Managing Across Domains

“Basically, we need to make sure we deliver information to those who need it when they need it,” explained Paul M. Livingston, UCDMO director.

“There have been, on occasion, differences of opinions or competitiveness between the two elements,” revealed Livingston. ”But the two CIOs are absolutely insistent that the DoD and IC work together with, to quote Mr. Meyerrose, no daylight between them.”

“We need to make certain that when we have something that, for example, is secret on a Top Secret network, we can move it to people who are working on that secret network, and vice versa,” Livingston said.

“The first areas that we are probably going to work on will be e-mail moving between security domains and file transfer,” Livingston remarked.
