The website is designed to give voice to the millions of Americans who believe it is time for talk-show hosts and elected officials to stop stoking the racial anxieties of the fringes of America. Beck and his fellow band of hooligans have been telling scary stories about President Obama whom Limbaugh has disrespectfully referred to as "the little black man child." Beck recently accused the biracial President of having "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture." And he has attacked a number of key Administration officials accusing them of being socialist and anti-American. Limbaugh, who has a history of making racially charged remarks about Obama, has called the mixed-race president "a halfrican American." Days before the President's inauguration in January, Limbaugh said, "I hope he fails" - the verbal equivalent of putting a razor blade in a candy apple. POPSNew York Post's Vile Cartoon Only Serves To Reinforce Our Racist Legacy Of Stereotypes It's fine to have a cartoon that illustrates this bill's financial quackery, but to equate its author -- or the person responsible for it (i.e. the president) to a chimp that became wild and threatened the public's safety and had to be shot and killed is a direct insult to our biracial president in view of our nation's embarrassing history of racist stereotypes. Many racists have equated blacks with chimps, apes, etc., with the implication that they are "stupid." The cartoonist and New York Post should not have published the cartoon because of the horrific American racist legacy, often supported by academia and politicians, that African-Americans are stupid. Yet that is not the worst part of the cartoon. The fact that the chimp, symbolic for the president, was shot and killed is outrageous.

And her father, Enrique Arreola-Lopez of Centennial, never returned to the Clifton City Market parking lot, Grand Junction, where he was supposed to return Mystic to the family she’s lived with since she was a toddler. The girl has lived full-time with Amie Salazar and Jennifer Davis since December 2006. Mystic is believed to be in the company of Enrique Arreola-Lopez, who is Mystic’s biological father. With them, are his wife Melissa, her three sons and another boy. Arreola-Lopez met his daughter for the first time in April 2008 and has had periodic single-day court-ordered visits with Mystic since then. POPSChildren Live What They Learn There was a huge fight in the school that resulted in several kids being suspended. The writers conclusion is that this election is showing both progress and failure of the US over race relations. I couldn't agree more. Children are the barometers of a society.

POPS Colbert $1,000 Book Signing At Chinese Restaurant Cadres of election law attorneys are examining the numerous violations of campaign finance law that the Colbert campaign has already made and continues to make, as if comedian/politicians are somehow exempt Colbert held a book-signing for Chinese restaurant waiters and dishwashers who thronged to be allowed to pay $1,000 for an autographed copy of his book. Did Tim Russert grill Colbert on that or was he bought off with an order of Norman Hsu pork? Colbert even has corporate sponsors for his campaign: Comedy Central, which provides free television time, and Doritos, which is said to be developing his for-the-children nutrition plan. POPSDo white Americans avoid adopting black or Latino babies? Steve Gillard wrote this provocative entry in response to today's Washington Post article about how the American demand for Chinese babies to adopt has fueled baby theft in China (read the WP article--it's really sad). Gillard argues that this problem would never have arisen if white Americans weren't prejudiced and avoided adopting black and Latino babies. I suspect there's some truth to this.
