Wedding dress hits the road
We've all heard of runaway brides - but a runaway wedding dress is another
story.
That's what several Strathcona County RCMP officers came across last week
when they found a storage box containing a strapless, intricately beaded wedding
dress on Highway 216 near the Whitemud Drive overpass.
FELL FROM VEHICLE
It appears the box had tumbled out of a moving vehicle onto the road around
June 11 unbeknownst to the person transporting the precious package, said Staff
Sgt. Brian Cottell.
"We certainly want to marry it, so to speak, with its owner," he said, adding
he's never come across such an unusual find in the last 30 years.
"Can you imagine the panic in some young lady's eyes, who bought this dress
with the view of getting it pressed and ready for her wedding day and getting
home to who knows where to say, 'Where is the box?' "
