POPSChicago Mayor Daley Blames Fort Hood On America’s Love Of Guns! Taking Mayor Daley at face value for a moment, is he seriously arguing for increased gun control on a military base? If there had been more guns around, this ticking Jihad bomb could have been put down a lot faster than he was. With no pogrom backlash after 9/11, no pogrom backlash after Bali, no pogrom backlash after Madrid, no pogrom backlash after London, no pogrom backlash after Mumbai, no backlash after countless other Jihad attacks, why would there be any reason to believe the reaction would be any different in this case?

POPSLiberals Finally Got the Military Murders They've Been Asking For I imagine that President Obama's old mentors Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn are also pleased with the attack. After all, they sent Ayer's girlfriend and other domestic terrorists of the Weather Underground to attack an Army dance at Fort Dix, an assault thwarted only by their own bomb-building ineptitude. If they had been competent, their attack on Fort Dix would likely have been worse than yesterday's assault. So what say you, progressives... was the massacre of American soldiers all you dreamed it might be?

POPSU.S. Had Covert Ties to Paki-based Terrorist in Iran Bombing The terrorist behind the Iran bombing recently was a former covert operative per Robert Baer, former CIA agent of Syriana fame. This is not unlike the former ties with Al Qaeda and bin Laden as covert operatives and "CIA brainchilds". Of course, this was done for provocatory purposes to spark Iran-British-U.S. conflict....and it appears to be working for this design. See Telegraph UK article: Iran vows revenge after claiming bomb attack was carried out by Britain A bomb attack on Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard that killed over 40 people including top generals was carried out by terrorists trained by America and Britain in nearby Pakistan , a senior commander said on Monday. See, "state-sponsored terrorism" can be alleged both ways.

POPSOct. 23,1983 Lebanese Terrorists Bomb the Marine Barracks in Beirut
. . with Syria. Although the United States had mounted two previous successful peacekeeping operations in Lebanon in 1958 and earlier in 1982 (to facilitate the evacuation of P.L.O. forces from Beirut that had been defeated by Israel), the ignominious end of the MNF intervention brought disastrous consequences. The failure of the peacekeeping mission led to renewed fighting between Lebanese factions and the ascendancy of Hezbollah, backed by Iran and Syria. Moreover, the Marine barracks bombing, which was the deadliest terrorist attack against Americans before the 9/11 attacks, later inspired Osama bin Laden, who viewed the United States as a “paper tiger” because of its rapid withdrawal of peacekeeping forces from Lebanon and Somalia after suffering casualties. Al Qaeda members were later dispatched to Hezbollah training camps in Lebanon, according to the 9/11 Commission Report (p. 68). Posted October 23rd, 2009 in American Leadership.

POPSAuthorities Investigate Lake Elsinore Explosion My contact also says that the victim told the hospital it was a gun shot that blew up his hand, but doctors could obviously see that wasn't the case and alerted authorities. As my contact says. This could be as serious as domestic terrorism by a skinhead group, or as simple as a drug guy playing with explosives to protect his crop or lab. FBI Investigates California Man Injured by Explosive Device Investigators found explosives, a sophisticated marijuana growing facility and evidence that the home recently had been used as a state-licensed child care facility, Gutierrez said. "We do believe that when all this illegal activity was going on, that children were present," he said. However, no children were home at the time of the explosion, authorities said. Kuzelka's mother, Rebecca Kuzelka, 55, and brother Grey Kuzelka, 21, were arrested at the home for investigation of child endangerment, manufacture of explosives and cultivating marijuana

POPS The Greatest Threat in the Middle East Dr. ElBaradei has long considered a confrontational strategy toward Iran to be counterproductive. Responding to calls for the report’s release, he has raised doubts about its completeness and reliability.” ElBaradei’s non-confrontational approach likely explains today’s statement in Tehran that “Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East given the nuclear arms it possesses.” Because it’s much safer to verbally attack democratic nations like Israel than unpredictable authoritarian regimes like Iran. patterico's pontifications http://patterico.com/

POPS Three Accomplices in Terror Plot Identified Prosecutors have said the three others who shopped with him in Aurora, Colo., for the beauty products also accompanied him on an August 2008 flight to Pakistan for terrorism training. By that time, he had already come to authorities' attention. A criminal complaint has suggested that police acting without the FBI's knowledge might have compromised the investigation and helped blow the surveillance of Zazi by questioning a Muslim religious leader about him. The imam and Zazi's father face charges of lying to terrorism investigators; they deny the allegations. As authorities have continued to search for additional suspects, they've issued a flurry of terrorism warnings for sports complexes, hotels and transit systems based on their investigation. POPSPast "Terror Plots"--A Review of False Cases, Propaganda A timely reminder of previous "terror plots" that you heard announced, which turned out to be fanciful allegations. Watch the "plot to bomb Disneyland" and more examples. Then remember it was reported this week that "wedding" was an alleged code word for terror event there is also a reference to a “wedding,” which American agents believe is a code word for an attack. --just like in this film (7:45 minute mark)! Right, if you are paranoid or watch too much 24. This is the same FBI.

