POPSChevron: Will You Join Us? Don’t Be Stupid
It’s time to recognize Chevron for the hypocritical, phony, band-wagon-jumping, contemptible, lying, bastards they are. The con game they are manufacturing against America’s common sense to make us believe they care about what is happening to the environment and us while providing a lifeline for the oppressive and murderous Burmese regime is disgraceful. http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20071002_chevrons_pipeline_is_the_burmese_regimes_lifeline/ They orchestrated a coup against the US House of Rep last year in the wake of the juntas crackdown on it’s citizens by arguing that if they didn’t maintain access to Burma’s rich gas fields then someone else will. And our fool reps, with dollar signs in their eyes instead of compassion in their hearts, bought it. This has only emboldened Chevron to pull that same wool over the publics eyes so they can stay in a business that enslaves indigents and props up a Fascist government all in the name of profit. POPSObama Ad Links McCain, Abramoff Pretty straight forward. It'll be hard for McCain to weasel out of this one -- although there won't be any shortage of media figures willing to help him along. I'd like to see this followed up with McCain's ties to lobbyists and the way he swaps positions for campaign cash. Someone's got to cut that "straight talkin' maverick" BS out from under him.

POPSAP Calls BS on McCain Ad The story, from Associated Press, goes on to give McCain's defense of the ad: In support of its ad, the McCain campaign cites the nonpartisan Web site Factcheck.org, which has been critical at times of McCain's spots, contending they contain false or misleading information. For example, the site says McCain's charge that Obama would raise taxes on small businesses is false, contending that the vast majority of small-business owners would see no change and that many others would see their taxes fall. Annenberg Fact Check hasn't reviewed this ad yet, so citing them as backing it up is more BS. The McCain campaign is lying when they says someone else is saying they aren't lying... Makes your freakin' head spin, doesn't it?

POPSFact Check Calls BS on McCain Ad The piece goes on: Reporters were not allowed to accompany him when he visited wounded troops at Walter Reed Medical Center on June 28. The small "protective pool" of reporters that routinely accompanies him was told by Obama's staff to remain outside, in the van, according to a reporter covering the campaign. Similarly, Obama visited wounded troops in Baghdad earlier in his overseas trip, but he did so without reporters and "without a lot of fanfare, just to say 'Thanks'," according to Democratic Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, who accompanied Obama. In short, McCain's "straight talk express" once again takes a detour through liar country.
