Ground breaking planned for Pearl project

Developers will break ground this month on the Overton Pearl, a 61,725-square-foot office and retail building.

The project, owned and developed by Portland-based Overton Pearl LLC, will be built at the corner of Northwest 14th Avenue and Overton Street. The five-story building will take about one year to construct and is designed by Fosler Portland Architecture to meet the U.S. Green Building Council's gold-level standards for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.

The building will incorporate salvaged materials. An on-site storm water management system will use landscape materials to filter rainwater.

Portland-based Melvin Mark Brokerage Co. is marketing the office space.