POPSHere We Go Again--Iran Is a Threat (but Not Nuclear Israel), blah, blah The propaganda machine about the "threat" of Iran has kicked into high gear, again, driven (as was the Iraq war) by not just the White House and both coerced parties in Congress (via AIPAC), but US Media, singing in complete unison. Who is really playing the aggressor? Who is threatening to attack whom , ....and based upon what ? The drum beat is identical to that about Iraq and Saddam Hussein, which we know was a lie, and part of the neocon agenda for a "new middle east". The morale of that story is do not trust the government when it comes to starting (or provoking) wars and conflicts, which always begins with sanctions , and gaining the UN Gang's support, rather easily swayed. They seek to overcome any resistance by incessant REPETITION of the same propaganda message as with Iraq.

POPS Najibullah Zazi Indicted in Terror Plot
NYPD raids in Queens last week turned up nine backpacks and cell phones, raising fears of a potential attack in the city's sprawling subway system. Authorities withheld the targets of the plot. But sources had told the Daily News that Zazi did computer searches involving baseball stadiums - and carried maps of other New York venues on his computer. Whatever the target, "Zazi took substantial steps toward carrying out the plan," according to a government memorandum demanding his immediate incarceration. The feds painted the bearded Zazi, 24, as a mad bomber whipping up batches of lethal explosives over a stove inside an Aurora, Colo., hotel suite. While inside the suite on Sept. 6-7, Zazi tried several times to reach an unidentified individual "seeking \ correct mixture of ingredients to make explosives," a government memorandum said. "Each communication \ more urgent in tone than the last." Traces of bomb-making material were discovered in a vent .

POPSFBI Has Arrested a Jordanian Man for Attempted Dallas Bombing "The highest priority of the FBI and the Department of Justice remains the prevention of another terrorist attack within the United States," said U.S. Attorney Jacks. "In that effort, it is the job of the FBI to locate and identify individuals intent upon carrying out any type of attack upon this country and its citizens/residents."

POPSHow To Kill New York SEPTEMBER 16, 2009: FBI agents with bomb-sniffing dogs Wednesday raided the Colorado apartment of an Afghan national linked to Al Qaeda and a plot to attack the New York City subway system.... In the past three days, the NYPD increased its attention to the subway system and its 5.2 million daily riders. Officers were warned to keep an eye out for vans near transportation hubs such as Grand Central, police sources said. The safety zone around subway and commuter stations also was expanded by two blocks, the sources said. Interesting little thought exercise - done in 2004

POPSJoseph Moshe (MOSSAD Microbiologist): “Swine flu vaccine is bioweapon” "He claimed that the vaccine contained an adjuvant (additive) designed to weaken the immune system, and replicated RNA from the virus responsible for the 1918 pandemic Spanish flu, causing global sickness and mass death. Sources tell us that Bar-Joseph Moshe made no threat against the President or the White House. He did not mention any bomb or attack. He then proceeded to inform the White House he intended to go public with this information. When he noticed men in suits in front of his house and feared that the FBI was about to detain him, he packed some belongings into his car and, him being a dual Israeli citizen, tried to reach the Israeli consulate located in close proximity to the federal building where the standoff took place.

POPSNajibullah Zazi Admitted Receiving 'Weapons and Explosives' Training From al-Qaeda
The FBI and NYPD grew alarmed that Zazi and his possible co-conspirators might be planning an imminent attack when they found backpacks and cell phones in an apartment. They also learned that Afzali and other Zazi associates tried to rent a 26-foot U-Haul truck the day before Zazi arrived in Queens. "The FBI is investigating several individuals in the United States, Pakistan and elsewhere, relating to a plot to detonate improvised explosive devices in the United States," the Justice Department revealed Sunday. Najibullah Zazi, whose high-profile 28 hours of voluntary questioning last week by prosecutors in Denver broke off suddenly on Saturday, told probers he was trained by Al Qaeda in August 2008 at a camp in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas, the government charged. A laptop found in Zazi's rental car, which the NYPD seized last weekend, contained images of handwritten bomb-making notes, the FBI said. Zazi e-mailed the notes to himself using an account . .

POPSColo. Man in Suspected NYC Subway Plot Admits Ties to Al Qaeda
The official went on to say that the plot was being directed from outside the United States. Zazi had submitted to two eight-hour interrogations, Wednesday and Thursday, at the FBI offices in Denver, and he was called back for further questioning Friday. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force went through Zazi's home, as well as the nearby residence of his aunt, Rabia Zazi. The searches are part of a terrorism investigation that fed fears of a possible subway bomb plot and led to several police raids Monday in New York City. Zazi, who authorities suspect of training at a Pakistani terror camp, reportedly had bomb-making diagrams on a computer that he carried with him on a visit to New York. Zazi's attorney had denied these allegations. His defense team said Friday that FBI agents also will question Zazi's father, though the FBI didnt't say why it wanted to talk to him. Najibullah Zazi hasn't been arrested, and his attorney, Arthur Folsom, says he doesn't expect him

