POPSObama Extends Hand, But America's Critics Keep Fists Clenched Probably because it wasn't all about Pres. Bush, his policies, or anything else other than America's ideology, it's power, it's prosperity. However, now that that's changing all our enemies can say whatever and ally themselves with each other to undermine and destroy us. Obama is weak; they are taking advantage of that.

POPSBetween Two Worlds: How Young Latinos Come of Age in America Hispanics are the largest and youngest minority group in the United States. One- in-five schoolchildren is Hispanic. One-in-four newborns is Hispanic. Never before in this country's history has a minority ethnic group made up so large a share of the youngest Americans. By force of numbers alone, the kinds of adults these young Latinos become will help shape the kind of society America becomes in the 21st century.

POPSwhat people's dreams were like before the cinema was invented ?? .. "The state of cinema IS a dream state. No known address. Occupied, dictated, created by no one. When it comes to moving goal posts, what art form could be described as more flexible than film?" "It was in Tarkovsky's Stalker that I saw an image of a dream that I have been visited by all my life made real (Does a thing have to be shared to be made real?). A bird flying towards the camera dips its wing into the sand that fills a room. Did I imagine this?" Each year, the Film Society invites one of the leaders in cinema to address the issues facing the film world today. In 2006, the State of Cinema address was delivered by the stunning, eloquent and provocative Tilda Swinton. given on Sunday, April 29, 2006 at the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas. warmly recommended 2 read it all !!

POPSDemocrat Utopia: Free Unicorns for Everyone In addition to spending billions more than it takes in, Michigan's $2.3 billion community health budget, 90 percent of which is Medicaid, will get slammed with an additional $500 million or so by socialized medicine. And that's just part of the problem. Emergency Jobless Claims Hit All-Time High: And I thought President Obama said the economy was recovering. The number you won't hear mentioned anywhere in the Mainstream Media: 327,729. That is how many people shifted to Emergency Unemployment Compensation programs in the last week alone, hitting an all time record high of 4.2 million! Oh, and did you hear? America is broke -- and the Democrats keep spending: Politico's headline reads 'Dems to lift debt ceiling by $1.8 trillion, fear 2010 backlash'. In a nutshell, the Statists are in a central-planning frenzy and won't let up until they control health care and every energy-consuming business in the country:

POPSAn Open letter to Mr. Obama
You have filled your administration with people who hold the most outrageous, insane, and frightening views on everything from our climate to our animals and worst of all, the sexuality of our children. You plainly gravitate toward these radical sorts who have a view of America and the world that I and many other will simply never tolerate. Your intentions have been revealed, and they are divisive and destructive. Do not attempt to distance yourself from the views of Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, and John Holdren. You don’t get a pass anymore. The buck stops with you. If you appointed them, then you believe what they believe. If you think they’re off-base and you disagree with them, then you shouldn’t hire them to do your laundry, let alone fill a cabinet-level position. If they’re on your team, then you’re okay with everything they’ve said and published – period. You’re the one who wanted the job, so stop crying about being unfairly aligned with crazy radical views.

POPS How Many Lies Is Enough? “I intend to take serious steps to reduce America’s long-term deficit because debt-driven growth cannot fuel America’s long-term prosperity.” So what happens when your debts become greater than your assets? You end up like GM and Chrysler - bankrupt. The country will be sold to the highest bidder, just as it is now being sold off to Red China. Cloward-Piven But Obama isn’t concerned with that, in fact, it’s exactly what he wants. Break the bank and redistribute the wealth to those who no longer have any income after the economy has collapsed and the country finds itself in a deep depression - taking much of the free world down with it. That is the Cloward-Piven strategy for the destruction of capitalism and the free market. In September of last year, American Thinker published my article, Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis. Part of a series, (http://bit.ly/7Cn04V) it connected then-presidential candidate Barack Obama to ....

POPSThe Arabs Have Stopped Applauding Obama "American arms had won a decent outcome in Iraq, but Mr. Obama would not claim it—it was his predecessor's war. Vigilance had kept the American homeland safe from terrorist attacks for seven long years under his predecessors, but he could never grant Bush policies the honor and credit they deserved. He had declared Afghanistan a war of necessity, but he seems to have his eye on the road out even as he is set to announce a troop increase in an address to be delivered tomorrow."

