POPSBaptist Church to Burn Bibles This one certainly belongs in the LOONY BIN because of the bazaar reasoning of this apparently misguided congregation. I wish I could say that this is an isolated case but I know far too many "KING JAMES ONLY" adherents who would probably applaud this behavior. In my post To King James or Not to King James I wrote at great length on this issue. There has been an ongoing controversy surrounding this issue, but the way this old bird sees things, the crazy antics of this Baptist church makes me wonder if reading the KING JAMES bible causes otherwise rational people to loose all reason. This pastor and his 14 followers have certainly flown over the cuckoos nest. And that is how I see it! Eagle Out!

While some black ministers make a mighty effort to address deep seated social ills and use their influence to be spiritual mentors and social advocates, they are in the minority. black ministers that slump into complacency and inaction, and hopelessly enmeshed in greed and personal aggrandizement have rejected Dr. King's call to take the front line in the battle for social justice. They forget or ignore the entreaty in Luke to "put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalt those of low degree." They have spiritually and socially disarmed many African-Americans.[/quote

Marchers walked three-quarters of a mile from the church to a place known as Freedom Corner, which has served as a protest meeting spot dating to the 1950s when local black residents fought the demolition of homes, stores and churches in preparation for an arena.

Church officials say they don’t want students "to be banned or barred from hearing and viewing this historic message to students because of the judgments and fear of some school districts.” Good for him. It seems pretty obvious who is doing the brainwashing in that school district. They are basically passing on the message that what this president says is poison, but the guy who lied to us to get us into an illegal war, besmirched America’s name by authorizing war crimes, and spent all our money, is someone worth listening to.
