Fraudulent "Smart Choices" food labeling program crumbles
katsteevns
by katsteevns  11-3-2009    1
As NaturalNews previously reported (http://www.naturalnews.com/027077_n...), the fraudulent Smart Choices food labeling program was being led by a Tufts University dean named Dr. Eileen Kennedy, a woman who continues to insist that sugary breakfast cereals made with 40% sugar, artificial coloring chemicals and partially-hydrogenated oils are really, really healthy for kids! (Eat more!) To paraphrase her view, they're smart choices because they are "better than a donut."

Celente – People Should Brace For ‘Greatest Depression’ 2012 Forecast – Food Riots, Ghost Malls, Mob
foxyarse
by foxyarse  10-11-2009
“Here we are in 2012. Food riots, tax protests, farmer rebellions, student revolts, squatter diggins, homeless uprisings, tent cities, ghost malls, general strikes, bossnappings, kidnappings, industrial saboteurs, gang warfare, mob rule, terror,” he writes for a quarterly publication that is available through subscription on his website. He also talked about his forecasts with Greg Corombos of Radio America/WND in an interview that has been posted online. The recent surge in Wall Street indexes back to near the 10,000 level, still far below the 14,000 prior to the crash, should be no reassurance for anyone, he said. “There’s no recovery. This is merely a cover-up,” he said. “The market crashed in March of 2009 and around the world they papered over the damage from the collapse with phantom money printed out of thin air backed by nothing,” he said. This is “much bigger” than an economic collapse, he said. “This is the decline of empire America.”

The school lunch scam
aklimento
by aklimento  8-19-2009    1
Reform in food industry is no less important than reform in healthcare. That's where most diseases grow. Culture of sickness, craziness, violence and apathy has to be replaced by culture of good taste, healthy and delicious natural food. We, and children especially, do damaging ourselves consuming synthetic dishes with countless, meaningless at least, and in fact poisonous, artificial ingredients in mercilessly processed products.

Some of our foods are poisons!
aklimento
by aklimento  8-11-2009    5
This subject will always be actual. It's our life, after all. Modifying old sentence, we are eating to live, not to suffer from what we eat. And drink. So, better check what you eat and especially how you feed your kids; not force them to pay for our mistakes and our inaction toward crooks, making living on our health. There are many bizarre theories in food and medical science to be revised and as soon as we start to do that as better. How many troubles can be prevented! First of all it is the notion that we can safely eat artificial food, practically plastic. We are not! We cannot be healthier neither with synthetic food, nor with chemical medicines. Even naturally occurred remedies have to be applied carefully. Chemical "revolution" of past century in relation to our life and health is over. One more remark. Please note, that not all toxins are poisons and most dangerous stuff in our food not toxins, which are produced by some microbes, but man made poisons, added there by stu

Alternate Sweeteners
tabsey
by tabsey  5-8-2009    1
Lexica bought to our attention the problems associated with the improperly tested Aspartame (they tested it for tooth decay and pronounced it safe.) Some alternatives- If unsure, visit the source or google Aspartame. If you want to have some fun, walk into a chemist and ask about it. I did and got deathly silence and staff that were all suddenly busy.

What's really in foods labeled "healthy"?
Lexica
by Lexica  5-6-2009
Rule of thumb: if it has an advertising campaign, be intelligently skeptical about it. For example, plain old yogurt is good for you. Sweetened, thickened, colored, flavored "Go-gurt" in a tube... not so much.

Searle, Monsanto and Ajinomoto: Three Corporate Miscreants in the Toxic Junk Food Additive and Aspartame Business I am upset by the mainstream media's lack of truth about aspartame, the artificial sweetener unfortunately approved by the FDA, thanks to political pressure from Don Rumsfeld and President Reagan.

But the New York Times is populated with people who can't believe they live in a country where people would put a caterpillar in a terrorist's cell.

More Bad News For Splenda/Sucralose
DizzyDezzi
by DizzyDezzi  2-10-2009
After some nasty experiences with sucralose/Splenda, including severe migraines and nausea, I have done my best to avoid it like the plague (I don't even gargle with it--Listerine lists it as an ingredient in their flavored mouthwashes). I don't even chew gum with sucralose. I don't feed it to my kids or my friends, either. The only "diet" or "fat-free" drink I offer in my home is bottled water. I avoid food that says "low fat" or "fat free" unless I can tell, by reading the ingredients that they do not include "sucralose" as an ingredient. I'm thinking about getting my hands on some leaves from a Stevia plant to grow my own non-fat sugar substitute, produced with love from Mother Nature.

Robots Evolve And Learn How to Lie
balthazarus
by balthazarus  1-31-2009    2
"The fourth colony sometimes evolved “cheater” robots instead, which would light up to tell the others that the poison was food, while they themselves rolled over to the food source and chowed down without emitting so much as a blink. Some robots, though, were veritable heroes. They signaled danger and died to save other robots. “Sometimes,” Floreano says, “you see that in nature—an animal that emits a cry when it sees a predator; it gets eaten, and the others get away—but I never expected to see this in robots.”

perpetuates life is written in nitrogen ink. But the supply of usable nitrogen on earth is limited. ... Until a German Jewish chemist named Fritz Haber figured out how to turn this trick in 1909, all the usable nitrogen on earth had at one time been fixed by soil bacteria living on the roots of leguminous plants (such as peas or alfalfa or locust trees) or, less commonly, by the shock of electrical lightning, which can break nitrogen bonds in the air, releasing a light rain of fertility. ...
