The Uninsured are Dying
Imnclady
by Imnclady  9-1-2008    24
Who says it isn't hurting anyone to be without health insurance....not I...it makes sense to put off check ups when you don't have the money to pay or to wait as long as you can hoping you feel better when you get sick...They know it is hurting us, They did a Study on on it. So how can we ignore the truth?

G. Edward Griffin: A World Without Cancer
WIDEEYECINEMA
by WIDEEYECINEMA  3-2-2008
With billions of dollars spent each year on research, with other billions taken in on the sale of cancer-related drugs, and with fund-raising at an all-time high, there are now more people making a living from cancer than dying from it. If the solution should be found in a simple vitamin, this gigantic industry could be wiped out over night. The result is that the politics of cancer therapy is more complicated than the science.

Study: CT Raises Risk of Cancer
gardengirlinohio
by gardengirlinohio  11-29-2007
When I read this article I was somewhat concerned because my daughter has Ct scans repeated every six months to check the size of her thymus nodules. If they grow at all the surgeon said she will need to have it removed (because then the nodules are malignant). But the CT itself is a risk for cancer. Well, it's always something. Isn't it?

ASCO Opens Up
Matthew Herper
by Matthew Herper  10-29-2007
It's about time. The annual meeting of the American Society for Clinical Oncology is the most important of the year for biotech stocks, but it has been the worst in terms of how it handles information of importance to investors. TheStreet.com's Adam Feurstein, who has done a lot to bring attention to this problem, has the scoop.

Commemorative & Awareness Months
enSue
by enSue  10-14-2007
This article is a great source if you've ever wondered what national awareness and causes are assigned for each month. The linked page also includes commemorative days, and the more famous, and especially lesser-known or extremely odd, commemorative month events (like National Hug a Texas Chef Month and Better Breakfast Month). I selected some interesting (in my opinion), although not necessarily odd or famous, topics for this clip.

New Research Shows Vitamin D Slashes Cancer Risk by 77%
thedoorway
by thedoorway  6-16-2007
Cancer is Big Business in the U.S., so big that the cancer industry doesn't want anybody messing with their money! Cancer research isn't about finding cures; it's about finding drugs that can be sold at enormous profit. There are many natural aids and even cures, but they're outlawed by those charged with protecting the public. Arm yourself with knowledge! The medical establishment isn't trained to keep you well; they're trained to keep you coming back, time and time again.
