Cathy Potvin didn't know everything about lasers when she started to consider spending a lot of money to buy a laser machine. But she did know how the machines had worked for her sisters, both of whom were doing laser cosmetic procedures to great acclaim.
Maura in Calgary and Joanne in Tecumseh both were running successful businesses removing skin blemishes, fine lines and hair from clients, both male and female. Potvin, 44, has a day job, and often worked on weekends with Joanne near Windsor.
It employs 13 people and offers a full range of spa treatments. It had offered occasional laser work in the past, but it was looking to expand its laser treatment hours. Potvin and her flexible schedule fit the bill perfectly.
She moved her Laser Anatomy business into the spa in June and hasn't looked back.
Prices vary, but in general it can cost anywhere from $50 to several hundred dollars for any given procedure. Because it's cosmetic, it's not covered by OHIP.
