POPSObama, Ayers, Woods Fund, AAAN There's too much here - combined together is William Ayers, a domestic terrorist who didn't believe he didn't go far enough, and Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi a founder of AAAN, who also held a fundraiser for Obama. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group. Where does Obama's association with terrorism end?

POPSThe Network Behind The Bush-Bashing Book
“after Bernardine’s return from Cuba,” where she had “a warm meeting with members of the Viet Cong.” That was before she and Ayers finished their bombing campaign, which included a blast that killed a San Francisco policeman, and helped launch Barack Obama’s political career. Osnos is the key to understanding the network that is working behind-the-scenes. A former national news editor of the Post, Osnos was an assistant to I.F. Stone in the 1960s. Stone was exposed as a Soviet agent in the transcripts of Soviet messages known as the Venona intercepts and by other sources. Former Soviet KGB Major General Oleg Kalugin had identified Stone as a Soviet agent, but under pressure from the media later backed away from that precise description. However, in his book, The First Directorate: My 32 Years in Intelligence and Espionage Against the West, Kalugin still identified Stone as a “fellow traveler” of the Soviet Union who “made no secret of his admiration for the Soviet system”

POPSA truth article about this election - BITTER POLITICS A truth article about politics... But it wasn't just the media. In a recent Sunday talk-show appearance, McCain was eager to delve--unprompted--into yet another discussion about Bill Ayers, while Clinton invoked her affinity for her small-town brethren by recounting her girlhood shooting lessons. In other words, multimillionaire McCain, the millionaire pundit class and the millionaire Clintons all spent the last weeks waging a culture war against a man who spent most of his career organizing in or representing the South Side of Chicago. It was enough to make one cling to religion. What was so dispiriting about this spectacle wasn't its nastiness. Politics in a democracy will always be rancorous; it's the nonviolent means we've established to referee conflicting interests. No, it was the sheer staleness: the run-up to Pennsylvania was dominated by the umpteenth iteration of a clash of fabricated caricatures. More below:

POPSHate Limbaugh or Limbaugh's hate! Dangerous or Laughable? (I chose both but the former rather than the latter is more direct... One Dangerous Dude!) ~~~~~~~ It was no surprise that Limbaugh would call for riots at the Democratic National Convention in Denver to embarrass the Democrats. Limbaugh -- and his fellow purveyors of hate on the airwaves -- are dangerous demagogues whom pro-democracy Americans too easily dismiss as poltroonish shills for the entrenched powers. It's a regular staple of the millionaire right-wing echo chamber to use the explicit or implicit language of violence. In fact, the entire "frame" of everyone from Sean Hannity to Bill O'Reilly to Rush Limbaugh is to convince their listeners that people who don't agree with these "pundits of patriotism" are the enemy and dangerous to America. POPSJohn McCain global warming tour? I just love how McCain embraces the left with such enthusiasm, no matter how absurd their ideas are. I just wish he'd "reach across the aisle" to the Conservatives every once in a while!

POPSCould it Hapen? Repulsed Into Voting Republican It is no wonder then that McCain is making a place at the table for possible defectors, however unlikely. He began his “forgotten places” tour in Alabama’s Black Belt by literally dancing into the arms of an elderly black woman as she sang the gospel hymn “Do, Lord, Remember Me.” Remember that moment if you ever see a bumper sticker that reads, “Repulsed into voting Republican.”

POPSRezko, Wright, And Ayers If you are looking for the audio and transcripts of Pastor Wright's two sermons, they are here. In an effort to provide "context" I will try and obtain and play the entire audio of his NAACP speech from yesterday on today's program. (Michelle Malkin has a round-up on this astonishing speech.) If time permits, I'll replay the sermons as well, even though I played all the audio out there from both on Friday's program. They are the "primary documents" of the controversy, and deserve a wide audience. I suspect the pastor will make more news at the National Press Club, and I'll play that audio as well.

POPSMcCain The Dems got it good this year...they have two candidates to fight over. I seem to have one and I, for one, think I got stiffed.

POPSIn defense of William Ayers But to call Ayers a "terrorist" and throw him in the Osama bin Laden pile is a reach for the moral high ground by the very people and political establishment that secretly carpet bombed Cambodia, murdering hundreds of thousands of civilians. ...Ayers is no martyr, and he's no role model. But he doesn't deserve to be the punching bag of the moral cretins who still celebrate lying wars of aggression and the pointless slaughter of untold thousands.

POPSWhy Obama should drop out Gotta go get some more popcorn. Oh ya, I just couldn't help clipping that book cover. The sub-title 'Chronicles of a Collapsing Party' was just too ironic to pass up.

POPSHow Obama Fell To Earth
Obama's Capital Gains response last night still has to be one of the stupidest--and most revealing--answers ever given in a televised debate. Yes, he understands that Capital Gains reductions raises more revenue for the Government---but that's not the point; it is just so...."unfair" to have businesses making profits, even if it means the Government gets more money: more investments and profits means businesses can hire more workers and distribute dividends to our 401K's. It is so utterly obvious that Obama does not care about how much revenue Government does or doesn't raise: the point is to punish business and the middle class, no matter what it does to revenue; revenue is just the convenient excuse. The beauty of last night's debate is that the rest of the country knows this, and also knows that Obama has spent his entire adult life hanging out with known Communists, anarchists, terrorists, racists, and crooks. Yet the media is not supposed to ask about these associations?

POPSI wonder if McCain's name came up. By the time Gibson got around to the issues, Obama looked lost and upset. It got worse when Gibson asked about capital-gains tax rates, which Obama has pledged to raise. When Gibson repeatedly pointed out that decreasing the rates actually increased the revenues, Obama simply couldn’t come up with an answer, stammering while trying to change the subject. On guns, both Hillary and Obama stumbled through tortured explanations of how they support a Constitutional right for individuals to own guns while backing gun bans like the one in DC. The winner of this debate? John McCain. Both Democrats came out of this diminished, but Obama got destroyed in this exchange.
