The good news would be that fewer live pilots would be at risk. The bad news? 1. The use of drone attacks might go up since no direct US casualties at risk - only ground forces from friendly fire, ground forces from more violence against them in reaction to drone attacks. 2. Civilian and on-combatants casualties would go up - which might increase violence against the US. 3. There will be a drone factory of sub-contractor in the district of every congressmember who serves on a committee that give budget to drone programs. Thus welfare for defense contractors would likely increase and funds that might go for more productive things and peace might well get lost in the shuffle. Remember the Star Trek episode where a society conducted all of its war via computers? If the computer said you lost or had casualties, people then had to report for death or to be a wounded casualty. POPSWar Hero or War Criminal?
This article is written by Robert Richter, who was the CBS political director during the 1960's. He writes compellingly about a controversial issue that is rarely spoken about. Whether or not fighter bombers in the Viet Nam war should be charged as war criminals, due to their flagrant disregard of the Geneva Conventions that prohibit bombing of civilian areas. As it turns out, a documentary on the subject was done by a general back in the day, and CBS refused to show it, because they felt it was too hot. Now that Mr. McCain is running for president, he is holding up his position as a bombing pilot as heroic duty for which he should be honoured. But the facts have shown, that he and his colleagues, have killed many millions of Vietnamese civilians by their incessant bombing of civilian enclaves. If the tables were turned, and Vietnamese pilots were bombing civilian enclaves in the United States, when they were captured, as McCain was, they would have been tried as war criminals.

POPSMore Insanity From Columbia University When Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Columbia last fall and made a similar claim ("In Iran, we don't have homosexuals like in your country."), students laughed and booed. They recently, however, elected to award Massad the Lionel Trilling Book Award for making the nearly identical claim. Last year, Marty Peretz reported some good news: Columbia University had declined to give Massad tenure. Apparently, Peretz spoke too soon. After cries from the Middle Eastern Studies Department, the Provost agreed to appoint a second ad hoc committee this year. Will Columbia have the good-sense to banish him once and for all?

The government could care less about YOUR money and count on you to hand more over April 15th without resistance. Nothing like using overwhelming power to target a few "terrorists", from 30,000 feet. POPSToday in 1941 another atrocity ... ...befell the American people. I say atrocity because FDR knew it was coming... just like Bush on 9/11, and let it happen. And these are not the only instances. Our history is littered with these sort of inhuman actions. Don't just sit there wondering. Stop Bush now by participating in your government by contacting your representitives and above all, learn the facts and then VOTE.

POPSB-2 Stealths Bomb Hawaii The articles says in practice they do not use the GPS precision guided bombs, but rely on "gravity" and "wind" for trajectory. Why practice with a technique you would never use? I dont believe this, no way a Stealth flying at over 450 mph (min. to stay air born in this flying wing) drops a bomb without using GPS plus, or they miss. This is probably a story to answer the questions of Islanders of have seen the aircraft and questioned the practice. The B2 was designed for high altitude stealth bombing at range that human bomb release could not accurately hit. (Just ask any pilot from WW2).

Since that time, his company has designed and flown revolutionary aircraft ranging from the globalflyer, to X Prize winning SpaceShipOne. Rutan has now sold the company to Northrop Grumman Corp. This is the third time Rutan has sold Scaled Composites, having repurchased the company twice before. Northrop and Scaled Composites have worked together on a number of projects including the military B-2 Stealth Bomber and UAV projects. No change is expected in management.