POPSItaly PM: Exit Afghanistan Soon.
Statements by Berlusconi and other's in his administration appear contradictory. But on Italian TV he said: "We are all convinced it's best for everybody to get out soon." While it makes a lot of sense to want to capture and/or kill Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda leadership, George Bush twisted that into War in Iraq and this War in Afghanistan...and it seems the guys we're looking for aren't in either of those places. So Western Pakistan is also being ripped up. Of course the war in Iraq we know was built on deliberately fabricated lies....the beating of war drums to start a War in Iran is built on propaganda and lies (Iran has no WMD's)...and much of this appears to be excuses for old-fashioned imperialism. Old-fashioned imperialism sucks, imo. And recent months have revealed the dark hearts and vile hatred of USA Republican right_wing nut jobsm their motives are not good will or good faith but full of smear and insults. They should move to Afghanistan if they like i

POPSIsrael 'will attack Iran this year' Iran and the major world power are to start talks on the stand off over its nuclear programme, which stands in violation of United Nations resolutions, on Oct 1. Mr Obama's offer to talk to Iran without pre-conditions has made Israel nervous that Tehran will use detente as a cover to complete its drive for an atom bomb. "If Iran gained the bomb it would trigger a regional arms race with Saudi and Egypt quickly obtaining weapons," he said. "We would be living next to three Pakistans."

POPSRelease the Terrorist, Investigate the CIA by Andy McCarthy Excerpt from Wall Street Journals Editorial "The Real CIA News" The most revealing portion of the IG report documents the program's results. The CIA's "detention and interrogation of terrorists has provided intelligence that has enabled the identification and apprehension of other terrorists and warned of terrorist plots planned for the United States and around the world." That included the identification of Jose Padilla and Binyam Muhammed, who planned to detonate a dirty bomb, and the arrest of previously unknown members of an al Qaeda cell in Karachi, Pakistan, designated to pilot an aircraft attack in the U.S. The information also made the CIA aware of plots to attack the U.S. consulate in Karachi, hijack aircraft to fly into Heathrow, loosen track spikes to derail a U.S. train, blow up U.S. gas stations, fly an airplane into a California building, and cut the lines of suspension bridges in New York.

POPSMegrahi Expected to Reveal the True Identity of the Lockerbie Bomber The source said: “Not only was Abu Elias known to the Americans, but what if he was working for them? The guy comes into the US from the former Soviet Union, he’s the nephew of Ahmed Jibril – the Bin Laden of his day – and he just strolls into the US? “I think they turned him, and I think he operated as a double agent." Khreeshat said if they had waited one more day, they would have got Elias in the Autumn Leaves raid. Goben says Elias put the bomb into Jafar’s case without his knowledge. “Abu Elias was a prime suspect. An American double agent was responsible for bringing down an American plane. POPSUPDATE: Bombs And Mortars Kill At Least 50 In Iraqi Capital Series of Blasts in Central Baghdad Kill at Least 50, Injure 300, Police Say http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,540468,00.html BAGHDAD — Iraqi police and medical officials say at least six bomb and mortar attacks have struck high-profile targets in central Baghdad, including one near the parliament building, killing at least 50 people and wounding 300 others. It was not yet immediately clear where the other deaths among the 50 people killed occurred. Officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information. AP Television News footage from inside parliament showed debris and broken glass from the blast in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone. It wasn't immediately clear what caused that explosion. The Green Zone has often been a target of insurgent mortar and rocket attacks. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

POPSAfghanistan...no end in sight The explosion was the first major attack in Kabul since February, when eight Taliban suicide bombers struck three government buildings, killing 20 people. POPS"Author William Golding attacked girl of 15" more (at source): Golding comes across as a man of deep introspection who drank heavily to sustain himself. The biography also throws new light on how Lord of the Flies, his first and most famous novel, was published after many publishers rejected it. It reveals how its editor altered it to exclude much material on the nuclear bomb and changed the character of Simon, one of the British schoolboys marooned on an island after a plane crash, from being too explicitly Christlike. However, it is Golding’s attitude to women in his unpublished Men, Women & Now, which will cause most surprise in literary circles. He had met Dora when both were taking music lessons in Marlborough, Wiltshire, when he was about 16 and she was 13, but he tried to rape her two years later when he was home during his first year at Oxford.

POPSTaliban Claim Afghan Capital Car Bomb as Election Looms The blast shattered windows in the area and shook buildings in the Wazir Akbar Khan district, home to most major foreign embassies and organisations in the capital. It also rattled confidence in an Aug. 20 presidential election which pits incumbent Hamid Karzai against 35 challengers. Two recent polls have Mr Karzai with a comfortable lead over his nearest challenger Abdullah Abdullah, but not enough to avoid a second round run-off. Mr Karzai condemned the attack but said it would not stop Afghans from voting. “The enemies of Afghanistan try to create fear among people in this election period but people still realise the importance of going to ballot boxes to cast their votes,” Mr Karzai was quoted as saying in a statement from the presidential palace. The Taliban, stronger than at any time since they were driven from power eight years ago, have vowed to strike polling stations and threatened reprisals against voters.
