POPSIsraeli police say PM Olmert should be indicted Mr Olmert is also accused of filing duplicate claims to government agencies for travel expenses. The accusations date back to his time as mayor of Jerusalem and minister of trade and industry before he became prime minister in 2006.

POPSComic "Your stealing their Land. Try being reasonable" "You don't simply bundle people onto trucks and drive them away ... I prefer to advocate a more positive policy ... to create, in effect, a condition that in a positive way will induce people to leave." Ariel Sharon, quoted by David Bernstein in Forcible Removal of Arabs gaining support in Israel", The (London) Times, August 24, 1988, page 7. Cited in Imperial Israel And The Palestinians: The Politics of Expansion, by Nur Masalha; Chapter 2, footnote 117. "I would have carried on autonomy talks for ten years and meanwhile we would have reached a half million people in Judea and Samaria." Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Shamir in an interview with Joseph Harif, for Ma'ariv, 26 June 1992; cited by Avi Shlaim, "Prelude to the Accord: Likud, Labour, and the Palestinians," Journal of Palestine Studies, p 23 (1994).

POPSFrom the Mouth of Mossad: Pax Americana will continue beyond Iraq The former head of Mossad verifies the Iraq war is for Israel's benefit (for which Americans must die in proxy wars) and the agenda for a PAX AMERICANA (per the neoconservative agenda) will require U.S. military presence and more wars well beyond Iraq. (Article is somewhat dated, but oh so relevant in exposing the long term plan). And if a democrat takes the White (washed) House, watch for another "catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor" to continue and expand the war theatre in the Middle East and beyond. Both parties are beholden to the Israeli lobby (including Pelosi and Obama and Hillary) and will be provided with cover for promising to end war when in fact they will expand it (just as Wilson and FDR did in WWI and WWII).

POPSNetanyahu: Israel's arch-hawk aiming for comeback Israel needs someone who will look out for the interests of it's people and not roll over every time someone criticizes them. They have been to the peace table so many times, offered everything but Jerusalem and national suicide, kicked their own citizens out of their homes and given the land back to the Palestinians, BUT it's never enough. They are completely surrounded by Jew-haters committed to their annihilation so hunker down and defend.

POPSReasons Behind Lebanon War. The true reasons behind Israel's assault on Lebanon last year are finally beginning to unravel before the Vinograd Commission. But alas, I doubt the commission will have much effect. It's terms of reference are too narrow. Author Uri Avenery is a veteran peace activist for over 4 decades, I just love his down to earth writing style. I only hope another Lebanon operation can be averted, but I am sceptical given the strength of the planning in June's adventure and because I have previously read of secret meetings between Israel, Turkey, and Lebanon's PM late last year in Cairo.

POPSRoad Map to Nowhere: Israel/Palestine Since 2003 Go to the source for a very insightful view of how and why the relationship between Israel and Palestine has deteriorated to the nightmarish state it is in today and what needs to be done to alleviate it before it is too late. Here's a bit more that needs to be heeded: "There is no place on earth that hasn’t at one time or another “belonged” to a different people than its current inhabitants, and no place other than Palestine where it even occurs to anyone to argue that the passage of two thousand years is irrelevant to judging current land rights. Far worse, by blinding the Israelis—and their equally unseeing supporters among diaspora Jews, especially in the United States—to the reality of the conflict, these childish arguments have had devastating consequences for the Israelis and the Palestinians alike."

POPSSettlements grow on Arab land, despite vow to US Three years ago, in talks with the Americans, Israel promised that all new construction in the older settlements would take place near existing neighborhoods. The idea was that construction would be limited to meeting the needs of the settlements' natural growth, and bringing to an end the out-of-control expansion over territory. In practice, the data shows that Israel failed to meet its commitments: many new neighborhoods were systematically built on the edge of areas of the settlement's jurisdiction, which is a much larger territory than the actual planning charts account for.

POPSJunkies of War AFTER THE 25th day, the 26th will arrive, and so on and on. President Bush, who pushed us into this war to start with, is now pushing us to fight on ("Until the last Israeli soldier," as the saying goes.) Like Olmert, he lives in an imaginary world. Bush, Olmert and their like can incite and draw the masses behind them, until the call of "the Emperor is naked" finds receptive ears.

POPSPat Robertson's Tsunami Predictions Am I the only one who thinks it really funny that Mr. Robertson says, "If I heard the Lord right about 2006..."? I mean, does God mumble or stutter or something? I figured if God wanted someone to know something, there'd be no doubt about it.
