POPSRuffling Floridian's Feathers Predictably, seeing something like this angers many in the conservative state of Florida. If you're not Christian (and fundamentalist) you're definitly in the minority in Florida, particularly in the central portion where this is located. Notice the reporters telling phraseology. "...a billboard asking a provocative question...". Actually the question is not provocative at all. It is addressed directly to people who have doubtsd concerning their faith and could in fact feel comforted by knowing that there are others who share their viewpoint.

POPSNut Case Extrodinaire I haven't had the displeasure of coming across Allen Ball before and for that I'm grateful. Seldom have I met someone who is so bigoted and hateful as this individual. His solution to all the woes of this country. Christianity. Of course it's his own, right wing version. What a sanctimonious ass-hat.

POPSAnother Shill Makes a Fool of Himself Typical of the drivel from Faux News, here's a snippet showing that even the most rudimentary investigation shows them to be full of bull. But then that doesn't seem to affect the mewling zoombies that follow these jerks.

POPS"Inaugural prayers under attack in DC" I'm sure they were actually "sick." Demons always reject the name of Jesus. They will do anything they can to fight against that name, including making the people they possess or oppress physically ill.

POPSFact: Nearly All of Hitlers Beliefs Placed Him On the Far Right[
Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist." But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production. In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.

POPSHow Can This Be??? How in the world can a person be a decent, moral person without the promise of heaven or the threat of hell. Just what is this world coming to??? Now I'll carefully remove my tongue from my cheek.

POPSOur Natural Place in the World This is just the beginning of a 3 part essay that, for me, embodied the form of spirituality I regularly experience in my life. It's always a revelation when you see something coming from another mind that has so many points of commonality with your own thinking. Part 3 held the most significance for me.

POPSTempe pastor prays for president's death "Chris Broughton, the 28-year-old Tempe resident who gained national notoriety after carrying a rifle to protest President Obama's appearance last week in downtown Phoenix, has said Anderson is his pastor." If that's what God wants I am nothing but delighted to be an atheist!

POPSWe've Gotten Away With It For Years So It's OK I wonder how the superintendent would respond to a government organization that included on their letterhead the phrase "Uniontown - Only Christians Allowed", or "Uniontown - Jew Free"! It's mighty difficult for the privileged to see their own bigotry. Their defense? We've gotten away with it for years so it must be ok. What a bunch of wankers.

POPSPolls show atheists on the rise in America The American Religious Identification Survey recently found the number of people who claimed “no religion” had nearly doubled nationally over the last 18 years, to 15 percent. They were the only demographic that increased in all 50 states. Some attribute the surge to outrage over former president George W. Bush and his courting of the religious right. Others mention a slew of best-selling books about atheism that have recently fueled debate. But there’s no doubt the Internet is playing a role too. It offers atheist dating services, and helps nonbelievers meet up — people who might otherwise remain “loners.” “I’m happy to attend any religious observances where the food is good,” said one non-believer. For others, atheism is a cause. Along with freethinking and agnostic groups, they are beginning to lobby Congress on everything from stem cell research to civil rights.

POPSThe Hire an Atheist to Watch Your Pets Scam
I had to Clip this as evidence lest someone not believe me. You can now pay a bonafide Atheist $115.00 to take care of your beloved pet when the Rapture comes. The article has a few unsavory words, but the concept is just so ridiculous I just couldn't resist sharing. I'm not real sure how the Rapture story goes. I thought it had something to do with "the Earth burning up." Now if the that happens...there won't be anyone left to care for Fido anyway. This is what the GoDaddy website claims: "You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved. But when the Rapture comes what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind? Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind. We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you've received your reward. Our network of animal activists are committed to step in when you step up to Jesus."

POPSAtheism No Bar To Jehovah's Personal Interest When Rutherford’s pastor said that “she was going to hell fire because she had not been immersed and that he was going straight to heaven because he had been, his logical mind revolted and he became an atheist.” It took Rutherford several years of careful research to rebuild his faith in a personal God. He worked, he said, from the premise that “that which cannot satisfy the mind has no right to satisfy the heart.” Christians “must be sure that the Scriptures in which they believe are true,” Rutherford explained, adding: “They must know the foundation on which they stand.”—See 2 Timothy 3:16, 17. *** w97 10/1 p. 6 Know Jehovah—The Personal God ***
