POPSTruth - 1; Birthers - 0 A Certificate of Live Birth is THE legal birth certificate in Hawaii. Quibbling over the name of the document is juvenile and obstructionist. Continued belief, in the face of clear, overwhelming evidence, that Obama was not born in Hawaii is a deviant mental state, requiring medical intervention. Obama has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a natural-born American and eligible to be the President of the US. To deny it is utter lunacy of the highest order. Continued: So-called "birthers" — who claim Obama is ineligible to be president because, they argue, he was actually born outside the United States — have grown more vocal recently on blogs and television news shows.

Some of you are saying that if Obama doesn’t produce whatever you consider to be an actual birth certificate, then the Constitution will catch fire and explode. If you want to get technical, though, there isn’t actually any mention of birth certificates in the Constitution. I've always thought Obama was born in Hawaii, just as I've thought Trig was born to Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin-haters are still trying to prove she didn’t give birth to her youngest son, Trig.These tinfoil hat-wearers are as obnoxious and unhinged as the 9/11 Truth cultists who insist that America engineered the jihadi attacks on itself. Seriously, I don't buy into Daily Kos conspiracy nonsense. Those basement dwellers spend their days threatening to move to Canada, but would sooner be caught dead than living in Canada. Frankly, I’m for letting the American people elect whomever they feel like electing. Obama sure as hell wasn't my choice. And many Americans are realizing the devastating mistake.

Every Sept, I would rush to the store to pick-up the Fall Preview Issue to research the brand new shows that would be premiering for the new season. Who'da thunk that 55 years later, the entire enterprise would be sold for a buck, with only a prayer that it will remain in print much longer? Anyone on CM who follows me knows I am quite passionate about this particular subject. Making the biblical case against homosexuality is, in my opinion, and many respected biblical scholars, hard to prove. Indeed, for all the huffing and puffin of born-again Christians, it is significant that in all His public denunciations Jesus Christ never ONCE mentioned homosexuality. In fact, He didn't say ONE word about it. In the end, for a person of faith, zeroing in on one or several passages of the Bible for clues on how to deal with homosexuality is the wrong approach. But let's discuss what Jesus did say. He had plenty to say about divorce, and in no uncertain terms. Except for marital unfaithfulness, he said it was a sin to divorce--and remarry. It seems pretty clear to me that anyone who would zero on passages of the Bible which condemn homosexuality and ignore those that condemn divorce are people who find it very convenient to point out those sins they are not guilty of.

POPSLine In Sand For Same Sex Couples In 2004 eleven states had measure on their ballots to ban same-sex marriage. Sadly, they all passed. But they didn't just spontaneously appear. All eleven were organized by religious and conservative political leaders as key to their efforts to turn out the born-again vote for George W. Bush. And it worked. Indeed, had gay marriage not been on the ballot in Ohio, Bush would probably not have been reelected. There is no doubt religious conservatives have turned same-sex marriage into a hot-button political issue. But they have been less persuasive in trying to turn it into a moral issue.
