POPSUS condemns violence linked to Mohammad cartoons
Knowing that this episode has caused riots, what happens when people start creating more cartoons or even flash based games, etc. that these rioters find offensive. It looks like it would not take much to escalate this to a higher degree. The point is - why does a group that at one time in acient history, used debate and rhetoric to argue points, now look upon physical destruction in order to fight back? The rioting only makes people "hate" more and totally makes them look like what the cartoons depict. Again - I don't think people should be hateful with words and images against someone's beliefs - but also all societies need to realize that no religon is absolutely correct and therefore open to debate. So what happens next - do governments via the UN create a law that says if someone creates an publishes something hateful against a religon - then they will be arrested for citing riots? This cannot happen - the Catholic Church tried to silence Martin Luther hundreds of years
