POPS Washington and the Jobs Market The larger measure of joblessness that includes marginal and part-time workers jumped 0.5% to 17.5%. And the average hours worked in a week stayed the same at 33.0, which means that millions of Americans working part-time will have to become full-time before employers start hiring new workers. If Democrats really want to create jobs and save themselves from a debacle in 2010, their best policy option is to stop creating so much investment uncertainty and additional barriers to business hiring. Stop trying to raise business costs by making it easier to unionize via "card check." Stop trying to raise energy costs with a cap-and-tax bill. Stop adding to the deficit and future tax burden with a 12% increase in domestic spending for 2010. Above all, stop trying to ram through Congress on a partisan vote a health-care bill that imposes a 5.4-percentage-point income tax "surcharge" on anyone making more than $500,000 a year......

POPSU.S. Offshoring and Multinational Corporations Perhaps the ultimate expression of capitalism results in the export of jobs to lowest-cost countries to enable what used to be “American companies”, now multinational corporations that have the sole goal of maximizing their corporate profits. The ultimate political expression has evolved to a sector of the world that is, in effect, ruled by multinational corporations. What is worse is that these multinationals fail to realize that ultimately they are undercutting their own profits and shrinking their own market by underminding their own profit center in formerly prosperous prime economies. The bonus from offshoring can only last so long and is highly subject to proper application and use within a given multinational corporation. Offshoring is not a cure-all for corporate profits, nor a real solution for long-term benefit to anyone. No government contracts should be given to multinational corporations, ever!

POPSCDC Massive Misinformation Campaign: Error Rate Up To 97% Back then, the media was all over the shortage and the incompetence it exposed. Once again, the vast majority of the vaccine will have been made available too late to have any significant impact on the spread of the disease. Whether it will have any impact on the public’s perception of the government’s competency to control health care is a matter of speculation, entirely, but it seems liable not to help. And that is perhaps why Obama determined that this is the moment in which it was most propitious to declare an emergency, so that when the epidemic ends he can recycle his rhetoric regarding jobs created or saved. Whether the administration will use the declared state of emergency to stifle the babblings of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan remains to be seen. Likely the decision will be made by CDC poobah Eric Holder.

POPSIs Obama pushing to intentionally make America a 2nd-rate world power Put us on the fast-track with no stopping the train wreak. I am stunned by how quickly this is all happening. Does the average hardworking American deserve this? While we were busy doing our jobs, serving our Country, not watchin' Oprah or Homer Simpson.... our Government has been bankrupting our system and bringing us down.

POPSThird Stimulus? Thanks, But You’ve Already Done Enough Damage Already
Sure just keep throwing money at the problem since we have ‘proof’ that it works so well. Abraham Maslow said, "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." The government has spent almost one trillion dollars trying to stimulate the economy. That's one expensive hammer. How exactly are they planning to stimulate the economy this time? First, is to extend unemployment benefits. Secondly, they will extend a tax credit for first time home buyers. Finally, the Associated Press reports a possible extension of subsidies for COBRA. I think it is high time that Congress roll up their sleeves and actually work out a successful method instead of repeating their lazy-man’s-mistakes of the past. The most logical stimulation plan is one that would allow business to produce and trade without government interference. This would free the government to do what it was intended to do, namely, protect its citizens rights as laid out in the constitution.

POPSTop Percenters - Raise our Taxes Now We would see a minimal tax increase -- from 35% to 39.6%, a rate still far lower than the one under President Reagan -- but the increased revenue would raise an estimated $43 billion per year. The group’s founders include Chuck Collins, who inherited some of the Oscar Mayer meat fortune and who has long been involved in agitating on income-inequality issues. He may be best known for co-authoring the 2003 book "Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes" with Bill Gates Sr. The book made the case for retaining the federal estate tax. Wealth for the Common Good on Tuesday sent its request to President Obama and to House and Senate leaders, including a petition with more than 1,000 signatures.

POPSThe Dollar: Like it Or Not Change is Coming Last week we learned that the national debt is likely to grow by more than $9 trillion. That's not great news -- no one likes a big deficit -- but President Obama inherited an economic mess from the Bush administration, and the cleanup comes with an inevitably high price tag. We're paying it now.

