POPSThe Sky, From Above Viewing these photos at the website is recommended. The Space Shuttle Discovery successfully launched last week, becoming the 154th manned US space mission. It flew to the International Space Station, delivering (among other things) a Japanese module called Kibo, repair parts for a broken toilet, a Buzz Lightyear action figure, one of Lance Armstrong's yellow jerseys, and 18 sesame seed bagels - the first bagels ever to reach Earth orbit. Completion of this mission will leave only eight flights remaining in the Space Shuttle program until its end in 2010. One of the best features of the space program has always been astronaut photography, and I will take this opportunity to share some of the best photographs of Earth's skies, taken from above - way above (over 200 miles to be more exact). (15 photos total)

POPSHeadline of the story a tad misleading it seems.... Price rises send New Yorkers delving into dustbins for free food!!!!!! (not) The best part of this story were the two comments at the end: 1. Emma from UK: This has been going on in London and amongst students for years. I lived in a house almost entirely furnished from the bins behind charity shops while a student last year, and became very skilled at finding free food. This state of affairs has nothing to do with the credit crunch... 2.From dapi, qingdao, china: I cannot believe it. (me neither)

POPSSt. Patrick's Day Teddy Kennedy Style! St. Patrick's Day Parade Enjoy green bagels, green water fountains, a green Empire State Building and, of course, green beer, all in honor of the patron saint of Ireland at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue in New York City Monday . The first St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC took place 247 years ago, 14 years before the Declaration of Independence. This parade does not allow floats or cars, just marchers. The parade starts at 44th Street at 11 a.m. and marches up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street. It proceeds past the American Irish Historical Society and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street to 86th Street, where the parade finishes around 5 p.m. Visit www.saintpatricksdayparade.com/NYC for more information. Enjoy St. Patrick's Day! Now drink like Ted Kennedy

POPSVA Dunkin Donuts goes non-kosher, angers Orthodox There are only a few kosher Dunkin Donuts stores in the country, and several in the D.C. area have recently decided to give up their kosher status, causing something of a furore among the Orthodox Jewish community. Kind of a strange story.