POPS"In Search of a Real Spaceship"
More from the article below: "We forget today that the Shuttle system was so advanced every other existing space power wanted one. The Europeans called theirs Hermes. The Russians Buran. Japan was designing the Hope space plane. Germany had a really radical design named after space pioneer Eugen Sanger. But alas what they all discovered was a winged vehicle was a complex design whose development would require a lot of cash-and patience. Both were in short supply. So America would wind up flying alone aboard space wings. The Shuttles would wind up doing many incredible things-among which was saving the Russian Mir space station, because the orbiters brought up more water, food and supplies that a dozen Russian Progress supply ships could carry. They deployed satellites. Returned a few back home. They were-and are-without match in the short history of human spaceflight. But, for now, think of spacecraft worthy of following our Shuttles. We don't need any stinkin' capsules!"

POPSUS:Repression abroad leads to degradation at home. .. Alfred W. McCoy tends to be ahead of the curve in his writing. In the Vietnam era, he had to fight the CIA to get his book, The Politics of Heroin: CIA Complicity in the Global Drug Trade, published; in the Bush years, he was perhaps the first person to recognize that the photos from Abu Ghraib represented no anomaly but the product of a long history of CIA torture research -- and published a powerful book, A Question of Torture, on the subject... His latest book, Policing America's Empire: The United States, the Philippines, and the Rise of the Surveillance State, meets counterinsurgency, another topic direct from today's headlines, head on. McCoy lays out just how that impulse for repression and policing, so vividly and violently expressed abroad in these last years, is now quietly taking aim at us.`

POPSObama Has Won The 100 Metres at The 2012 London Olympics
Thus, with President Wilson alone, the Nobel Peace Prize death toll is over 50 million and counting. Occasionally the peace prize has gone to actual peace negotiators but usually, per Teddy Roosevelt, when there was nothing left to negotiate. Carlos Saavedra Lamas got his in 1936 for mediating between Bolivia and Paraguay in the Chaco War (1932-35). Both nations were exhausted, 100,000 soldiers were dead, and the Chaco was--as it had been and remains--a vast, useless weed patch. Likewise, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan (1976) and John Hume and David Trimble (1998)--the four of them were standing around when, after 500 years, the fool residents of my ancestral homeland ran out of ammo and beer. Of course, if you go around giving prizes left and right (mostly left) for more than a century, you're bound to give some to worthy people once in a while. With the Nobel committee this usually involves the Red Cross (1901, 1917, 1944, 1963). But the Red Cross doesn't bring peace . . .

POPSLetter To TheWhiteHouse ~ re:TV MediaNews You've been trying to suppress the free marketplace of ideas since your primary campaign and you are still doing it. You guys are sooooo obvious. Why be afraid to go on FOX and, if they are wrong about you, set them straight? It seems like if you had real faith in your agenda, and if conservatives' notions of what you're up to are way off base, you'd be confident to go look people in the eye and calmly tell them where they are wrong about you, why they are wrong about your extremist associates and appointments, and clear up the issues. You could explain that your advisors aren't students of Mao, Marx, Alinsky and that you understand America is not where we forcibly "redistribute the wealth" for it's own sake.

POPSA Letter of Congrats to Pres. Obama and Limbaugh Agrees with Taliban How disgusting is this? Limbaugh agrees with the Taliban because they are bashing the President of the United States of America on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Talk about a Fifth Column? This is Rush Limbaugh's official reaction to the news that our president was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize: "Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about -- and that is he doesn't deserve the award? Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something with the Taliban." ----- Hey Rush, you may be on the same side as the Taliban but let me inform you, YOU DOG! POPSNobel Peace Prize Winners Comment: absurd decision on Obama makes a mockery of the Nobel peace prize The award of this year’s Nobel peace prize to President Obama will be met with widespread incredulity, consternation in many capitals and probably deep embarrassment by the President himself. Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America’s first black president and hope that Washington will honour its promise to re-engage with the world. Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace. The pretext for the prize was Mr Obama’s decision to “strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”.

POPSAmerican Casino: A Documentary About the Home-Mortgage Crisis more @ clip source the Cockburns meet one guy in "American Casino" who understands the whole mess better than most, a California real estate investor named Jeff Greene who smelled the end of the housing bubble around 2006 and bet $1 billion against the mid-decade exuberance of Wall Street. Sitting in his walled and gated beach compound in Malibu, Greene calmly tells the camera that the opportunity for his successful hedge bet (which has yielded $500 million so far) involved massive pain for millions of homeowners.
