POPSFt. Hood Shooting, 'This is a Domestic Terrorist Attack' Gen. Barry McCafferty (CNN) -- An owner of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Fort Hood, Texas, said Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan came in for coffee and hashbrowns most mornings, including the morning he allegedly shot dozens of soldiers. Surveillance video from the store obtained by CNN shows a man who, according to the store owner, is Hasan at the cashier's counter at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday (7:20 a.m. ET) -- about seven hours before the mass shooting -- carrying a beverage and dressed in traditional Arab garb. POPS The Obama Work-Out War-weary Obama manages a decision … more golf! Boston Herald: WASHINGTON - President Obama has outperformed former President George Bush in a key area - he’s hit the links as many times in nine months as Bush did in nearly three years, political Web sites reported. Politico, a political news and gossip site, and the Chicago Tribune’s The Swamp, reported that CBS’ Mark Knoller - who documents presidential statistics - Tweeted Sunday, “Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24. Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months.” The Swamp noted that after the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Bush quit golf, saying, “I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander-in-chief playing golf . . . I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal . . . ” Come on, guys. Iraq was different. That was Bush’s war. Afghanistan? That’s Bush’s other war! http://www.julescrittenden.com/2009/10/27/golf-for-we-not-for-thee/

POPSRepublicans Need to Dump the Neoconservatives The republicans need a "tea party" within their own camp! The Bush and present GOP "conservatives" are pushing big government Statism as much as Democrats, with only a different slant. Wars for democracy are a key element of both parties now. There is an insidious philosophy underlying this acceptance of the "natural" growth of statism. Neoconservative columnist David Brooks wrote ... we need "a vigorous One Nation Conservatism ... by making the nation great, individuals are able to join their narrow concerns to a larger national project." Actually, it was originally the Democrats that used to believe in curtailing the powers of the Federal government. (This was after the Civil War where they were called Dixie-crats). POPSChito & Pocho A Friendship That Defies Natural Instinct
This is a more amazing story because in the not too distant past I had this vivid dream one night. I tend not to be a sleeping dreamer. In the dream, I was sitting on some rocks (so I thought) and they were in a circular shape. In the middle was water and there was a pod of dolphins (luminously shining) swimming. On the other side of the rocks were humans clambering all over the rocks (which turned out to be the crocodiles tail). At some point I became aware that the rocks I was sitting on weren't rocks at all. I was sitting on the head of a giant crocodile and I had my feet on its eyes holding them closed. I suspected it was to keep the "humans" safe. At some point I decided to take my feet of the crocodiles eyes but cannot remember any more of the dream... I wrote about the dream to a dear friend and said, "How amazing it would be if humans somehow learned to overcome their fear and befriend the crocodile." And then I found this - AWESOME!!!

POPSTime To Man Up, Barry
The sentence for Kian Tajbakhsh was the longest prison term yet in a mass trial of more than 100 opposition figures, activists and journalists in the post election turmoil. The longest sentence so far, yet news accounts offer no explanation as to what Mr. Tajbakhsh did to deserve arrest, let alone a 12 year sentence. Apparently he was arrested at his home, not at a demonstration. News of his sentence was coupled with reports of lenient treatment given to a Canadian citizen: At the same time, Iran allowed another defendant to leave the country--Canadian-Iranian Maziar Bahari, a Newsweek journalist arrested in the same crackdown who had been freed on bail over the weekend. Bahari joined his British wife, who is in the last days of her pregnancy, in London, Newsweek said on its Web site Tuesday. It could be a coincidence. But news accounts certainly raise a question whether the mullahs are publicly sticking their finger in the Obama administration's eye, letting a Canadian go . .

POPSWH: “FOX News Wing of the Republican Party” Of course they were......Do these people even live in reality? What about when CNN Protected Dear Leader Obama by fact checking Saturday Night Live? Then there was CNN’s Susan Roesgen display of hypocritical superciliousness. And lest we forget there was Janeane Garofalo’s appearance on Keith Olberman. The actress went on to bash the GOP on MSNBC Thursday because it had “crystallized into the white power movement” as well as Fox News, which she said has captured the “Klan demo .” Yep all networks other than FOX are completely unbiased. As long as the Obama admin keeps pretending that is the case, all will be well in the Obama fantasy land of unicorns and rainbows. I am not saying FOX does not tend to lean right but what I am saying is that all the rest mostly lean left. H/T Freedom Eden Transcript excerpts courtesy of: NewsBusters

POPSAndrew Sullivan: "Much Worse Than I Expected" So Andy has finally decided that Barry is a liar. Well, duh. What exactly in part of his campaign made him think he was a stand-up kinda guy? His tie to terrorists? His racist and hateful minister? Too bad for Andy he doesn't have Sarah Palin to trash for kicks to take his mind off of Obama's lying butt. Gross, I can't believe I actually agree with Andy the Clown.

POPSBarack Obama: "Yes, I hunted and killed Bigfoot!"
To sum things up for the media, his press secretary said, "Look, Barack Obama is for everything this week!" When quiried abot the actual killing of the elusive Bigfoot and where the actual body was, Mr. Obama claims he really didn't 'kill' the Yeti, but wounded him in the arm. He tearfuly expressed his sorrow for wounding the beast as a camera crew from PETA caught the tearful confession. When the animal extremist crew left, Obama turned his attention to the reporters who were setting up to record his hunting statements. Reporters pressed him for more details about his hunting exploits. Questions ranged from..."Where did you hunt in Chicago?" to... "What caliber bullets he used in his shotgun?" Mr. Obama stumbled on the last question and had to ask an aide "what a shotgun was". The aide hastily pulled out a Bass-Pro hunting catalog flyer and showed him a picture of a kid's Daisy BB gun, which the smiling Barack 'Barry' Obama confidently pointed to as the type of weapon he s

POPSSept. 19th - Tis time to talk pirate, me hearties More: But it wasn't until humorist Dave Barry caught wind of the idea and threw his support behind it in a September 2002 Miami Herald column that this rickety ship took sail. # Ahoy -- Hello. # Avast -- Stand and give attention; listen up. # Aye -- I heartily agree with everything you said or did. # Aye Aye -- Yeah, boss, I'll get on that as soon as I finish this coffee or rum. #Aarrr -- Not to be confused with Arrgh (a sign of pain), it's a way of announcing yourself to the world, telling everyone you're here and alive. It could mean don't look at my girlfriend that way, or I'm enjoying this hamburger.
