Cheras Umno division chief Datuk Syed Ali Al-Habshee said the Umno deputy president made the request at a meeting with FT Umno division chiefs at Carcosa Seri Negara here today.
"He wants the party machinery at all levels to be prepared to be mobilised once Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announces the dissolution of Parliament.
"We in FT are geared up for the election," he told reporters after the meeting.
Syed Ali said Najib, who is BN deputy chairman, also advised Umno members to focus on ensuring BN's resounding victory by cooperating with each other.
