POPSIs McCain another George W. Bush? "George Bush's record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure. And the part that troubles me most is he seems content with himself." "He will leave office with the country $10 trillion in debt, fighting two wars, our international reputation in shambles, our government cloaked in secrecy and suspicion that his entire presidency has been a litany of broken laws and promises, our citizens' faith in our own country ripped to shreds. Yet Bush goes bumbling along, grinning and spewing moronic one-liners, as though nobody understands what a colossal failure he has been." "I fear to the depth of my being that John McCain is just like him."

POPSFuturistic Excavation However, Weyrich noted, Princeton's system will never replace the experience, contextual knowledge and "soft skills" that conservators and archaeologists bring to the table. "Reconstructing these frescoes is incredibly complex, given the condition of the fragments and the sheer number of fragments," said Weyrich. "The computer takes over the laborious parts of the process while leaving the important, intuitive decisions to the humans." i wonder when this will change as well.

POPSComputer Models Suggests Mid-West Droughts...Oops Floods…the opposite of droughts. Of course, today these alarmists are pointing at the floods in the Midwest and saying, “I told you so, here is proof of global warming.” In that case, what isn’t proof of global warming, and how does one go about debating these sorts of incongruities? Unfortunately, the media and politicians have not done a good enough job of making prophets account for their past errant prophetic utterances. Instead, they accept as fact whatever dubious claims Hansen and Gore happen to be making at the moment.

POPSBestObamaFacts.com: New People's Website There is more to see on BestObamaFacts.com - but those glorious truths that have already been featured on the People's Cube. The truths posted above are the most current and original ones. The Obama site was not designed to have input from the masses (naturally). Therefore, if you know a truth about the Obama that hasn't been listed, here is the place to post it.

POPS"Haughton's Drop", Hanging, Dublin Zoo, Darwin, Wallace, history Haughton House in Dublin Zoo is being restored to its ancient glories in honour of the great patron and scientist. On a visit to Bronx Park, New York he became a bit bored by the record of perfection which he received on all sides, so he enquired about the financial aspect of the institution: how did they pay for their obviously princely expenditure? So-and-so, he was told, but of course the main source of income was gate-money. “What ?” asked Haughton, “do you mean you charge people to get in?” “Of course; don’t you?” “Oh! no - we let them in free; then we enlarge one of our celebrated lions and charge them to get out! We do better that way.”

POPSHillary's CUTTING OFF NOSE TO SPITE FACE! Now read this article of more Hillary nose destruction... http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/04/hillary-clin-10.html Hillary Clinton dissed party activists and MoveOn.org Apparently Hillary Clinton hasn't always been enamored with the rambunctious nature of the historic fight for the Democratic presidential nomination. Speaking to financial backers after Super Tuesday, she blamed the party's activists and MoveOn.org for her early primary and caucus defeats, according to an item over at The Huffington Post. "MoveOn.org endorsed -- which is like a gusher of money that never seems to slow down," the item quotes Clinton as saying (there's audio on the site).

POPSPeru meteorite may rewrite the record books
I suppose that's what record books are for, but there do seem to be a lot broken lately. The fact that this was going 50 times faster than expected is deep for more reasons than one. A faster object can have the effect of a much larger object. The size factor may mean we can get a puncture in the crust instead of a crater. Which may also mean an entirely different result. There is the basic physics equation Force=MassxAcceleration. The force involved in the case of a meteorite like this is the amount exerted by the planet to bring it from 24,000kph to a dead stop. Of course scientists are not only as surprised as they ever are, but there has to be another set of rules made, which means back to the drawing board. I'm sure the next thing they should do is build a bigger drawing board. Maybe they need to their calculations in pencil. There's the problem that every meteorite is unique, but there are many things that are likely to strike before a meteorite. Many are self destructive.

POPSThe Fastest Production Cars Ever The McLaren F1 was formerly the fastest street legal production car in the world from 1994 to 2005, the longest for any street legal or production car in the history of automobiles. The title of "world's fastest production road car" is constantly in contention, especially because the term "production car" is not always well-defined by the media. Callaway's Sledgehammer Corvette, the road going version of the Dauer 962 Le Mans (winner of the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans as a GT) and most recently a version of the 911 Turbo produced by German tuner "9ff" have all proven in testing that they are capable of top speeds matching or in excess of 240 mph, although none of them are considered production cars, and hence cannot displace the McLaren's record, until...

POPSThe Truth Behind Bush's Tax Cut Plan: Korsakoff's Syndrome Bush proposes tax cuts to save us from a recession. Apparently he doesn't remember that he's been cutting taxes for the last 6 years, and that's what brought us to the brink of recession in the first place. If six years of consecutive aggressive tax cuts won't save our economy, then wouldn't it seem obvious that one more year of aggressive tax cuts isn't going to either? In fact, I can make the argument that the tax cuts are actually causing the recession, due to our staggering deficit. Doesn't he have any other ideas? Doesn't he remember saying the same things over and over again as things get worse and worse? Korsakoff's Syndrome is what the guy in Memento had, where he couldn't remember what happened 5 minutes ago. One of the causes of Korsakoff's Syndrome is a depletion of Thiamine (Vitamin B1) caused by substance abuse and alcoholism. Given Bush's history, this clip is only half joking.