POPSWe need national health care because lack of insurance kills people More: Want to know something even better? The constitution we shoved down the throat of Iraq, requires healthcare for everyone . Pretty good inn't? George Bush, and his neo-con cabal (the folks who believed the parades would last, even after the random raids and the abuductions started) insisted that First: Every citizen has the right to health care. The State shall maintain public health and provide the means of prevention and treatment by building different types of hospitals and health institutions. Second: Individuals and entities have the right to build hospitals, clinics,or private health care centers under the supervision of the State, and this shall be regulated by law. But here, in the wealthiest nation on the planet, with (we are assured) the "best healthcare in the world,"people die from the flu, because they can

POPSMy Czars are Bigger than Your Czars Staying in the fast lane, right-wing nut jobs have dived into the non-issue of how many "czars," does the President have. Of course, to understand the Republican wing nuts one must sign onto a lot of flights of paranoia and fantasy: The U.S. doesn't have any post called a "czar." So...if trying to fill in the pot holes in their Republican smear campaign heads...they must mean "middle management positions," or something like that. Even worse, if trying to find a flake of facts in these right wing rants, the truth turns out to be like jackass and jerk, "Got It Wrong Congressman Wilson," who LIED when he called the President a liar, it turns out that George Bush had more "czars," that Obama, as this video concludes. I.E. - The Bush Era has more middle managers....or whatever the heck the wing nuts think of as "czars." Their Alice-in-Wonderland smear circus is like a dog chasing its own tail.

POPSConservative squashes freedom of speech to destroy the Green for All Movement Looks like the Bush Commission is still having a stifling effect on the First Amendment- Freedom of Speech. The question of whether or not Former President Bush and Administration "allowed 9/11" to happen is pretty much irrelevant- the information that attacks were imminent was circulating within the government and it was not acted upon. Most people have probably forgotten that because Bush launched a war on Afganistan practically the same day the news came out.

POPSWhy Can’t The Silver-Tongued Post-Partisan Healer Seal The Deal? by Mark Steyn
population outside the current system, why is it necessary to destabilize the arrangements of the 90 percent within it? Well, says the president, not so fast. Lots of people with insurance run into problems when they change jobs or move to another state. Okay, In that case, why not ease the obstacles to health-care portability? Well, says the president, shuffling his cups and moving the pea under another shell, we’re spending too much on health care. By “we’re,” he means you and you and you and you and millions of other Americans making individual choices over which he casually claims collective jurisdiction. And that, ultimately, gets closer than anything else he says to giving the game away. For most of the previous presidency, the Left accused George W. Bush of using 9/11 as a pretext to attack Iraq. Since January, his successor has used the economic slump as a pretext to “reform” health care. Most voters don’t buy it: They see it as Obama’s “war of choice,” . . .

proposed healthcare overhaul, in which some conservatives accused him of socialism. Obama’s ratings seem likely to rise again if he wins passage of healthcare legislation this fall. One such episode came to a head Sunday when Van Jones, Obama’s green jobs czar, resigned after a week of criticism over past inflammatory statements and for signing onto conspiracy theories questioning whether the U.S. government played a role in the Sept. 11 attacks. In another episode, some conservatives have criticized a White House dinner invitation issued to the lead lawyer in the American Civil Liberties Union lawsuits that have forced the government to disclose Bush-era interrogation techniques. The lawyer was invited to an event for the Muslim holiday of Ramadan. And Obama’s plan to address the nation’s schoolchildren Tuesday has prompted an outcry among some conservative parents and GOP officials. Some of them have accused the White House of trying to infuse “socialism”

POPSU.S. Bush Era AG 2B Sued, Judge OK'd
The Bush Era house of cards is indeed, falling. The scam here was to arrest and hold people in jail...a U.S. citizen...without charges, without trial, without his one phone call, without a lawyer - subject them to harsh conditions, screw up their life, and do all this based on the claim they were an important "witness," that needed to be held in custody for someone else's trial. This was a scam deliberately used to circumvent the laws that protect our civil liberties that are suppose to prevent this type of mistreatment. Trying to sue a police officer or the country's head prosecutor btw, is about as difficult as landing a man on the moon - they have a lot of 'extra protections,' because of their jobs (or else people would be suing them everyday) -- so for a federal court to say this case should go ahead is significant. Significant, as in: You can run but you can't hide. i.e., justice is coming. Putting such law-breaking former politicians in jail is NOT "politics," -- it's

POPSCrazy Conspiracy Theorism Disavowed The evidence that President Obama's "Green Jobs Czar" is a total radical continues to grow. Gateway Pundit is now reporting that Van Jones in addition to having said he was a communist in the past, also signed onto the radical 9/11 "Truther" statement. "Truthers" believe President George W. Bush and the U.S. Government were responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States, or at the least had foreknowledge and did nothing to try and stop it. Below you see the image of Jones' name listed among 100 prominent Americans who had signed onto the statement. POPSObama "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones Signed 9/11 "Truther" Document That is a Pandora's box they don't want to open. They are still actively trying to protect Obama. POPSCIA used mercenaries for assassination program
It's practically a full-time job keeping up with the war lies, war crimes and war ugliness, more revealed everyday. Assassination, btw, is officially against current USA law --- but the CIA, with the encouragement of Bush and Cheney, just decided to ignore this law --- and others laws as well: from torture to protection of civil rights: they felt, apparently, the law did not apply to them. That's always very dangerous, a dark road to fascism. Just 'restoring adherence to the law," by President Obama, has already made things better....better if you believe in human decency. Bounty hunting is not new, btw. The British, the Spanish, the Mexicans and the Americans all gave bounty for Indian scalps. Fascist also can 'hire,' folks from prison for a cartoon of cigarettes and TV privileges to ax murder people, - and, like murder for scalps, it's done. So we can't let warmongering Republicans, neo-cons, racist and right-wing nut jobs back in power. Defeat them remains hig

POPSUnemployment, A Look Inside the Numbers That implies that the precipitous drop in employment, which had occurred earlier in the year, is leveling off. However, those people are not getting their jobs back. And what we could have is a chronic unemployment on a European scale, which we have not seen in America for a long time. On Democrats continuing to denounce protesters at health-care town halls: Look, Democrats are out of control on this. Under Bush, dissent was the highest form of patriotism in America. And now it's a form of Nazi insurrection. Last year community organizing was such a high calling that the Democrats elected one to the highest office in the land. And now if you organize a community it's called a mob... Krauthammer's Take

POPSWords A Matter Of Public Record "Earlier this year, Mr. Obama assured us that most of the stimulus money "will go out the door immediately." But it hasn't. Only about 7.7% of the stimulus has been spent in the six months since its passage, and more of it will be spent in the program's last eight years than in its first year. So now the president claims he said something different. "We also knew that it would take some time for the money to get out the door," Mr. Obama said in his weekly radio address on Saturday. One problem with Mr. Obama's stimulus bill that is rarely talked about is that it will force a huge, and likely permanent, increase in discretionary, domestic spending. That portion of federal spending was $393 billion in President George W. Bush's last budget. Democrats immediately raised it to $408 billion for this fiscal year and now face the question of whether to make the stimulus a one-time expenditure or a permanent spending increase."

POPSCheney tied to cash theft and possible murder in Iraq The case against Dick Cheney just keeps getting better. One of the biggest threats to American freedoms is now being tied to a ‘spoils of war’ cache and a murder. This is the only place I have heard this charge, so the source is a bit suspect. But given the state of ‘fairness’ of our main stream media I am not surprised that this is the only source. On November 14, 2005, “In one of the worst intelligence fiascoes carried out by the neocon administration of Iraq under Paul “Jerry’ Bremer, Saddam Hussein’s chief money mover and financial adviser was beaten to death by US interrogators in Tikrit after the U.S. invasion. After Samara was occupied by US forces, it was discovered that Abu Seger lived in a home on the Tigris River just 200 yards from the main U.S. military position in the city. It did not take long for U.S. troops to break down Seger’s door and haul him off to a detention center.”

POPSBig Labor insolvent?
How badly have the unions handled the money? -------- Alarm is coming even from inside the AFL-CIO — specifically, from Tom Buffenbarger, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, who sits on the AFL-CIO’s finance committee. Bloomberg News reports that he is circulating a report claiming the AFL-CIO engaged in “creative accounting” to conceal financial difficulties heading into last year’s Presidential election. As recently as 2000, the union consortium of 8.5 million members had a $45 million surplus. By June of last year it had $90.6 million in liabilities, or $2.3 million more than its $88.3 million in assets. “If we are not careful, insolvency may be right around the corner,” Mr. Buffenbarger warned. … ----------------- As for the SEIU, as recently as 2002 total SEIU liabilities were about $8 million. According to its 2008 disclosure form, the union owed more than $156 million, a 30% increase over the $120 million it owed in 2007. I

Because while you were paying your union dues and watching American Idol, they were rigging the system with ACORN and a news media that functions as nothing but a propaganda arm for the progressive state. They kept you sedated with Oprah telling you you could avoid aging by injecting estrogen into your vajayjay. Your brain had already turned into mush by the time the evening news was on, and you stared glassy-eyed at the screen while Katie Couric chirped about how everything bad was Bush’s fault. Worse yet, you believed them when they promised you free health care, free education for your kids, and free “green jobs” and they could pay for it all with other people’s money. And you went along with it, because you were so, so mad at George W. POPS The Obama Numbers Are Pure Fiction Mr. Obama's comments yesterday are a perfect illustration of just such a claim. In the months since Congress approved the stimulus, our economy has lost nearly 1.6 million jobs and unemployment has hit 9.4%. Invoke the magic words, however, and -- presto! -- you have the president claiming he has "saved or created" 150,000 jobs. During a March hearing of the Senate Finance Committee, Chairman Max Baucus challenged Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the formula. "You created a situation where you cannot be wrong," said the Montana Democrat. "If the economy loses two million jobs over the next few years, you can say yes, but it would've lost 5.5 million jobs. If we create a million jobs, you can say, well, it would have lost 2.5 million jobs. You've given yourself complete leverage where you cannot be wrong, because you can take any scenario and make yourself look correct."
