Airplanes sprayed mysterious substance over Ukranine
kareval
by kareval  11-14-2009    2
There was also reports of helicopters spraying aerosols over Kiev, Lviv, Ternopil and throughout Ukraine. 30th October the Ukraine president Viktor Yushchenko ordered the army or Ministry of Defense to establish mobile hostpitals to provide “essential medications” for people infected with h1n1 (swine flu). Then just recently the entire Ukraine was put under martial law, more shocking is the statement before the serious pneumonic plague broke out “Due to the complex epidemiological situation in the western regions of Ukraine, where tens of thousands of people have become ill, thousands are in hospital, and dozens have died.”

9 Environmental Boundaries We Don't Want to Cross
celestialdancer
by celestialdancer  9-25-2009
Records of global transitions between geological ages, and of regional changes between environmental stages, suggest that planet-wide change could happen relatively quickly. It might not take thousands or millions of years for Earth’s environment to be altered. It could happen in centuries, perhaps even decades. Exactly what Earth would look like is difficult to predict in detail, but it could be radically different from the mild environment that has prevailed for the last 10,000 years. It was temperate stability that nurtured the rise of civilization, and it should continue for thousands of years to come, unless humanity keeps pushing the limits. “The Earth of the last 10,000 years has been more recognizable than the Earth we may have 100 years from now. It won’t be Mars, but it won’t be the Earth that you and I know,” said Foley. “This is the single most defining problem of our time. Will we have the wisdom to be stewards of a world we’ve come to dominate?” Th

Extravagant doublethink in action for the socially engineered: Pollute to counter pollution's effects. Huh? Didn't I see this in a Simpson's episode? Maybe that show was some sort of Murdoch sponsored conditioning? Nah. Nor could Captain Planet have been some sort of Turner sponsored conditioning.

How aerosols mask climate change
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  6-19-2009
...started investigating whether aerosols could be employed to deliberately mask global warming...The research team, led by fellow Met Office scientist Dr Andy Jones, found that global warming could be slowed by up to 25 years, but they also found the approach could also have some very detrimental effects. The most serious of these, they say, is a sharp decrease in rainfall over South America, which would likely accelerate the die-back of the Amazon rainforest, and contribute to the loss of one of the world's major carbon sinks. "You would have to be very careful about which clouds you choose with this approach,"...

Are aerosoles the key to climate change?
egoldstein
by egoldstein  4-9-2009
The tough thing about this issue is that so many brilliant scientists have so many diverse, well reasoned, theories. The study in this article suggests that aerosoles, often produced by industrial processes and the combustion of diesel and biofuels, are a leading factor is causing and potentially reducing global warming.

Reduced pollution leads to Global Warming???
gemfemfox
by gemfemfox  1-19-2009    2
Ok, let me get this straight. We need to enact job killing-and utility raising-legislation to combat GW. Yet, when pollution is reduced the byproduct is? Global Warming. (we'll just pretend that the temp hasn't dramatically dropped this century-that is irrelevant) So, pollution causes GW AND removal of pollution causes GW. Why can't people see the stupidity of the whole argument for bankrupting us? Bet China will be clean and sunny soon. bwaaahaaaaaahaaaa.

I am now so disgusted with this "green" movement crap that I am designating this as the first Green Free Blog on the internet. I vow to burn more tires, use more aerosols, use only contraband refrigerants, eat one cabbage a day and fart frequently, turn the heat or air conditioning to the highest level in any home or office I visit, eat meat three times a day, use only plastic bags, recycle nothing, fire 50 lead bullets daily, take seven showers a day, drive my car to the mailbox, flush twice, encourage people to barbecue more, kill any whales I stumble upon, mow the lawn daily, gun my engine, kick Algore in the nuts if I ever meet him, and never buy any product that mentions the word Green, Environment, or Friendly.

Found ! 'Missing link' brown dwarf
pokkets
by pokkets  4-10-2008
Scientists have often wondered how big a gas cloud had to be, before the collapse due to it's own gravity would turn it from a large planet into a small star. They have found gas giants, and brown dwarfs either side, but this is the closest to the line. There will probably be a few 'missing links', because beside the mass, the flash point could depend on what the clouds are made of. Scientists always love it when they find something that needs a new category.

Global Warming's Dirty Secret
davboz
by davboz   9-7-2007    1
Wigley says that sulfate aerosols will be legislated out of existence faster than previously thought. He champions the theory that sulfates reflect away the sun's radiation, conveniently explaining why the planet has warmed so little despite the claims of warming doomsayers and their computers. Without sulfate aerosols, computer models indicate our hemisphere should have already warmed about 2.3 degrees Celsius as a result of the greenhouse effect. The observed warming this century is a scant 0.65 degrees. If the sulfate hypothesis fails, the argument devolves into what the "skeptics" have said for decades: the earth simply isn't going to warm all that much. n October 1994, at a global warming meeting called by Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), Wigley was confronted with the reality that satellites had found no warming. He merely waved his hands and said, "Oh come now, that's just the satellite data." Oh come now, Tom, it's just the only global measure of temperature that exist.
