POPSMinnesota Prosecution of Activists Leads Way to Characterize Dissent as Terrorism (cont.)As the ACLU revealed in 2006, the Pentagon has surveilled Americans opposed to the Iraq war, including Quakers and student groups, and has shared this information with other government agencies through the Threat and Local Observation Notice (TALON) database. As well, the FBI “has collected extensive information on the tactics, training and organization of antiwar demonstrators and has advised local law enforcement officials to report any suspicious activity at protests to its counterterrorism squads, according to interviews and a confidential bureau memorandum,” Eric Lichtblau reported in November, 2003.

POPSPolitical Analyst~OR~Partisan Activists??? Olbermann's dominance brings out the worst in Matthews. Even Brokaw. They are both more balanced, when KO is nowhere in sight. An insightful eye can tell the difference when responding to Keith they are timidly stammering for words far enough in the extreme left bias to satisfy him. And their facial expression shows it - clearly. They are resentful, pressured, and under the thumb of Keith Olbermann. At a later point, with Olbermann gone, they are confident, balanced and natural. Myself, I can ferret out this kind of passive-aggressive, irresponsible phony journalism. There are just too many out there that cannot see that the line between news and amateurish blog has disappeared ~ probably for ever.

POPSSaving the Internet Comcast floated the idea of a 250 gigabyte cap in May and mentioned then that it might charge users $15 for every 10 gigabytes they go over, but the overage fee was missing in Thursday's announcement. Curbing the top users is necessary to keep the network fast and responsive for other users, Comcast has said.

Exhibit A; James Dobson, head nut and a man who said he wouldn't vote for McCain " under any circumstances ," is now voting McCain:

POPSHey! Let's Give 1.7 Trillion $$$ to Corporations! "I think there's a very good chance he will change his position, yet again. He's changed his position on taxes many times, and I think he probably will change it again - because his target audience now is no longer conservative activists, its actually middle of the road voters. And most voters do not find 1.7 trillion dollar for corporations a great agenda. So we expect that he will change it up a little bit."

POPSActivists pierce Israeli blockade of Gaza "The activists' group was comprised of people between 22 and 81, included students, lawyers, doctors, journalists and an online poker player, organisers said. Mostly American and British, they included Lauren Booth, the sister-in-law of Tony Blair, the former British prime minister who is now a Middle East envoy. Many of the activists said they had received death threats before they set sail, leading some to drop out."
