POPSObamaCare endorsements: What the bribe was The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues. Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP — which supposedly represents them — will make more money

POPSOur Missile-Defense Race Against Iran "Our security depends in large measure on beating Iran to the punch. If the U.S. succeeds in deploying missile defenses capable of intercepting Iranian long-range missiles before they are developed, it will help protect itself, its allies and its troops from the menace posed by a nuclear Iran. But if missile defenses become operational after Iran's long-range missile capability does, both America and its allies will find themselves vulnerable to nuclear blackmail, or worse, from the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism." I know no one wants to read this stuff and have this debate. It comes down to trust. Do you trust Russia? Iran? it's satellite minions? This President? The power of the UN? The EU? I abhor looking to other countries...hoping...that they will protect our overseas military or even our homeland.

POPSFBI Whistleblower:Members of Congress 'Bribed, Blackmailed' The under-oath, detailed allegations include bribery, blackmail, espionage and infiltration of the U.S. government of, and by current and former members of the U.S. Congress, high-ranking State and Defense Department officials and agents of the government of Turkey. The broad criminal conspiracy is said to have resulted in, among other things, the sale of nuclear weapons technology to black market interests including Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, Libya and others.

POPSNew breed of spycams pose threat to privacy " You probably don't know this, but Adobe's Flash Player browser plug-in, which many people install to view Flash video clips and adverts on the web, has a Settings Manager that has two settings that control whether websites you access, and potentially other Internet users, can turn on your webcam and microphone remotely - with or without asking your permission. In addition, the Internet VoIP and chat application Skype also has some settings that can control whether and how a webcam in or connected to your computer is enabled when using it."

POPSWe Stand At a Pivotal Crossroads in Our Nation's History It is a crossroads that we as a people have been a long time coming to, with the pivotal events occurring mostly in the last hundred years, and now escalating much more rapidly in the last few months. Many have fought them, but far too many have ignored the worsening condition, others have been bought and paid for through blackmail, bribes, or appeals to entitlement and vice, still others have been swayed, in the name of congeniality or "reason", to compromise, to have pleasant dialog, and to meet half way with those pushing for the end of our Constitutional Republic, our Free Market, and our way of life and liberty. The problem is, if you are always meeting the opposition half way towards their position, if they keep stepping further and further back along a particular path...then you are drawn right along along that same path to the destination of their choosing. And that destination is not a constitutional republic,

POPSCongress Objects to CIA Lies But Not Torture and Murder? So what do you call a country if not a "tyranny" when its top officials dispatch their henchmen around the world to murder their enemies? That’s how the Soviet Union’s Joe Stalin worked. "No man, no problem." Stalin was no believer in respecting the sovereignty of other countries or bothering with their courts. Just go in and kill the guy. Apparently, Cheney worked the same way. And like Stalin, he authorized torture. This totalitarian streak runs deep both in the White House and CIA. The U.S. had been involved in the assassination or attempted assassination of 37 world leaders and more than 50 U.S. foreign interventions, mostly by the CIA, ranging from blackmail to armed overthrow. Blum also cites evidence of CIA meddling in 30 foreign elections. The crimes of our presidents and the CIA today represent everything America’s Founders despised.

POPSIs Michael Jackson going to Heaven? Hell has its gates open for the parents who exploited their kids and told them to make up stories about Michael diddling them to blackmail money out of Michael, and gung-ho District Attorneys trying to make a name for himself off a misunderstood man's suffering.

POPSYou Can't Hear The Jackboots, But This Is Still Oppression prying officials be empowered to force their way into the homes of parents who prefer to educate their sons and daughters at home. This is our all-powerful State's angry response to a growing rebellion, by mothers and fathers who are sick of seeing their children bullied, neglected and mis-educated in the state education system, and rightly think they can do a better job. How can the commissars in charge of the Western world's worst schools be fit to judge how well a parent is teaching her own child? The pretext for this invasion of privacy is a baseless suggestion that home education could be used as a cover for child abuse. But these are not subject to Comrade Balls's new inquisition. Why not? Because they don't challenge his desire to march all children into egalitarian comprehensive sausage machines, notorious as they are for violence, ignorance and drugs. peter hitchens ~ daily mail.co.uk

POPS“Nobody Wants To Take On The White House . . . . " While our sacred Constitution grants him no such authority, Obama has had no trouble firing the head of General Motors, rewarding union “activists” with control of Chrysler, unilaterally forcing health care executives to forego $2 trillion (with a “T) in future revenue, implicitly telling Citigroup and Bank of America that they must fire their CEO’s, and blackmail, extort, or threaten the state of California that unless it restores wage cuts to a union, he will rescind billions in already granted stimulus money. Four months into his presidency and Obama has removed all doubt that he is the most “activist” president of our lifetimes. He is an activist president who demonstrates his leftist leanings with almost every action and non-action. One such non-action being his decision not to reject or correct America-bashing strongmen Hugo Chavez or Daniel Ortega at last month’s Summit of the Americas. Why?

POPSHow MI5 Recruits Muslims: Blackmails as Terror Suspects to Employ This is an interesting article in light of the New York "alleged terror plot" story, and shows how government agents coerce to recruit, as agents, double agents, or even patsies, by use of threats, as well as financial rewards, for their particular purposes. This in fact is how "terrorists" recruit, by threatening the peace and lives of others they want to use and employ for their missions! Using these men as patsies, after arming them, in "role play" scenarios, is how it becomes a "terror plot" headline later for media consumption. "When people are terrorised by the very same body that is meant to protect them, sowing fear, suspicion and division, we are on a slippery slope to an Orwellian society."

POPSGas prices: The key to fuel economy There will be a market for these smaller cars, but how many families can fit theirs into one? They are going to be super dangerous on our highways; ie. collisions and in the long run cost people more. This is nothing but pure blackmail. All the while, those in power will continue to sport about in whatever, usually at taxpayers expense, and the really, really good plan for energy independence is going down the drain. Control us by increasing the price of gasoline so that we can't afford the vehicles we want, are appropriate for our households, offer a reasonable amount of physical security, etc... There is not enough space to say everything about why I hate this. We have become serfs to this Administration.

POPSUS threatens to rescind stimulus $$ over wage cuts SEIU = Service Employees International Union Isn't this federal blackmail? California is trying to work on their budget but Washington says we'll take our money back if you cut where we don't want you to cut. Is this legal?

POPSGirls On Our Streets "Solutions are complicated and involve broader efforts to overcome urban poverty, including improving schools and attempting to shore up the family structure. But a first step is to stop treating these teenagers as criminals and focusing instead on arresting the pimps and the customers — and the corrupt cops. “The problem isn’t the girls in the streets; it’s the men in the pews,” notes Stephanie Davis, who has worked with Mayor Shirley Franklin to help coordinate a campaign to get teenage prostitutes off the streets."
