POPSIranian Basij Thugs Taking A Beating 1.06.2010 Iran's revolution entered a new phase with Ashura - the protestors, as I noted here, have become far more militant. The protesters are willing to stand and attack the IRGC and basij thugs attempting to brutally repress them. And here is a bit more anecdotal evidence - a video showing a crowd attacking a group of basij on their motorcycles. What A Difference Two Weeks Has Made Wednesday, January 6, 2010

POPSPlaying the al Qaeda game instead of a winning game All terrorists live by convincing potential recruits that they have power and creating fear and division among their real opponents. The US, UK and EU are not the real perceived enemy of al Qaeda - Saudi Arabia is the first enemy. Iran may not realize it but they will be the number two enemy, then Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan... Get it! Sending troops to Afghanistan suits them - helps them recruit new members who will then be turned on their home states. Get it - good. Let's get out of Kabul!

POPSIranian Government Guilty of Genocide Genocide has no statute of limitations. Genocide is defined internationally as the attempt, in whole or in part, to eradicate -- i.e. exterminate -- a group of people on the basis of religion, race, culture and/or politics, etc. Where is the world's outrage? The Iranian people are complicit in this genocide, and they will have the shame of allowing. Future generations will see Iran the same as we now see Nazi Germany. Iran just hasn't launched its final extermination assault on Iran's largest religious minority. Give it time.

POPSUS Tightens Security for US-Bound Air Passengers traveled to Yemen to train with Al-Qaeda. He boarded the flight at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport after flying in from Lagos, Nigeria. Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria are currently the only four countries deemed by the State Department to be state sponsors of terrorism. But a senior administration official told the Politico daily that all passengers from other countries of interests “such as Nigeria, Pakistan and Yemen will receive full body pat-down and physical inspection of property.” “These are changes that weren’t widely in place for all carriers or countries on 12/24,” the official told Politico, quoted on its website. Such screening “could also include explosive detection technology or advanced imaging technology where it’s available.”

POPSPapa B's Predictions for 2010 Russia and China know out that if Israel goes to war, everyone gets involved. And we .....we do have 200,000 military close to the Iranian border. With respect to politics, Papa B goes on to hope for some sort of "centrist consensus", but we all know that must be satire. Need some cheering up after ShadowStats' description of an inescapable "financial Armageddon"? Well, Papa B's predictions for the new year definitely won't fit the bill. POPSThe Year of Living Fecklessly by Charles Krauthammer
Why is this so important? Because revolutions succeed at that singular moment, that imperceptible historical inflection, when the people, and particularly those in power, realize that the regime has lost the mandate of heaven. With this weakening dictatorship desperate for affirmation, why is the U.S. repeatedly offering just such affirmation? Apart from ostracizing and delegitimizing these gangsters, we should be encouraging and reinforcing the demonstrators. This is no trivial matter. When pursued, beaten, arrested and imprisoned, dissidents can easily succumb to feelings of despair and isolation. Natan Sharansky testifies to the electric effect Ronald Reagan's Evil Empire speech had on lifting spirits in the Gulag. The news was spread cell to cell in code tapped on the walls. They knew they weren't alone, that America was committed to their cause. Yet so aloof has Obama been that on Hate America Day (Nov. 4, the anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran)

POPSO's day of reckoning No body pays him any mind. Not friends, allies, or enemies. I wish we could ignore him too. Iran has become the most dangerous country in the Middle East with the aid of the UN, Europe, the IAEA, and others.

POPSThe Challenge of Freedom Part I
a desperate struggle, conducted in the defiance of inevitable defeat. As a religious and spiritual people, we have a tendency to regard the triumph of the righteous as assured, and see victory as the destiny of virtue. The evidence of history says otherwise. No one would have given the American patriots winning odds at the outset of the Revolutionary War, fought against the most disciplined and well-equipped military force of the era, by men who marched through the snow in the tatters of disintegrating boots. Even patriotic Americans of today don’t always appreciate how special our achievement is… not just in its success, but its endurance. Most victorious “revolutions” end with a new class of slaves cleaning up the victory celebrations, beneath the whips of a new set of tyrants. As Binyon points out in his Times Online article, grisly regimes like North Korea remain in power, despite decades of poverty and manifest failure. The image of a lone, unarmed man standing against

a murderous totalitarian thug. He visited Copenhagen to receive polite applause from people that gave socialist dictator Hugo Chavez a thunderous ovation for his anti-capitalist ravings. Could anyone in this Administration deliver a heartfelt endorsement of capitalism to the hungry ears of the Iranian protesters? Would any of them even be willing to try? President Obama’s belief that America’s standing in the world would improve with his election, because he’s a “good listener,” is the exact opposite of the truth. Wise people, and nations, are always listening carefully… but the world improves when America speaks with confidence. Obama’s cherished Indonesian childhood, and the travels through the Muslim world he boasts of, have proven to mean nothing to the forces of Islamic fascism. He should have spent more time learning what his American heritage means to the people dying on the streets of Tehran, and those like them around the world. Doctor Zero Blog http://bit.ly/8lUxeb

POPSMore Anti-American Sentiment Obama was a fool to think he could actually sit down and talk peace with a government that is bent on always being at odds with the US. Any chance he gets, Ahmadinejad will bad mouth the US. He doesn't have any respect for the US or our world leader pretend, Obama. He knows Obama is weak. Our enemies have always known that if there is Liberal leadership in our Country, we are weak and an easy target. The following link shows that Ahmadinejad will use any anti-government protest in his Country to blame the US for the civil unrest there:
