IT’S TIME TO DRILL By TWENTY POUND SLEDGE Music lyrics and performed by Alfonzo Rachel We can fix it if we drill here right now. They say it’s going to take 10 years well, They said that 10 years ago so, Had we done it then we’d have the oil now, litigation is the time they’ll drag out. Everyday I here this was a war for oil, though we have our own underneath American soil. If that were really true, then why didn’t you prevent the war by stepping aside so we could get our own crude? The only bloody hands would belong to the left. Aptly named sinister, and taxin’ us to death, The ministers of victimization, who keep us in a state of a dependency nation. REPEAT CHORUS A MACHO SAUCE PRODUCTION

Name That Party

Cont... The commercial comes against a backdrop of lingering resentment by some black ministers in Memphis at Mr. Cohen’s election in 2006. Several have been outspoken in the view that a district that is 60 percent black should not be represented by a white man; Mr. Cohen, who is Jewish, was the object of boos and jeers at a meeting of the Memphis Baptist Ministerial Association last summer. Anti-Semitic fliers — “Why do Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus?” one asked — written by an African-American minister from outside the district have also been circulating in Memphis.

Obama’s Speech: Consider These Goalposts Moved!
merrie
by merrie  8-6-2008    1
For the men and women of Reverend Wright’s generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years. But the anger is real; it is powerful; and to simply wish it away, to condemn it without understanding its roots, only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races. Really? How about understanding its roots but not condemning it? That’s what Obama did for 20 years, implicitly lending himself to the cause of racial division — he finally admits early in the speech that he heard “remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church,” although these appear to be of a lesser grade somehow than the stuff that’s been airing on Fox — and only now with the presidency at stake has he awakened to the perniciousness of silence. Gut Check Time for White Americans
dulios
by dulios  5-1-2008    23
The Wright affair has such resonance in this campaign because Wright has shown himself to be the kind of black person that white people don't like. He brings out our prejudices. Yes, I said "our" prejudices. Part of it is Wright's ignorance and part of it is his arrogance and part of it is that he talks louder than white people would prefer and part of it is that he uses the sing-song cadence they associate with other black ministers they have grown to hate over the years such as Jesse Jackson. Obama is none of those things (OK, maybe a little arrogant at times), so Wright has been brought to the forefront as a substitute punching bag.

White Radical Evangelicals Get a Pass
dulios
by dulios  2-28-2008    4
"Thus, white evangelical Ministers are free to advocate American wars based on Biblical mandates, rant hatefully against Islam, and argue that natural disasters occur because God hates gay people...By contrast, black Muslim ministers like Farrakhan, or even black Christian ministers like Rev. Jeremiah Wright, are held with deep suspicion, even contempt. McCain is free to hug and praise the Rev. Hagees of the world, but Obama is required to prove over and over and over and over that he does not share the more extreme views of black Ministers."

British MP gets Racist/Sectarian DHS treatment TWICE!!!
righthand
by righthand  10-29-2007    1
Wrong colour, wrong religion or just incompetent from Department of Homeland Security ? This was his SECOND time getting the treatment. "Mr Malik said he was particularly annoyed as a similar thing happened to him last year, when he was detained for an hour at JFK airport in New York by the DHS - despite the fact that he was a keynote speaker at an event organised by the department, alongside the FBI and Muslim organisations in New York. "The theme of that speech was tackling extremism and defeating terrorism. Mr Malik said he received numerous apologies and assurances from the USA authorities after that incident."

Why Should Being Gay Be a Crime?
TerranceDC
by TerranceDC  11-16-2006    2
If Michael Savage is upset with the Catholic church, he ought to be downright livid if the United Nations adopts a resolution calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality. And when he finds out the resolution was offered by a black gay Frenchman? Well he'll probably call for the bombing of the U.N. and for the U.S. to finally invade and occupy France. What will be interesting to see is where the Bush administration stands. After all, they flip-flopped on allowing gay human rights activists to have U.N. access. Post-election, where will the Bush administration come down on this? Where would their base want them to come down? Three guesses, and the first two don't count.
