps tomorrow, including freezing non-discretionary spending -- spending that since 1995 has almost doubled in our federal budget," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on CNN on Sunday. According to the White House, the freeze would be $250 billion over a decade if those programs were to increase at the rate of inflation. "I think the presidents proposal on freezing non-security domestic .....

POPSJustice Alito mouths 'not true' I did not watch the speech. From what I've read already confirms to me that that was a good choice; especially considering that this President dares to voice *concern* over "...I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities." Does he think that we do not KNOW that they already are??!!!!

POPS Justice Alito's "You Lie" Moment? Schumer and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md) are trying to find a way to legislate around the Supreme Court decision. "All you have to do is read the dissent, the four justices who said this will defintely open the floodgates to big corporate special interests. Anybody who thinks that's not true is out of touch with the American political process." Van Hollen said. Van Hollen told POLITICO he expects to unveil the package in the next 10 days to two weeks. POPSZombie like Obamacare just won't die - Secret Deal will make it happen
Reid will provide to Pelosi a letter signed by 52 Democratic senators indicating they will pass the major changes, or “fixes,” the House Democrats are demanding. Reid also has agreed to bypass Senate cloture and filibuster rules and claim that these modifications fall under “reconciliation” and don’t require 60 Senate votes. To pass the fixes, he won’t need one Republican; he won’t even need Joe Lieberman or wavering Democrats such as Jim Webb of Virginia. His 52 pledged senators give him a simple majority to pass any changes they want, which will later be rubberstamped by Pelosi’s House and signed by Obama. This plan, of course, is a total subversion of the legislative process. Among the key “fixes” House liberals are demanding the Senate pass in reconciliation at some later date include a “carve out” for unions from the “Cadillac policy” insurance tax. The Senate plan funds their healthcare plan by heavy taxes on so-called “Cadillac” insurance plans. How you can stop

POPS Massachusetts; More Bitter Ironies forced to play the liberal foil to GOP superstar Scott Brown. “He’s out of the shadow of Ted Kennedy and he’s finally the senior senator, and he still is being upstaged by this new rising star within the Republican ranks,” said George Serra, a political professor at Bridgewater State College. Decades spent eclipsed by Kennedy were not easy for Kerry. “ ‘John Kerry doesn’t get anything done. John Kerry lives in the shadow of Ted Kennedy. John Kerry doesn’t deliver. Blah, blah, blah,’ ” Kerry told the Herald in an October 2008 interview. “I’m sort of tired of that, actually. I’m going to fight back a little harder to make sure people understand that that’s an insult to my staff when people say that.” On Capitol Hill this week, Kerry’s office was filled with reporters and cameras, but they were following the newly elected Brown. It’s like a weird and terrible destiny. Not quite a Kennedy, not much as a senator, not quit a president,

POPSTough Questions For Eric Holder On Bombing Suspect
referring to the officials who apprehended Abdulmutallab when the plane landed in Detroit. American agents questioned the accused terrorist briefly before he was taken to a hospital to be treated for burns suffered in the attempt to set off explosives hidden in his underwear. After that, Mueller testified, "in consultation with the Department of Justice and others in the administration," the agents read him his rights. And that was that. "Isn't it a fact, that after Miranda was given ... the individual stopped talking?" Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions asked Mueller. "He did," Mueller answered. But Mueller declined to say who made the decision to grant Abdulmutallab the right to remain silent. The issue is enormously important because Abdulmutallab, newly trained by al Qaeda in the terrorist group's latest hot spot, Yemen, likely knows things that would be very useful to American anti-terrorism investigators. He's not some grizzled old terrorist who's been sitting .....

POPSThe comfortable ignorance of gradeschool propaganda about superiority, democracy, rights that exist only on paper
With the passing of Martin Luther King day, it is appropriate to evaluate how far we've come, as Rep. John Lewis does. He calls for us also to rededicate ourselves to "building an America where all are treated equally and every eligible American can cast a ballot and have it counted." Rep. Lewis, who risked life and limb to fight for voting rights for Blacks, knows that of which he speaks. And so I find it interesting, and telling, that he talks not of working to keep the right to have one's vote counted but of working to build an America where every eligible vote is counted. In his video he talks of some of the things that were used to discourage or prevent Blacks from voting. No matter that they technically had the right to vote, in practice, tricks were used to deny that right. That should have been illegal, right? Well we White folks do tend to believe that laws that are enacted are also enforced; but the history of Black America since Reconstruction is all about rights
