POPSBye for a While Clipon couldn't resist this clip... More than that though, I really am just getting more and more frustrated with my connection on clipmarks. It is still very temperamental and popping, comments etc just aren't getting through. I read the clipmarks blog - it seems they are planning an overhaul. So, I might just have to give this a break for a while and hopefully it will sort itself out. I can't seem to find out what the problem is with my connection. It is not happening with amplify. So see you at some stage in the future. Thanks for all your great posts, fun interactions et al.

Such revisions make paleontology a science of second thoughts. Reconstructing the history of life, researchers thrash out theories of ancestry, behavior and biomechanics guided by hints from ancient bones. Archaeopteryx -- combining the feathers, wishbone and wings of a bird with the reptilian tail, teeth and claws of a dinosaur -- had already become a question mark. Newly discovered fossils have prompted scientists to revamp their assumptions about archaeopteryx's distinguishing features over the last decade. A cornucopia of fossil finds in China demonstrated that feathers coated many dinosaur species, not just birds. The newest finding, though, demonstrates that our understanding of even well-studied fossils like archaeopteryx -- scrutinized, measured, modeled for 150 years -- can still be upended.

POPSGood-Bye Senator Kennedy Some of this stuff is over the top, but I like it anyway. Kind of marks the end of an era and, truthfully I'll miss him. And his brothers. I also hope that people use his memory as an inspiration to get going, rather than as an excuse to give up.

As such, every good-bye is a premonition of disintegration, a foretaste of death, another step on the path to "adieu." Have you noticed that old folks tell the same stories over and over? They are desperately trying to shore up identities that, because of a paucity of recognition, are breaking down. By telling us their stories, they are staving off the disintegration of self, one day at a time. You can't really blame them--their struggle is at once heroic and tragic.One day, you too may need a comprehending ear to offset the recognition deficiencies that plague old-age... <<
